    Let them bring out the drones so that after that goes downhill they will finally see how much drivers really matter and maybe just maybe the drivers may come back only after they offer higher pay per mile, these greedy bastards have no common sense

    As a private pilot and commercial drone pilot thus is mostly hype. Ask what those thousands of deliveries were, Pill bottles!
    Last time I checked the weight limits for their drones were three pounds. One gallon of water in 8.3 pounds so about three 16 ounce sodas without the bottle or can and your at the gross weight limitation
    Can you imagine a drone with a 14 inch pizza and the drag coefficient and flight dynamics that will add acting like a giant sail in the wind,?
    Oh but the drone can fly up to 65 mph and a range of three miles. However don't forget to subtract any headwind and it's effect on the flight time endurance profile. Airspeed of 65 mph into a 35 mph headwind is a ground speed of 30 mph. The three mile range is now cut in half since the motors will have to run longer as the drone flies slower to the destination.
    After a six mile flight round trip taking six minutes how many minutes do you think it will sit on a charger or have to swap batteries for the next trip?
    Makes one wonder how many mins is the drone gonna hover over the customer for all those hand it to me orders eh?
    Bird strikes are an issue with normal aircraft now wait till these drones start colliding with wildlife like geese and customers find a dead chopped up goose next to their cheeseburgers that should be fun.
    Night flight into obstacles like power lines should. Be interesting. Spotting power lines in the air is much more difficult even during the day because you have the ground as a background instead of the sky to contrast the image.
    Big difference dropping a pill bottle I. The outback vs deliveries in a city
    report by consulting firm McKinsey last year said delivering a single package by drone costs $13.50, compared with $1.90 a package using a delivery van, assuming the vehicle carries 100 orders, and $3 for an electric car handling five packages
    So doordash is gonna replace the $2 base pay drivers with drones huh? Yeah right. Not ready for prime time imo

    Don’t jump ship yet if you’re scared about being replaced.
    This is what’s known as a gadgetbahn . Its creators will brag about it like it’s the future, but it’s never going to work, at least not on the scale they claim, maybe a few niche applications, but there is no way this will ever be practical.
    Once there’s to many of these, they’ll have to start setting flight paths, which will take more time and money. They won’t be available in bad weather or simply if the wind is to strong. They’ll only be able to handle super light loads, and…. This one applies to those little robots in large cities he referred to as well, these things will get vandalized, either by immature teenagers who think it’s funny; or perhaps idk, let’s say a large group of people who hate these things because they took away a major (of not their only l) source of income. What are you going to do then? Get security drones to protect them? That would be more money DoorDash would have to spend just to figure out how that would work.
    The list goes on

    Frankly, I see this as a good thing given how little weight drones can carry without crashing. Give the drones all the small $2 orders so drivers can focus on the large catering orders that pay enough per mile to be worth taking.

    I cannot understand how DD will deliver to apartments by drones, the drones must follow restrictions and yes , there are few ocasions where it can be used , but overall is not happening.
    Plus , today I went to IHOP in California , place where you had to wait to get food. I was shocked , only one table was busy, and it was at 11:55 am . So apparently the $20 minimum wage is no good. Just to remind, last week when dining there, the waitress asked the customer if they will tip and he said, you make more than me , NO TIP. SORRY.

      Wrong! DD business model is pump out and send orders no matter the dollar amount at all costs! Also do you think on a stacked order or even a regular order they have any reason or incentive to pay $5 base pay or higher? They used to pay $5 base pay minimum and obviously it's gone down to $2.00 and eventually it will be at $1.00, they even play games with the pay scale. If the customer leaves a nice tip they lower the base pay. If the customer leaves a low tip or no tip they increase the base pay in order for that order to get delivered. I had an order that came in and it paid well $11.50 for 7 miles.I accepted the order I got to the pick up location and the customer called me stating they put in the wrong address. I told him what's your address? I Google mapped it and it was out of my way. I told the customer I'll call you back I need to speak to someone and support to see what my options are because you're out of my area. I called support and he said I can cancel the order it will affect your completion rate or I can pay you $11 more to make the delivery. I said ok I'll take the $11 more and I'll make the delivery. I dropped off the order and it wasn't that far and the customer tipped in the app and gave me an additional $9 cash tip. I was like wow this is a unicorn order lmao. But this goes to show you the games that doordash plays with the drivers and the pay. They can obviously afford to pay us more but they won't it's all greed for them

  • @COALCREEK780
    @COALCREEK780 2 месяца назад +2

    I have a question for the doordash company. I live in a rural area but also a lot of theft is happening where people are taking the orders and not getting to the customer. It's been happening for a while here by the same people.Why is that continuing to happen especially if it's done by the same people?Are they going to fix it somehow? If you please address that because most dashers will just skip on to the next order pickup without contacting customer support and reporting it. The right thing for a Dasher to do is make sure the customer gets their order! Thank you!

    • @nikkicz8924
      @nikkicz8924 2 месяца назад

      I would assume that these thieves are somehow continuing to make fake doordash accounts under different names every time they get deactivated, whether that be through stealing different identities or using some sort of program to cheat the system, but that would be my best guess. But anytime I go to pick up an order that's already been picked up I always contact Doordash to let them know, not only to save another dasher the waste of time and gas driving to go pick up an order that's no longer there, but also because I'm getting that half pay for wasting my own time and gas, lol. So for anyone reading this who isn't unaware, if an order has already been picked up don't just unassign yourself from order, contact support and they will do it for you and also pay you half of the original pay for said order.

    It’s not gonna happen those drones cost $35-$50,000 per drone they would have to have warehouses set up in each city maintenance teams Those drones are actually huge. They can actually do deliveries. so if they had a glitch and you had hundreds of drones falling from the sky, the first family of four that was taken out there’d be so much regulations and lawsuits that it would completely devastate DoorDash plus bad weather effect drones My thoughts on this about them, investing money into drones is for tax purposes plus they’re paying themselves to research drones it would cost them billions of dollars per city to get this running full force, but like I said, they would have to have a warehouse with full-time service people and could you imagine there are some people out there that would actually vandalize these things every time people destroyed a drone that be $50,000 for a McChicken

Plus NANCY who ordered everything off the menu at McDonald's isnt leaving her apt to walk outside and meet a drone. She wont even do it for a human thats delivering her food. She wants it dropped off right outside her door. 10th floor all the way in the back of the building. DONT knock or ring the door bell cash tip under the doormat. Well, some of us have health issues/disabilities preventing us from working regular jobs. For example last year out of the blue I developed really bad peripheral neuropathy in both of my feet and am no longer able to be on them for a long period of time at all due to the immense pain and swelling. Had to quit my full time job, and this was right after receiving my Medical Assistant certification, so, because of all that BS, delivering food is really the only income I'm able to get at the moment considering it doesn't require much of standing or walking, even though not being able to elevate them all day definitely hurts just not as bad. And considering there is no treatment and my feet will continue getting worse, even with as much of a headache doordash can be it's definitely been an enormous help with bills and groceries until I'm able to get approved for SSDI. But I do agree if you're young and completely able-bodied I would only recommend doing doordash to supplement your income while you pursue a better, full time,skill-based job.
