On this trip we flew with with Willy from Kodiak Air Service: kodiakairservi.... Willy is a fantastic pilot and we highly recommend anyone looking to go on a hunt give Willy a call.
That footage of that Beaver was spectacular!!! I could watch that for days, well done.
Thanks! Appreciate it. It was quite the ride into the backcountry!
@@Argali we use to hunt with a guy that had a 1956 Beaver, he called it the dump truck of the sky.
Hahahaha, that makes sense once you've ridden in one.
Ver cool hunt guys.
Was it hard to get a taxi from the airport to the lodge? Did you just call one when you landed ?
Wasn't hard at all. There was a shuttle arranged by the hotel
Another fantastic film Argali! Keep up the good work.
Thanks John! Appreciate it
Any chance you could list your gear that you're using? I like most of the firstlite gear you guys use but it's hard to find what pieces you're using.
Great question and it reminds me I meant to do this a while back and never did. The only piece that isn't currently available is the pants Brad is wearing, which were a prototype set that will be released here soon.
@@Argali I was having a hard time finding those pants and that makes sense why I couldn't! I can stare at a website all day but seeing them actually utilized in the field makes it a lot easier. Looking for some more gear to add to my collection for hunting up here in AK and figured I would give firstlite a try.
Good stuff guys!!!
Appreciate it as always, Travis!
Excellent footage, that’s a sweet shot of the beaver coming in for a landing. I was on a wait list to go up in a beaver when guiding in Algonquin park, didn’t happen.
Great shot on that first black tail, putting meat in the cooler.
Not to sure about the piano serenade but like that there is music.
Excited to see more and to follow the season. 👏
Thanks, Justin. The artists in us always playing with music and trying things out. Always great to get feedback on it.
That's some cool looking country it's awesome how those deer can just disappear in the wide open. That bucks standing up out of nowhere was super awesome.
It's wild how easy they can disappear, even when they are in their red coat.
@@Argali agreed! I've hunted the columbian Blacktails here In far Northern California my whole life and they can disappear in plane sight. They are easier to find in their red color but in the late fall when they are blue unless they move you often can't see them standing right in front of you. I would love to hunt those little critters up there you make me jealous has heck I love Alaska and I'm going to hunt there some day
@@jakef1977 Well worth the trip, and blacktails in Alaska are about as affordable of an alaska trip as you can get too.
Brian what time of year did you go? Maybe you said in the first episode and I didn’t catch it. Great series, love Kodiak
Sorry, Brad..
Hey Chris, we were there in late August. Thanks for watching!
@@Argali Nice. We went mid November and I’m seriously trying to plan a return trip but doing it more like what you guys did. Lodge was nice, even though it was unguided, but we were a little limited to where we could hunt
how did the tipi style tent do on Kodiak? I have an SO Cimarron and wonder about performance in hi winds
It performed really well on Kodiak. The winds weren't an issue at all for us.
