  • Alaska presents many challenging opportunities and exciting hunting targets for the dedicated backcountry hunter, especially for those just carrying a bow and arrow. In 2021, Brad Brooks spent six weeks archery hunting Alaska in pursuit of three different species. This mini series will follow along on this amazing hunting adventure.
    In this episode, Brad's attention turns north. Not far from the Alaska's border with Canada exists the vast range of the Fortymile caribou herd. Accompanied by his good friend Andrew Jakovac, Brad is going in search of a quintessential Alaskan hunt: pursuing migrating caribou with just a bow and arrow in hand. But first they'll have to reach the Fortymile country, and that's no simple feat. Will Brad find the high tundra archery hunt of his dreams? Follow along to find out.

    Thx for fully appreciating where you were/are, and not taking it for granted. And simply taking the time to (also), enjoy the little things!

    I’m curious what you have in your pack when you head out from camp during the day? Seems pretty full. Great video!

    I've been trying to figure out how to do this hunt. Is this a point based hunt that you've been applying for got a while? or are you guys native Alaskans that can just hunt them every season you like to?

    • @Argali
      @Argali  2 года назад +1

      We live in Idaho so no we aren't native Alaskans. This was an over the counter tag.

      @@Argali Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know they did caribou over the counter like that.

    It is very hard to get out with 40 mile air if you are not a repeat client
    Are you a repeat client or did they have a rare opening?
    Always wondered if flight services especially 40 mile air make exceptions for clients with their own show?

      Youre absolutely right. No sweetheart deals for us, and 40 Mile air didnt know I was filming...a friend of mine who is a repeat client invited me to go, but he had a last minute emergency and so I went without him. I'm fairly certain they don't care who you are, the rules for booking are the same.
