In this installment of Renovatio's Seven Deadly Sins series, Zaytuna College President Hamza Yusuf and Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan engage in a personal and powerful discussion on the dangers of pride, and how to ward off the delusions of the sin that has been described as the "mother of all sins."
THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS, A SPECIAL RENOVATIO SERIES HOSTED BY HAMZA YUSUF
Hamza Yusuf converses with scholars, leaders, and writers to explore one of religion's most enduring conceptual frameworks, the Seven Deadly Sins. These compelling conversations shed light on how the sins manifest themselves within us, illustrate their devastating consequences on our culture, and elucidate their corresponding virtues for all of us who struggle with sin.

    I like this discussion
Today this time (the time we are leaving) material world including majority of the Muslims become money minded and looks like forget what Allah (sw) gave us naturally (health, long life, sustainace, knolege both Sacred knowledge & worldly knowledge, Faith (Islam,Imaan, ihsaan), qur’aan, Hadisand so on
And most of us start thinking martial world especially money is replaced every thing.
So it is not only a disaster it is comply los of everything that have much more value and incomparable with the so called money and other material world
    We are almost worshiping today
But where is truth and haq?
When the money becomes everything this is what is happening
    Money consider a success
That means on the other hand money becomes considered a respect a protector, a pleasure, a pride, a power, a knowledge, a shek,a karama, defender,
    a health a beauty, a precedent, a king,
    a talent etc.
Very soon(Allah (sw) knows best); when masihl Dajjal arrived this material world will be considered a prophet and even a creater
    Is that not True?

I don't understand why Imran Khan's behavior doesn't reflect this talk. Why do he and his party members openly hurl insults at their opponents? Why he doesn't criticize his party workers for cursing his opponents outside their premises, it is within the law but not according to o Islamic principles. Why does he constantly criticize and accuses people in media of which he promises to show proof but never does? Maybe when you are dealing with wolves for so long, you turn into one yourself, but again two wrongs don't make a right. I had high hopes for him and Pakistan, he is honest, but unfortunately, that's all he is. And when you believe you yourself are honest like he always claims to be, then I think that he might be a narcissist but I'm no expert just want best for the people if Pakistan.

"People who see themselves are above the law are arrogant people" statement stood out to me. I love Hamza Yusuf and I agree with this sentiment, but I also know that many people who are executing laws and orders are corrupt in various ways. I never thought I would say this but I do see myself above the law when it comes to vaccination because all the theatre that I observed on the political and medial stage was NEVER for the benefit of the humanity, rather about power, control, monetary and similar ulterior motives. I lost trust in people making laws. Although the US is supposedly to have checks and balance based system, it is degrading in multiple aspects. So no, not all people who stand above the law are arrogant, we have to understand people reasoning than universally applying certain laws. Each state is like a separate country, and the way I know Islam it teach to adapt to local needs and necessities instead of coercing to laws that are irrelevant for all cases.
