I literally cried when I read in the NME that they'd split up. I was 14 and they meant everything to me. A couple of months later I transferred my allegiance to The Wedding Present.
I'm about 10 years too young for them, and from the US, where they barely were known, but I love to hear this. I was obsessed with them in 90s. I used to try to dress like them w/ my older brother's preppy hand-me-downs. Their breakup is so sad, cuz they had at least a few more good albums in them.
I wonder if there is a version of "There Is Always Something There To Remind Me" somewhere with that school choir singing "It shouts out loud". I would love to hear that very much.
