FYI: I purchased the basic Dji pocket 3 (non-combo) because I already had the comica VimoS USB-C Wireless Microphone which works perfectly with the pocket 3! It makes for a nice compact unit, no cables needed. I can use one or both comica mics at the same time for stereo audio using both comica mics. I have gone a little over 100 ft from the Pocket 3 with no problems, the range of the comica wireless mic is rated at 650 ft.
Some are good straight usb c to the device because of their programming and hardware compatibility but there always seems to be a way using the 3.5mm aux cable.
the dji mic 2 when it is connected with bluetooth sounds like it has gone through noise reduction 🤔 the dji mic with the receiver sounds way better to me for some reason. thanks for the video!
my rating is 1. Rode 2. dji(1) wireless mic set with lav 3. dji mic 2 I was wondering why my usb c cable does not work with wired mic I need trs to trss converter thanks so much 🥰
I have the DJI mic 2 and use it to capture footage at raves and the bass is just too much for it even with the gain all the way turned down the audio just doesn’t sound good any advice ? Or a good microphone suggestion that can handle a lot of bass ?
wondering if you had performed any extensive tests with the rode videomic pro+ mic connected. in this video clip it sounded terrible but it could have been any number of issues. I sold my very expensive fujifilm to get the osmo pocket 3 so i really made a substantial economic loss. Now, I don't wanna sell the $400 mic for a few bucks If I can use it with the pocket 3. so if you know if its worth it, let me know. I don't have the adapter cable to try.
I just went back to see if there were any changes with this mic and nothing changed the radio-like sound that you heard in the video. It’s not amazing but still an option. I wouldn’t prefer it over the in-camera audio but I think DJI just might have done that on purpose. Sorry I don’t have better news.
I got standard Pocket 3 for bargain (260 euros open box) and ordered Neewer CM28 (Fulaim x5) for 72 euros, waiting to be delivered. I have used Dji mic previously and sold it along with Pocket 2. I am kind surprised with the quality of Fulaim one.
thanks so much for the video! I'm getting a bit desperate since I bought the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 because it seems to work with the Rode Wireless Go 2 which I already had. However, It doesn't work at all, when I connect it. I get constant loud white noise (distortion), when I connect the receiver via USB C. It doesn't even catch audio, its basically just noise. I tried different attenuations, tried different cables. It all works fine when I use the Rode with other cameras, but not with the Osmo Pocket 3. Do you have any idea what I have to do, to make it work?
whatever I do I get a very ugly loud digital distortion noise. I tried it outside to rule out interference with other devices. It does not help..Your help is very much appreciated!
Ok, SO I just tried again with a few different USB cables going into the Rode Receiver from the Pocket 3 and no white noise. Try a different USB C cable maybe? As an alternative, I also tried the usb adapter to 3.5mm adapter and used a trs to trrs cable into the rode receiver and it worked also but not as a robust. Hope that helps.
thanks so much for your effort! I tried like 4 different cables that work fine in another setting.. Let me try another two, but I'm afraid it's not gonna help. I don't have a trs to trrs cable, thought that I might have to use one instead of USB C until I found your video. Thanks again and have a great weekend! @@SeanHelmsMedia
@SeanHelmsMedia Unfortunately I do not. I think I see where you're going with that, but I have a suspicion that the TRS to TRRS adapter would be needed regardless.
@movieimix269 not with usb. Just the usb auxiliary adapter works with it. I just verified it but it did still sound good though unlike many example from the video.
It’s just how some devices process audio. Wind/noise reduction was off. There were no effects added either. Their setting are tuned mainly to their hardware. The X5 set by Fulaim must have a similar codec because it sounded pretty good to me. The others I can leave but at least some cab know if their mics work with it if curious which was the main goal. Merry Christmas.

Thanks for sharing. This is why I made this. Great information. Happy Holidays.
You saved me more than a hundred bucks by confirming my mic system can work on the Osmo Pocket 3 directly. Thank you so much.
Well this made it worth while to help you out. Thanks for saying say. Merry Christmas!
A really excellent and helpful video. Thanks for taking the trouble to show connectivity in detail
Thank you sir. Glad to be of service. Have a good weekend.
Can I Use ''Saramonic Blink 500 B2+'' With Pocket 3 ? I Think I can Plug with usb c my saramonic mic Receiver

I agree with you. I am making a follow up video on making these the best quality.
Awesome video. I am going with the creator bundle now.
Yes sir. You won’t regret it.
Very thorough review and great info as I'll be picking up the Pocket 3 soon. +1
You won’t regret it. I find myself grabbing it when doing small mundane things just as often as my more expensive setups. Happy New Year.
Don't do it. The 2 has great sound without the extra mic
so many options! thanks
Merry Christmas.
my rating is

The zoom h6 32 bit float is becoming very popular. Maybe that?
Is there no cheap Bluetooth ones that will connect directly without plugging in a receiver?
Only DJI’s wireless transmitters work with it.
can you hook up the 2 comica mics at the same time and plug into the Pocket 3, would it work with the 4 mic version?
It’s analog while connected this way so you will have no problems getting two mics to work through the receiver.

Nice. Congratulations. You’ll love that combo. I too was amazed how great the X5 sounded.

Hi friend. Let me grab mine after I’ve had some coffee and see what I can come up with.

Is there a way to record stereo audio using a stereo microphone with a 3.5mm plug?
If your device sends stereo then it will record to the internal file as such. Thanks for asking.
@@SeanHelmsMedia I'm only getting a mono signal connecting my stereo mic to a TRS to TRRS adapter and to a 3.5mm female to USB.
Just to debunk my testing, do you have a trrs to trrs? Maybe I had a bad cable.
@SeanHelmsMedia Unfortunately I do not. I think I see where you're going with that, but I have a suspicion that the TRS to TRRS adapter would be needed regardless.
@wandercinema yep. This shouldn’t be this difficult should it?
Does the Pocket 3 provide "ghost power" to say a boom mic that does not provide its own?
I phantom power and no ghost drainage.
didn't see it in the video but does someone know if SYNCO G2 mics work on the OSMO 3?
Don’t have that one but I’m sure someone here might have it.
Will DJI Pocket 3 work with Comica CVM-VM 30 without Comica receiver?
No I tried. It needs the receiver
@@SeanHelmsMedia Will it work fine with the Comica receiver via USB? Do I understand correctly?
@movieimix269 not with usb. Just the usb auxiliary adapter works with it. I just verified it but it did still sound good though unlike many example from the video.
Yeah now its not the Pocket Camera... it's a rig!
True that
all of them sound robotic, why?
