I feel like in this version, Andrew's voice provides the perfect haunting feeling and completes the atmosphere of the song. However, the original's guitar gave me chills. Both are so amazing that I'm not sure I could pick a favorite!
I think this video represents the innovation of the world. Society is constantly trying to construct a 'better' world by using technological advances and this is shown constantly through the formation of new shapes, buildings and of course lyrics over one another. The change on earth portrays our need for self perfection even in times where it might not be needed. We are polluting, corrupting and blurring the image of simplicity but also searching for a deeper truth-all we want is everything
I prefer the original but this version is good, too. The video is awesome. I didn't think I would be moved by an animated video but it was so sad, melancholy and hopeless that it really got to me. And even if the individual images weren't exactly fitting, the overall effect of the video conveyed the feeling of the song so well.
The info section for this vid should include the fact that this song is a cover version---the original was written by the band Bauhaus, and released in Oct.1982 on their 3rd studio album _The Sky's Gone Out_.
Nunca pense que el destino cruzo dos vidas por asar pero sabes que esa persona vas a ver el mundo como nunca imginaste y eso crea un lazo con esa persona como dejar una marca en su vida.. Thanks for show me the cuots
Found out about this song because MGMT just uploaded it but when I clicked the link it said "The uploader has not made this video available in your country. Sorry about that." and I was all what the Fuck so yeah thats how I found it...
This is video is great! But for some reason as much as i want to like MGMT, there's something too slow or repetitive about alot of their music. Hopefully their next album will change my opinion
One of my favorite songs being covered by one of my favorite bands.
Beautiful.
Great and faithful cover of this classic Bauhaus Track. Thank you MGMT!

Wow, well done - I thought this was an official video! Does a good job of capturing the feel of the song and the lyrics.

Its kinda funny to say this is normal for MGMT. LOL
They did it better than Bauhaus.
@Gbodorr I disliked "Friday". By your philosophy of ethics did I do womething wrong? :P

Cool video, but the song?.. Jelly?... Weird
What was the point of the video?? was it about global warming or something?
Brilliant video, but poor, poor cover.
Oh no, that is a useless cover... whoever needs this 1:1 carbon copy? Do you really think you can compete with Bauhaus here?
