I believe Knockdhu means ‘Black Hill’ and AnCnoc is ‘The Hill’. Had a tasting with their manager a few weeks ago. Brilliant stuff.

Great session guys and Joe is a great convivial character (a real treasure for BBR). Tempted with the Craigie but not being a smoky fan was a bit put off by BBR tasting notes online about "a puff of wood smoke!" hey ho!

Finally made it through, amazing episode as always!! Btw. I dont know if u saw the new Signatory 100 Proof Series. There are like 9 or 10 releases already and i got a few of them. I have to say that i love signatory for releasing those.. i mean 57,1ABV almost always 1st or 2nd fill olorosso butts for only 45€ ???thats crazy nowadays!! I would love to see an episode where u taste them an tell us your thoughts. I dont think there‘s a better Bang for Buck out there at the Moment.

I really want to go for the Craigellachie, but limited info on the website about the bottle and the picture of the bottle is blurred when you try & magnify to read the label. Also, a tenner delivery is a tad high! It's a f***er, but I'll probably still end up buying it, I can't ignore the praise you gave it! 🥃........Edit: Fuck it, I've bought it slaintè

Awesome episodes guys. What I love about Berry Bros is that they've IB'd some Australian whisky (some Lark, Starward etc), which is awesome and shows that they'll bottle good liquid regardless where it comes from 👌🏼🥃

Another brilliant episode. Thought Joe came across brilliantly and great ambassador for the Berry Bros brand. Have to admit the Craigellachie expression has found is way on the my wishlist and will be purchasing soon.
However, I recently watched an older episode of the podcast and what I noticed most in this episode is the development of Stevie’s hair. We are days away from the Full Patrick Swayze Roadhouse experience! Good work 👍🏻😂

Fantastic episode! Joe is just a delight and a wealth of knowledge. My favourite Berry Bros bottle was a 1999-21yr Blended Malt of unknown origin, but it was just this earthy, herbal, industrial, lightly peated banger of a cask!
You guys need to try some more Knockdhu, especially the Ancnoc 18 & 24yr. Under the the radar, delicious and still tremendous value imo.

I’ve had a Lady of the Glen Knockdhu and a Duncan Taylor single barrel too. I’m a bit of a fanboy of the distillery. Brilliant unconventional tour too..,,
love LotG expressions! why do you say the tour is unconventional?
Plantation and Compagnie des Indes do some phenomenal rum as does my local (mostly) whisky shop. If whisky wasn’t on the table then good rum and gin would probably be my main spirits.
love a good rum but not mad on gin. mezcal..?

I believe André from Whisky Tales who is working at Edradour / S&V once said that there a quite a lot different spirits which are produced at Ardmore. So it would be logical to assume that some of them have different peat-levels
not sure how I got this one so wrong! I was sure they had a heavily peated malt but apparently not. I'll do some more digging and hopefully I'll be able to find something that backs up my crazy claim! sláinte Ray
Been focusing this year on indie bottles. Started off with the cadenheads engima cambeltown blend and now brought the Craigie, should be coming in a few days. #oooosh

I was the same as Jake, I started with IBs and a strong cask influenced Laphroaig. Basically my barometer was set really high from the off start, my OB seemed weak in comparison Abv wise 😂
not surprising given how you got into it though! seems we are the anomalies on this front and as you say, it's a blessing and a curse as the bar is set so high to begin with
