I’m an old timer that grew up in my dad’s service station and I love to work with my hands.
I’ve been an HVAC tech for 45 years and I’m always amazed when people who have no comprehension of mechanical things tell me how to do my job.
Like you said, they don’t participate in life so they have to try to bring down those that do.
Headed out to my garage right now to see what kind of trouble I can get into, I have a yard full of Jeeps so it shouldn’t be too hard.

You just can’t please some people.
    An old joke:
A Jewish grandmother takes her baby grandson to the ocean for the first time. For the occasion, she has dressed him in a smart little sailor outfit. Without warning, a large wave folds over the young boy and swoops him out into the ocean. The grandmother looks up at the sky, “Please God, save my grandson. I will do anything if you return him to me. I will pray daily, I will volunteer weekly. Please God, I will do anything.” In a flash, another wave hits the beach, and the grandson washes up on the sand. The grandmother looks the boy over, then looks up at the sky and says, “He had a hat.”

Sometimes it's hard to visualize it up close, but, from a distance.......oh baby that looks great. As far as the lead controversy........anything the government is against, I'm for generally. lols Most people with negative comments are just looking to start a conversation or get a reaction. I'd just ignore them in the grocery store or anywhere else. They'll move on to some other guy to engage. Thanks again for your videos. I've watch everyone since being influence by Scott hyping your channel. I 've been building cars since the late sixties and don't see anything you do that, I can find fault with. I learnt to do lead work from an old body man 35+ years ago, we used 50 weight motor oil to “lube” our paddles but it would smoke and it was easy to burn paddles, I have tried other media with my favourite being bees wax but it is very expensive.

I just finished stripping the 5 layers of paint and primer off of a fender. I found that it had a 1/2" thick layer of bondo over 3/4 of the fender with a couple of dents and one crease where the bondo was closer to an 1" and a half, I spent about an hour removing the small creases, it's not nearly perfect yet but gives me a new found respect for what you do.

Keep on doing you and remember that in order to have haters, you have to be doing something to ruffle their feathers. Last time I checked, like you, I didn't give them the power to run my life and tell me what to do. To say it politely, they can go take a long walk off a short pier. This was late 50's I believe so these were Jaguar XKs, 120, 140 and 150. Well, when we were moving, I found some of his lead work stuff! Sticks of body solder, files and such. As far as the negative folk, pay them no mind. They don't matter, and they know it. They are just sad, bitter miserable people, screw them. I think for the next motivational speech you should have a cat montage with your voiceover being you in a bubble, like those sign language folks in their circle, and you'd be orbiting the cats as they frolic, or don't move at all, whichever they're up for. I have so much wrong with me physically, and i have to keep moving so that can try and maintain what i do have. I have progressive MS, and it has caused muscle wasting on my entire left side. My muscles are half the size of my right side, and i can't feel my left hand, which makes many thing's a challenge, not to mention taking so much more time to do anything. I have injuries from an accident that slow me down to, but i fight through the pain and frustration to do what i have always loved to do.
I enjoy these video's, and have been watching your older video's. I like the idea of using lead when possible, it just seems logical, and looks fun. I like your commentary as you work on stuff, the sarcasm is well placed. Just keep doing you, and I'll keep watching. I'm probably one of only two female viewers, and no i am not gay. Those who grew up in the 70's&80's know about being free child labor lol. I was older than my brother, and was the official grunt for my dad and grandpa, but that's okay, because they taught me a lot about fixing pretty much anything. I have ADHD, so this kind of work has always kept me busy. G-d bless.

The way I think of Trolls is that trolling is their hobby. I don't think most of them have the ability or the ambition to do much of anything else. They like the drama they cause because their lives are boring. If you are drawing the attention of Trolls then you are doing pretty good. They are trying to bring you down a peg or two. Watching the videos is only half of the enjoyment they might get. Their favorite part is the comment section. I'd just thank them for their views and comments. In the end, you get much more positivity than negativity and that's what really matters. I enjoy your videos and humor/sarcasm and of course the cats 😂. Keep up the amazing work!
With all that said, I'm a little disappointed in this video. You took the easy way out by replacing the door. I was hoping for a lot of high speed hammering. The high speed hammering is truly one of my favorite things. Oh yeah and, lead is dead 😂 (even though I always wanted to try it out too) 😊
I thought about giving this video a thumbs down and unsubscribing but I'm a strong believer in giving people a second chance. Please don't disappoint me again! I'm a very important person in my own mind (that's what the voices in my head say so it must be true)
    Have a nice day 😊

I think it's really cool that you have the skills to use different mediums. Use of lead included. I've never seen that technique, but it appears to make a very nice product.
I watch RUclips to learn new things and for a little entertainment about the things I'm interested in, so thank you so much for providing excellent content.

That was the best use of a tie in world.. a cat toy.
And the insert of Poe while you were working was A1.
I knew that you COULD fix that old door skin but I was so glad to see that you weren't going to. That would have been a nasty pile of work, as you are more than well aware of.
Ahh the 60's and 70's. The days of brazing on a panel. I do NOT miss that.
You offer good advice. You are wise beyond your years .. or is that wise beyond your ears?
    Hmmm

Ah yes Joe, the golden age of body work. Where the directions on the can of filler told you to stuff a rusted out hole with newspaper and for the "quality" repair--window screen!😲

I'm not sure who was the "professional" that came up with that special precedure, Glenn... but I always wished he would have taken on a different specialty.
The thing that really bothers me is that no one around my part of the world knew about the tools that were being used in other places. Tools like bead rollers (swaging machines), English wheels (wheeling machines), shrinkers, stretchers... Life would have been easier.
Then again.. I know "modern" guys who use spray foam as a base for the body fill.
Some things never change, I guess.

Hi Joe! I believe "wise beyond ears" suits me best. I wish I could have been around in the days of braze n pave and white lightning, guess I was born too late! Thank you for helping to keep the show on the air as well, It is much appreciated!

What is it with cats and cardboard boxes? They could have the nicest cat bed in the world and they will sleep in or on top of a cardboard box. Keep doing things the Carter way. It works. My way has gotten me a whopping 8 subs!

Nice video on the use of lead on the car doors! Let the bad comments slide off of your back! Love to see Lady Poe and her paper bag. So nice to see both of the kitties as always. We also enjoyed the music selections. The ending with Alan and Poe made Tom and I smile and laugh!

Leading is a process i wish to learn. It makes more sense to me to use something that is less likely to crack, especially in a high stress/use area. Ive been collecting lead from the junkers that come thru my yard for parts and scrapping, so like three cars. Got about 2 lbs so far.

never presume what mindless zombie RUclips trolls want to see carter.... repetitive boring welding rust repair patches is what we like to see..... it soothes the mind and numbs the senses our hypocritic minds. we can come up with legendary hate critic comments when we get in the zone,so more welding please !

Hey Kyle, not sure I'm ready to take on lead work. I've learned a lot thanks to your videos. Regarding the fearful folks regarding lead I guess I'd have to ask if they wear clothing drenched in dry cleaning chemicals as well as toxic chemicals having their hair highlighted.😊
