- Hello everyone! Bit of a crisis at Carter Auto Restyling headquarters this week. Another derelict old heap is being dropped off and it's missing several critical bodypanels. In order to keep local law enforcement happy I am forced to recomission junk bodypanels from the Chicken Truck and 1948 GMC.

You're really just a modern day Renaissance man. Doing the proper repairs that no one else bothers with anymore. Still I can appreciate you're dedication to preserving dying arts despite what the world has degenerated into. Kudos to you Kyle. Well done.
Even your junk repairs are on another level Mate .
I had a long conversation a while back with an Aussie at a wedding.
He introduced me to the term “Panel Beater”. Kyle is a panel beater of the highest ranking.
Just watched an episode of Half-Ass Customs where he's redoing his hood and he mentioned you. Seems like Brett is a fan of yours as well. Keep up the good work!
It was cool of him to mention me. I've been enjoying his roadster truck build!
Love both channels and cold war motors
Good to see that things are coming together for Halfass Kustoms since the shop fire last year.
@@wilenelson1810I just discovered Coldwar Motors last month , I binge watched the whole 60 Fury build over 2 days , I love the channel !
Seems even your "hack jobs" are better than many others quality work!
You can’t help yourself. You even have to meld junk better junk. I love it
If you have something negative to say, just know nobody cares. This is entertaining and informational.
The problem with cleaning any area is that you will never be able to find the things that you moved to another place, better to simply leave the area as it is. Excellent shop Kyle.
Nice job. Looks like my bodywork.
Respect Kyle, respect. Watching yo work your magic, is undeniably good.
Speed that hammering up a little faster, you could do "Flight of the Bumble Bee".
Very interesting video, my wife is listening and laughing along with me.
Enjoyedyour craft
Fantastic job saving these pieces!
That fender is worth it's weight in Lead.
These are the kind of creative repairs that got me interested in your channel in the first place. I would like to see this type of work in every episode.
With the price of materials here it definetely won't be happening in every episode,.but I do have a few fun ideas for budget restorations
Congratulations on 40K.
Let me guess, by the end of the video it's gonna look like brand new! 😅😅😅
What a master craftsman!!!
Love the attitude, "it's garbage, let's fix it!"
Nice Job n it LOOKS Brand Used , perfect 😆
It’s fun to see you “flex” with a bit of hackery. But let’s be honest, your hackery is still art and makes us real hacks jealous!
The classical music masters made symphonies out of beer hauling ditties. Mozart would be proud!
I should be working on my own project, but here I am once again. 🍻👍
I hope you were still able to squeeze in some time on your own project!
Poor mans bodywork is the best.it brings out the best in us.concreet is your best helper.you need a bologna sandwich my friend.peace...
Thanks as always, Kyle! See you on the next one.
The best example of hammer on and hammer of floor video I have ever seen.
Yes Sir!!!
Hey Kyle, I like how you took body parts off that truck and said they are so bad into the scrap pile, oh wait, you know they aren’t that bad I can make them look good enough for some yard art and you made them look great. Good job can’t wait to see it all come together next video. I think that’s why you don’t throw any thing away you can always find a use for it on something. Later PS. How about a little bit more of the cat action ok thanks
I know a guy that can fix that fender I'm watching him on RUclips right now! Kyle if you can't fix it , it cannot be fixed and that's the truth !!
I think it's a great repair for a daily driver for the simple fact that people don't care about your perfect vehicle, they'll open a door or run a shopping cart into it anyway, I also agree with you on that bondo crap, if quarter million dollar cars can sport it my daily is fine with it too
"Better to just leave that one alone" My Mom used to tell me that, when speaking of my acne scar events.
Portapower part deux featuring all new Kydraulics! Also, thanks for the Bondo safety meeting and the stove bolt cave and pave! Great work on the “door shaped object” as well. I came for the Bondo and stayed or the Tremclad!
that was 49 minutes of excellent entertainment. nice work...
I think it's the first time I've seen you smuck and goo ... so so much for all that fancy metal work ... "smuck it" ... fun to watch Kyle ...
I have made a few interesting exhibits for the archeologists over the years, but these are my favourite type of repairs, all the satisfaction of repairing and rebuilding without all the fiddling around with finishing for paint, coat of primer and it's all new. Turns out it's even better watching someone else is doing it..
You sure make body work look so easy! I'm not that talented. Actually I did glass work for 50 years and twisted a few wrenches (old school mechanics) that's about all I can brag on as far as body work goes you're the man !!!!!
I hate "shreaded and leaded" but made me lol at removing the old fix and the fender looked better.. God bless.
Shredded and Leaded is the name of my new breakfast cereal. Available soon in the merch store!
That’s the most amount of plastic I ve watched you put on anything since I began watching your work.
Have a look at a famous Studebaker repair performed by the bondo artist in residence here for Cold War Motors. Its very entertaining.
Hey! Your mom bought you a new jacket, you’re a lucky fella Kyle.
Even your hackery is outstanding. Looking forward to seeing your yard art
This was a cool episode because as you said there are several ways of repairing these cars and sometimes they get the treatment like the one you showed us with great skill. There is nothing wrong with what you did. Many people have made a living at it and if done with your skill level will last a long time. My wife's car had the same treatment done when she clipped a dumpster with the passenger side rear quarter panel. It looked great for a couple of years until she hit a telephone pole with the same side and some product came off. Guess what, I never fixed it and she has not hit a pole again. So there. You have some mad skills with that trowel and product as well as lead. I am glad I found your channel. Cheers and see you on the next one.
Kyle, I am always amazed at your talent to take junk and make it look great! Thanks for what you do.
Great work Kyle! Thanks for the videos👍
This Episode has it all folks!
Break Dancing with Fenders, Getting The Lead Out and more Mud Slinging than any Election!
I don't mind watching a master at work. You did remain true to the name of the channel. You "Restyled " the door. The door almost looks too good to put on a sketchy truck. John
Just needs a Turbo-can Rustoleum paint job to give it that finishing touch.
I have to make a comment, but first I want to preface it by saying the comments are meant only in the very most wholesome context. When you were wrestling with those fenders on the floor, I found it to be quite intimate. Again, I mean this in only the most wholesome way. It illustrates that one must get on the level of the panel to be repaired, rather than standing by or looming over the work - you must be one with the panel. That is the true inner meaning I found during those moments when you were literally caring for those fenders. And when you got the chicken to help with the explanations, my heart was flooded with warmth as I eagerly listened to those instructions. This video was a truly deep experience, and I think my philosophies are very much in line with yours. I took my car to a couple of car shows, but I sensed that the owners of the cars with shiny straight panels were made a little uncomfortable by my car, and maybe me standing there in my overalls.
There's medication for your condition. 8^)
The archaeological society displays will surely make Canada the cultural and educational center of the world! A big thumbs up on the Patron background redo!
I was having issues in the last few episodes with youtube glitching and cutting out parts of the credits. Took almost a whole day of troubleshooting and re uploading/re editing before I finally had to give up and start over. Despite what youtube thinks, it's important to me to give proper credit to all you fine folks who keep the show on the air!
Jeez I wish I could cobble stuff up like that. Looking forward to seeing the latest new truck.
Thanks Mart! The new truck isn't much to look at haha
Better bodywork than lots of professionals I'm sure. As Scott would say, this is some solid 60's to 80's bodywork.
It's hammer time.
I like Mr. Chicken’s presentation.
And the body work looks good too . Nice save
You do awesome work for what you have to work with
Thanks for breaking up my home sick with laryngitis day. Cheers for now
Hope you feel better soon!
What ever floats your boat.❤😂
That chicken puppet just kills me. Perfect.
Was Allan looking for the date code on that tire?
Yup, he told me that it's old, but it should still hold up one of the junkers in the yard
It's a drizzly cold day here in So Cal! Which makes it so good to see you Mr. Carter! I eagerly await your appearance every week!
Drizzly cold in So. Cal is a heatwave in Saskatchewan!😆
Master Piece!
Kyle,as long as people are watching, you are creating content...there is something to learn everywhere you look...each of these items were upgraded from where they started..! Keep up the good work! Watching from Memphis, Tennessee.
So glad to finally get some good old fashioned fender bashing back on this channel. Was beginning to worry all the 10s of you tube dollars was getting to you.
Some people make counterfeit Rembrants but Kyle makes counterfeit historic collision repairs. Many bodywork archaeologists of the future will have their reputations destroyed by Kyle's devious work.
Haha that's the plan!
Kyle, your usual metal-finish-work is always amazing / impeccable to watch - - - but since, as you say, these fenders-n-doors will only be for "yard-art", the non-usual commercial-type repairs you used for this was perfect on several levels! Entertaining video & wise advice/observations on your part bro!
There are a lot of autobody repair channels here on the RUclipss. I find myself gravitating to your channel for your humor (Was the carriage bolt repair legit? ), but mainly for your skills. I like your style. I hope your channel has great success in the future. Cheers from Guam USA 👍
Thank you! The carriage bolt trick is definitely not legit, but I have seen a few old "how to" articles from the 1950s and 60s where it was used to join in patch panels and the seams smeared over with lead. Kind of the old school equivalent of using pop rivets and bondo to install patch panels
More hand puppets
Yes the advantages of 1/4" paint as alternative to bondo!
Loved the commentary when you came upon the beauty fenders. In future you could maybe have the cats do an Irish jig at these moments
K I can tell that in another lifetime you were aa experienced diamond cutter. Months of planning and then 1 blow and there are 2 diamonds or a pile of diamond dust! Good work on the chev. Preferer rusty fords but can't discriminate. Keep up the good work!!.
How are u doing for expenses , could send U 50 bucks as my carbon tax should be arriving any day.
THAT was a great episode!!!
The talent on the 'product' application would have you making lots of money as a used car dealership tech.
Yeah I'm definitely in the wrong line of work haha
even Bondo on a fender is fine as long as its not 2 inches thick. That looks like a pretty decent repair Kyle. Your repairs are great. My best to you and of course your cats.
Glad to see the puppetry is becoming a regular feature, your views are sure to skyrocket. The ABWPS sounds like a most worthy endeavor. Will it be a separate channel? Cheers! 😎👍🐔🛻🏁🏁
Yes I'm planning to create an entire network of channels to cover all my interests!
I watch , I learn, nothing is wasted. 8^)
Always enjoy your work.
Love the sarcasm 😂
👍🤠🤙
I always enjoy your videos Kyle. You do a super job. I wish I had your body skills my friend!
Really appreciate your hard work and time you put into the vehicles.
So many Half Ass channels that complain about the time it takes to do something correctly, they're always looking for the instant gratification. And they think a DA finish looks great..whatever,, to each there own. Again appreciate seeing things done the way it should.
You had me at human porta power ! 💪🏻
I met a carpenter that filled the rust holes with no more nails worked for him.😆😆
I really appreciate seeing otherwise scrap parts being put to good use, real parts rather than foreign junk 👍😁🎩
It's much better than the previous repairs that were done on it!
I knew an artist who saw a chunk of painted Bo do fall off a passing car. She picked it up, made it a wall hanger and entered it into an art competition. She got first place
Hahaha that's awesome!
when i say when are you going to show the cats and destroy them vacuums. lol good work Brother you got the gift.
I found two vintage bullseye picks and some Snap On dolly's and spoons at an estate sale. I was super happy! Ever since I started watching your channel I have been greatly inspired to work on my 1941 Chevy truck. Thanks again for the very cool videos!
That is great to hear! Enjoy your 41 project, those are great looking trucks!
@@CarterAutoRestyling Thank you!
This fender was "prettty poor"!
again and again Kyle, Amazed !!
If Super Chicken had a truck, it wouldn't be as cool as this one will be. You may be too young to remember Super Chicken. Oh well, his sidekick Fred was too cool for the times.

Magical,, 👍⭐👍
Thank you ever so much for your time and work it takes to share your wizzardry, Kyle,, 💖🙏💖
Thank you for watching!

I heard the sirens in the background, I thought just maybe they were coming for you. You know with those funny coats with long sleeves that button in the back. I guess not. Keep the door doors locked and the lights dimmed. lol.
I would guess the sirens are acting as a tail escort, signaling that his new truck is getting close.
Hey, whatever puts a classic back on the road. I love your videos!
You are amazing, love watching you do your magic
Oh, totally fixable. Kyle works his magic.
Dang if it isn't great to finish up your week, open the phone and there's Kyle. Gonna be a great evening.
You have to keep them guessing. The restomods are going to drive them nuts. When the first Neanderthal skeleton was found and reassembled it was hunched over so we all think cavemen were hunched over. Now we have bunches of skeletons with normal posture. It was later found that the first one was super old and had Osteoporosis but we still represent them that way. I don't know what that means. Thank you for your time.
Fascinating! If I figure out what that means I'll be sure to let you know!
Carchaeology is a fascinating passtime. Digging through old repairs givers you a sense of the life of the vehicle and seeing how things were done and with what medium back in the day.....and whether they were done by a bodyman or a complete novice (or someone who was both). Scott (CWM) came across something recently on a vehicle he was giving a quick titivate for someone else and you could see the layers of different types of plastic filler and from their colour and form, Scott was able to date the decade of each repair. Fascinating stuff for those of us interested in that sort of thing.
I've said it many times before and I will say it again - your WGAF repairs still look better than what comes out of modern panel shops....well, at least down here anyway! Seeing you belt a panel, look at it a bit and then seemingly belt it again at random and have it straighten back out....mate, it's a gift of yours that I admire greatly and thoroughly enjoy watching. Just wish I could do the same myself!
Don't worry about Uncle Tony - he's too busy knocking on the door of an ex-pat of my wee country and having a look at this or that vehicle up on a hoist! Some of the basket cases they've come across make me cringe - things that look so pretty up top but have painted cardboard frames, missing metal or work that an apprentice on his first day would not even consider good enough underneath. Some of the vehicles definitely weren't even safe to drive and all the ones I've seen would never pass an inspection in this country with the issues they had. It certainly put me off buying one and importing it without having someone whose expertise I trusted looking it over first.
I'm just glad to see there are still some genuine panelbeaters and bodymen out there as well as all the cowboys, mate......and a hack you certainly are not! All the best.
Uri geller would like to see that
Bought some of that Krud Kutter, great stuff. Thanks for the tip
I'm glad to hear that it worked for you!
Haha, I bought a bottle too and cleaned up a door inside and out like brand new. Thanks for the tip Kyle
They turned out fekkin' byoo tee ful!
Aw, gee wiz Kyle, I wanna whine!
Great work Kyle you got it going on my friend.you are so talented. I really enjoyed watching the video. God bless
Flooding the Ocean floor.
LOL - Priceless 😂😂😂😂
I learn from the best
I found a out about your videos through Brent at half-assed customs and your metal work is excellent. Appreciate what you teach us on your videos and keep them coming. Don't listen to the critics just keep doing what you're doing. God bless
Kyle I just thought of something you could advertise those parts for Rat rod Chevrolet truck parts!!!!! There's always some hot rodders out there looking for parts just like that!! One man's junk is another man's treasure, think about it have a great afternoon buddy
Oh I've never had any luck selling body panels, even good usable panels I can't seem to give away. I usually just end up having to scrap parts I'll never use
Enjoy your talent
Way above the average thanks for sharing your ability
I hope chicken is along for the ride when chicken truck hits the road. We all know he does most of the work.
In a world of Ted Talks™, this could be considered a master class.
Haha!
