Aloha Boys, welcome to the PNW, Crystal Mountain! I met you at Timberline a few years ago. Nice to see you are visiting my local mountain as I’m up there at least 2 times a week! Yep, we get some epic snow fall. Take it to Seattle rain fall which in turn means snowing on the mountains! Enjoy our mountains, boys…
My home mountain!! I'm so glad you had fun up there and I'm excited to apply what I've learned from you, maybe following in your footsteps in a more literal sense.
This is my home mountain for over 15 years now. The ridge you climbed first was The Throne and you came down the face named Hamburger. Specifically I like to hike all the way to the end of the ridge and head down the chute. Later on in the video you climbed Silver King and came down Brain Damage. This is one of my favorites anywhere.
Yeah crystal mountain is no joke. They mos def have heavy lines if you want them and have the skills to pay the Bills. I love high Campbell lift on a good pow day. Have a blast brother!
I swear the ad for this video was a snowboard eschool thing that was like "Sure, go onto youtube and watch a random video tutorial but you probably won't progress" I was immediately like "um"
3:32 Those are the Cascades. They're some of the snowiest mountains on Earth, with Mount Rainier (former) and Baker (travel to mt Baker ski area!) holding official world record single season snowfalls. They're the snowiest mountains in North America, and are only *unofficially* considered second to the Japanese Alps. If you catch them after a snowstorm, the terrain and sheer amount of snowfall makes most Washington ski areas absolute powder gems.
@@insan3art614 Powderbowl gets some serious avy, I've been in two slides- one at Crystal skiers right down the ridge from Powderbowl into the cauldron behind Rainer express- buried me to my shoulders, really lucky I didn't tip over and get buried head down.
So cool to see you at crystal Kevin! That’s my local spot. I’ve been going there for about 15 years. It’s where I learned how to ski and snowboard. Enjoy it up there man!!
Its always great to see you and those Adventure Twins getting out in it! This is going to be such an epic 6 weeks!! Videos like this one making is all want to be there worth you. Im stoked that the noodles turned out well...
Good times, I see you hit Braindamage, that chute you hiked to from chair 6- on good pow days it is pretty sweet. Shorter than some of the runs out in the Rockies but pretty good, some of the other bowls back there along the same hiking route can also be really good. I remember some sweet hits about 1/3 of the way down with a couple perfectly placed rocks with good landings 20-30 feet down.
@@SnowboardProCamp that’s interesting. I wonder if that has to do with change in when they check for copyright. Ive noticed a significant delay on uploads too. RUclips hates HD vids
As A seattle resident, I've been to crystal mt once and had a blast! Great to see your footage, brought back awesome memories there. If i can ask.... what extension/hand mount do you use for your action cam?
I was literally thinking you'd go to crystal mountain! I've been there once when I was still a noob. You should go there again. Isn't there a gondola there too?
@@SnowboardProCamp I definitely want to check one out. I’m going to Colorado in a few weeks, is there anywhere in vail/beaver creek you can demo nidecker that you know of?
Hey Kevin, I was thinking about taking my kids out west, and then thought about the Pacific Northwest because I also have friends out there. In your opinion, would Colorado be a better experience for beginner/intermediate kids 6-13? They’ve never boarded outside the Midwest, so it will be very different from what they’re used to.
Colorado is a safer bet. Crystal has less reliable weather and is really hard terrain - a lot of it anyway. I lived in Colorado for 11 years and Washington for 17 and skied both a lot. I know your family can handle cold weather, but it sometimes rains in WA. You might try Breck.
Hey Kevin, first of all amazing video! The snow and views looks awesome. I was wondering from your earlier videos, what size of Volcom jacket do you wear? Im thinking about getting the new guide jacket, but dont know what size to order.
Just curious, when you guys were boarding off-piste like this, I didn't notice any shovels, ELT becons or backpacks on you. Aren't you guys concerned about avalanches? The powder looks amazing though! 🤟
If it’s inbounds then it’s ok. I’m sure there fine they have take Avi certifications and have ridden this kinda stuff for year. And patrol checks everyday.
This day we’re riding terrain which was mostly tracked out and found small patches of pow. The next day we venture out some gates into some untouched pow and brought all our avi gear with us. In the next video we show us practicing with our avi gear.
@@jmanhach17 never was a real fan of snoqualmie it really is just a block of ice, as a snowboarder crystal felt more like a skiers mountain. But when I tried White it felt like a good variation of both fields, plus their other face is my favorite spot of white.
Really awesome to meet you today man! Made my week, thanks for being so friendly and I wish you luck on your trip. Keep shredding 🤙🏼
YOU GOTTA HIT ALPENTAL MAN!!!
no way u were there!! I MISSED YOU BY A DAY NOOO hope u still enjoyed our beautiful views!

That was a good week! Hope you liked my home mountain, come visit again!
Nothing like last week man you wouldn’t believe monday the 3rd was amazing, 2 feet of pow all over the mountain, no hiking necessary
Should of went to Mt Baker. Such a better mountain then crystal!! Less skiers too!! It's a snowboarders mountain!

That new board looks awesome!
Come through to MISSION RIDGE in Wenatchee, Wa. Just a stones throw from Seattle.
Those looked like some really fun zones!
Are you going to come to timberline??! I would love to see you there
Was here this day, but there is so much more mountain to explore when the avalanche risk isnt so high and the boundary is really opened
Basically you need to comeback with on a better day with a local!
Also for everyone worried about slides, all the terrain in this video is inbounds.
We took are avi gear up the next day and did a bit more exploring. Such a sick mountain!

but we have a maritime snowpack, so when it's on, it's on, when it's off, it's off.
Goes snowboarding and hiking all day and only eats a cup of noodles 🤣
lmaooo. Prices are absolutely insane. 8 bucks for fries and 16 for a burger... SHEEESSSSH
He went for 6 weeks snowboard trip. I think he swims in money
I’ve grown up riding this mountain, only an hr from my house🤘🏻Snoqualmie and white pass are close too.
you gotta ride at stevens
Kevin im still waiting for your next trip in niseko japan🔥
I love crystal mountain my family has a condo up there and I’ll be there next week. Love your videos 🤙🏼
Yo Kev you should go to Schweitzer mountain during this trip it’s just past the other side of Washington in Sandpoint Idaho
I love sonwboard
:)
Same tbh
Home mountain 🙌🏻❤
Awesome place!
Instead of making a left after you get off of the lift on Chair 6, make a right(behind the guard shack) and drop off in the back there.

It’s one thing to do everything ur doing, but to also film it is just so gnarly and takes so much more extra work, so kudos!

You have to go to white pass next!
Thanks for all the tips now i can hit jumps!!!!!
Lots of hotels at the base of whistler/ blackcomb kev

Many of king/north laps. Have that traverse down to a science lol
That traverse is tricky for sure!

I have decathalon 500 and nitro nomad of current year. Nidecker is cool! and pretty over budget for overall pricing of equipment. Nice looks.
Let's goooo
snowboarding at boreal soon
That looks pretty cool up there with the views... steep but short rides? Where's Daly? And Andreas? You have to get those two in the same video!
check out the Kiroro video in Japan, i think you might find them on that one! great guys they are
@@inmotion_snow Yes, I thought of that, but that was a while ago...
Glad you made it out to the PNW.

Some incredible riders in all of Washington!

Mmmm that fresh edge catch lol
Nidecker should make a Kevin SPC pro model like an all mountain charger, something u can take any day anywhere and just rip!
@SnowboardProCamp, come back to Crystal again & let's hook you up right! I coached there for 23 years. Always untracked powder to be had!
Have you ever been to Mont Tremblant? It's amazing there
Have you ever considered going to marmot basin
What was the song played w/ all the up and down note runs?
Fireeeee! Thx man! Will you be in Whistler second to third week in February?
Process!

Great video quality, shame the snow was sooo tracked out
The beta APX looks sick!!! How’s the flex? It looked softer in some sections🧐which looked like it’d be super fun!
The Beta APX is awesome pow board! It’s a stiffer powder board which makes it super stable in the pow! Really good for carving as well!

Who is here after Crystal announced they are moving their season pass prices from $800 to $1,700…..and ikon pass now $4,000

+18 and - 9

crystal is one of the worst passes in washington id recomend white pass it has so much more to offer
It’s not a pass
naw, some of the best backcountry in the whole pnw. if you want park go to snoqualmie or stevens, and "ice pass" is ok if they have snow.
