Bubz, can you possibly do a makeup tutorial for absolute beginners? I have never worn makeup in my life, and I find a lot of "beginner" tutorials that don't actually do a very good job explaining for people who have never even applied eyeliner, blush, etc. It would be so helpful!!
For everyone asking about her accent and what not: she's born in ireland, moved to hong kong. it's a international world. and if you don't know, hong kong is very international. just because it's in 'asia', doesn't mean you have to be asian to live there. appreciate the diversity and different talents :)
Perhaps the most helpful video on the matter that I've found. I'm a liner type of girl and I switch style almost everyday. The puppy eyes technique gives me an amazing shape and definition to my eyes. A little like the feeling heels give to a woman.
I am stunned by the fake lower lash thing...I have never had too much in the way of lower lashes...I can't wait to give this technique a try! Thanks so much!
I'm middle age and new to make up. thank you so much for posting this! I look forward to watching more of your videos. I can't believe how make up has helped me look younger and fresher! I'm 45!
Couple years back, Bubz was the first beauty guru I discovered because of her eyeliner how-to video. She taught me the basics that I still use today, It's awesome to see an update :) So happy ~!
The funny thing is... I cut my eyelashes of bc of people telling me that I have wonderful lashes :'(, and keep in mind I'm really young when ai did this!
i always do a winged eyeliner, but this has definitely inspired me to try something different, and just in time for spring! My fav was probably the puppy eyed one it's so cute :)
This video is absolutely incredible! The instructions are really easy to understand and follow. Also all the looks are very wearable, and something most girls can do. I'll highly recommend this to friends!
Hi. I've been watching your videos since 2011 and I really love every single one but I'm finally starting to put on make up. Can you kindly show how to wash the brushes? And I love you!!! You're wonderful 👍👍👍👍
I'm always so envious of those who have deep and obvious double eyelids because eyeliners look good on them and will not make the crease line seems disappear. But now, I just realise that Bubz has the same double eyelid as me and her eyeliner tips are rly helpful! ^^
Loved this video bubbi you are awesome!! I cant do the tight inner eye part at all my eye shakes as if its scared and its hard i really want to learn it though its so cute xx
This video is my little secret, my lifehack it's just everything! I love eyeliner so much, I don't even wear mascara anymore. with your videos bubz, and especially with this one you showed me so much about make up, skin care and beauty in general. everyone compliments me for my awesome eyeliner and I just chuckle and think of you. thank you so so so much bubz! xx
This is seriously awesome!! Need to buy some gel eyeliner to try some of them out .. My only struggle is that I have to close my eyelids to do my eyeliner - I have double eyelids (which I love!) So applying the normal way doesn't work so well haha
My lids are small (almond shaped), so I like the tight lining idea since I always get transfer makeup (you know... When you get eyeliner on the top part of my eye.)
You're saying that it's transferring to your under-eye, right? One thing is trying not to blink while your eyeliner dries if it's a liquid or gel type. Another problem maybe be that you have oily eyelids like me (you would know if your eyeshadow starts breaking up and settling in your eyelid creases later in the day). You would have to use a waterproof eyeliner. What I do is apply eyeshadow primer as a base to help it stick and applying the eyeliner. Then, with a thin brush, I ever-so-carefully apply an eyeshadow that's the same color as the liner. You're tracing over the eyeliner and it mattifies so your natural eyelid oils won't smudge as much. It's helpful but not always perfect. I keep a mirror and q-tips in my bag in case my outer corners smudge a little in the space under the crease. I personally generally stay away from creamy eyeliners, but that's just me. The eyeshadow trick might work on those types. It could also just be that the formula you're using isn't right for you. The same goes with mascara: use a waterproof kind that won't budge, or, if you insist on using non-waterproof mascara, you're going to have to try out different kinds with a formula that'll work for you. Also, try using a lash primer before application of any mascara. I use the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara-Lash Primer Plus duo (I almost never go without that primer!) with the Covergirl Lashblast Clump Crusher. When I'm running late, I'll use the Clump Crusher (without primer) and it doesn't smear throughout the day...unless I take a nap. I hope this helps! :)
weareyesconnect so basically your tip is to give a layer of eyeshadow over the eyeliner right? i'm so gonna try this since my under-eyes look real bad few hours after doing make-up :(
eLeaVynne Yeah, that's my main tip, but definitely try it with eyeshadow primer as your base! It helps it all stick!! I live in Florida too so it doesn't help that it's also humid here. Good luck!!! :)
Really nice subtle looks. I'm still finding what works for me, as I have only a small area to work with. Most people seem to use pencils, but in my hands I end up looking like badly-drawn girl, so I find eyeliner gel is easier to apply. You've given me some things to try.
I used to do the wing, but now I do the flick on a daily basis. It's amazing how different ways of wearing eyeliners can change the look of your eyes and makeup. :)
Thank you so much for posting this video tutorial! I always find it difficult to put on eyeliner bcuz a lot of eyeliners often smudge on my eyes throughout the day. Could you also do a tutorial on eyeliner pencil?
saranghae_amy i think you just draw little lines on your lower lashline with the liquid eyeliner before putting on mascara. but draw them only halfway down. not all the way
saranghae_amy - comment above ^ I think it just blends it and you can't see it. but I think it still has an affect on your lower lashline to look fuller.
Eyeliner has ALWAYS scared me! The one time my friends tried using it (since I occasionally let them give me a makeover) I wouldn't stop blinking. And eyelash curlers scare me, too. lol
It's weird. When someone else puts eye makeup on me, I can't stop blinking, but when I put it on myself, it's easy and simple. I used to be really afraid of it too and it scared me way more than contacts did, but once I tried it, it wasn't that bad and now I use both eyeliner and contacts
Omg! This has been so helpful! I'm not a makeup person so I have tons of trouble just putting eyeliner on. This is so awesome! Thanks so much for the vid, Bubz!
When Bubz removed the access gel liner from the brush with the back of her hand, I started cracking up because: 1. I also do that. 2. I think that's why we see dots of makeup on her hand during blog posts. :)
Love all the looks, except for the puppy eyes look! I think it's an eyeliner style that works better for girls with monolids and smaller eyes. Your eyes are really round and rather big. The wing look fits your eye shape more!
My fave video! It's sooo helpful. I usually suck at lining my eyes, but right after I've watched the video I tried to do my eyeliner in your method! It works! It works wonders! Did it from the first try without any mess! Thank you so much for the video! (:
i missed those vids bubz! thanks a lot, i love to hear you talk about such stuff :> but i still wonder i'm wearing contacts too and putting on mascara on your inner eyeline smudges a lot.here any way to prevent this from happening or is it best to just leave it how it is?
How i wear eyeliner: 1. fing eyeliner 2. realized that it`s almost ended 3.press out some mess 4. blend it 5. NOW I HAVE BLACK SPOT ON MY EYE AND ALL MY FRIEND THINK THAT SOMEBODY BEATED ME.Perfect.
How do you actually take all of that make up off? Especially the 2nd ways because the eyeliner is so close to your eyes and I'm always wondering how girls take all the eye make up off when it comes to eyeliner and mascara... Help anyone?
Sarah Fletcher Thank you for answering me. I use liquid eye makeup remover to remove my mascara but there is always some mascara left and it's a nightmare to remove everything... I don't know maybe I'm doing it wrong, I'll try what you said
Anissa Abasse What I found helpful is I dip a q-tip in makeup remover, wipe the liner off and use the other side which should be dry and wipe the extra wetness. Works great for me. Hope it helps you.
Bubz, can you possibly do a makeup tutorial for absolute beginners? I have never worn makeup in my life, and I find a lot of "beginner" tutorials that don't actually do a very good job explaining for people who have never even applied eyeliner, blush, etc. It would be so helpful!!

I love her accent, it's ever so slight, but it's so cute. She's a doll!
dont even need to watch this; just watching this because I love bubz's videos :3
You are so sweet. Thank you so much!!
***** you have such beautiful eyes :) every eye liner style suits you
***** what contact lenses were you wearing?? Please tell me!! :)
You have such beautiful eyes Bubz! xx
She wear lenses lmfao
Heh contacts 🤣
"I now have LASHES!" Your voice is so cute and great tutorial!
Perhaps the most helpful video on the matter that I've found. I'm a liner type of girl and I switch style almost everyday. The puppy eyes technique gives me an amazing shape and definition to my eyes. A little like the feeling heels give to a woman.
My favourite would be the puppy look~ ^__^ it's just so cute and innocent looking!
I am stunned by the fake lower lash thing...I have never had too much in the way of lower lashes...I can't wait to give this technique a try! Thanks so much!
That bottom lash thing tho. Like when you first drew them I was like Hmmmm~ but then with the mascara oh my God it looks so good! I'mma try that one.
"Back to basics" and Hip Song started playing in my head, hehe~
Love these looks, especially the Edge!
OH MY GOODNESS YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS HELPS ME
I'm middle age and new to make up. thank you so much for posting this! I look forward to watching more of your videos. I can't believe how make up has helped me look younger and fresher! I'm 45!
Puppy Eyes was the cutest !
Couple years back, Bubz was the first beauty guru I discovered because of her eyeliner how-to video. She taught me the basics that I still use today, It's awesome to see an update :) So happy ~!
"One time due to an eyelash curler incident, I lost a chunk of my eyelashes"
True story. I had a 1cm gap in the middle =(
Jaein Kim which is why I never use an eyelash curler anymore. too risky haha
Sadly I have to use one because I have stick straight eyelashes.-.
Your not alone. Im still scared to use it so i curl it with the mascara wand by pushing it upwards
The funny thing is... I cut my eyelashes of bc of people telling me that I have wonderful lashes :'(, and keep in mind I'm really young when ai did this!
hahaha that WHEEEEE!!
she was so calm and innocent then WEEEEEEE.
so many reasons why I love Bubz and this is one of them !
i always do a winged eyeliner, but this has definitely inspired me to try something different, and just in time for spring! My fav was probably the puppy eyed one it's so cute :)
I love that most of these weren't your typical liner techniques. I loved this!
I find it funny whenever you describe a look as "cute" BECAUSE EVERYTHING YOU DO IS FREAKING ADORABLE.
I like how simple your eye liner style is. Finally someone who's doing it simple! I've been looking for one of these.
this is such a informative tutorial Bubbi!! thanks a lot and your eyes are just so pretty
I really like how your simple eyeliner looks because its so natural but it actually makes a difference for your eyes
My eyelids are uneven though. One is a monolid while the other is double eyelid. Any tips on how to apply eyeliner?
I used to have that problem ;) But it's usually sleep caused so try to get more sleep and they will go back to normal
Same problem here
same here
same here :(
Michelle phan had a tutorial to create a double lid. Maybe try that?
woah i just came back to this, i used to be obsessed with your videos! thanks for getting me started with makeup and the such!
so helpful!
I'm soo glad!!! I was struggling for video inspiration and asked you guys for video ideas. So worth it
+bubzbeauty For a person new to eyeliner, is eyeliner gel or eyeliner liquid better? Will eyeliner gel smudged?
This video is absolutely incredible! The instructions are really easy to understand and follow. Also all the looks are very wearable, and something most girls can do. I'll highly recommend this to friends!
You are seriously my favorite makeup guru!! :) Your personality, technique, and skills are the best! hehe
I love the "I NOW HAVE LASHES!!!" part! Definitely gonna try it out!
Hi. I've been watching your videos since 2011 and I really love every single one but I'm finally starting to put on make up. Can you kindly show how to wash the brushes? And I love you!!! You're wonderful 👍👍👍👍
She has a blog post about it XD
Anyone who can apply eyeliners without blinking I really applaud you
Haha thanks.
Haha I loved the way you said "I NOW HAVE LASHES" !!! So sassy
I'm always so envious of those who have deep and obvious double eyelids because eyeliners look good on them and will not make the crease line seems disappear. But now, I just realise that Bubz has the same double eyelid as me and her eyeliner tips are rly helpful! ^^

The fake lower lashes is brilliant !!!

+Movy1011 agree with you :D
The lines that Bubz was drawing as "eyelashes" were shorter than my natural bottom lashes. Thanks Mum! Also Bubz, you rock!
You're so talented in makeup, hair and nail art!!!!! I love you bubz
OMG that lower lash trick! Genius!
My lids are small (almond shaped), so I like the tight lining idea since I always get transfer makeup (you know... When you get eyeliner on the top part of my eye.)

Phil Chao hi you are very attractive lol
We're loving all these eyeliner techniques, especially the fake lashes one, trying that one out soon! Thanks for sharing :)
Whenever I tightline/waterline, it transfers onto my bottom lash line and smudges. :c
Omg same I hate it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS! I actually have a dance tomorrow and had no idea how to do my eyeliner! You're a lifesaver!

How do you remove tightlined eyeliner?
I usually clean it with a damp q-tip using a similar motion as application c:
Thanks for this video! I have learned how to make my lower liner more full! :)
"I now have lashes!"

Hope it helps you.
tavia007 Oh that's clever ! I'll try that next time I feel fancy enough to put some make up on my eyes. Thank you !
Use coconut oil it works better then most makeup removers
Mad Hatter I'll give it a try thank you
Thanks for this! I'm super new to eyeliner techniques so I can't wait to try some of these simpler ones out!
Woah she looks like Jessica's( from SNSD)older sister or something. Like Bubz really looks like Jessica.
