- New to liquid liner? Or find it difficult to use? Don't worry, when I first used liquid liner, it was a nightmare. I looked like a panda! However, after years of practice (practice does makes perfect) I found a few techniques that I simply adore and I'm so excited to share with you! Get your liners ready and lets start drawing!

Whenever I try to use eyeliner one eye looks fabulous and the other one looks like a 10 years old did it xDDD

Aelathen same! My problem is that is that I have horrible vision in my right eye so I have to keep my left eye open in order to see what I'm doing when I'm doing eyeliner on it.

Okay, my problem is really weird. Not only do I have shaky hands, but my eyelid skin is wrinkly (not sure if that's the word.) But it makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE to use eyeliner. Also, I can't really close one eye at a time, so I can never fully see what I'm doing. Ugh. So frustrated. I should go watch Michelle's video "How To De-stress".

I don't close my eyes, I tilt my head back so when I'm lining my eyes they're kind of half closed which also flattens my lids a little also. I don't know if that will work for you, but that's what works for me! :)

Ugh I feel your pain! & for some reason my left eye is more wrinkled than the right so it's hard to wing the left side -_- gotta love shaky hands too!

Cece Devine Try resting your elbow on a flat surface when you apply it. That may help!
Try resting ur pinky(or/and ring finger) on your cheek
place your pinky on your cheek so it supports your hand and its not shaky
I once did the most perfect winged eyeliner I only one eye, and I tried in the other eye and failed several times so put my bangs in the other half of my face so nobody could see the mess i did 😂

Keep practicing! :) Took me thousands of tutorials, and many hours of practicing, and finally after 5 years I can do it decently. XD

So I got really bored and tried doing my eyeliner for the first time in like a year and they looked so good! This helped so much I couldn't believe how quick and easy it was less than 5 minutes ❤️😉
Step one:become Michelle to make a perfect line
I can't put on liquid eyeliner because I naturally have really long eyelashes, so whenever I try to apply it, the tip of the pencil/brush/pen can't get past my eyelash, making me flinch every time and then the eyeliner smudges and it goes all over my eye! Even though it's lovely to have long eyelashes, I wish I could wear eyeliner!! If you have any advice, please comment below :) xx

I have this exact problem! And if you blink at all after applying the eyeliner on the tip of your lashes gets on your eyelid!!

Eye liner stickers are a thing?? They look so uncomfortable
they are! I bought a pack at my local drug store a few months ago. Not only were they too big for my eyes, but they felt uncomfortable. And i dont have small eyes...regular false lashes fit me just fine and i dont have to cut them down. And one you have falsies on you cant feel them..i felt these for an hour and a half and then i gave up and took them off

Shannon Race OMG I know exactly what u mean! I can do the wing, but it is never the same on both sides! Found any tricks? I'm always looking on tutorials, but they never discuss this issue! Lol

What I can suggest is probably starting off by dotting the end of each eye where you want the eye liner to end, thats what I usually do, I can't guarentee it turns out perfect but it gives you a guideline atleast! but im still in search of other methods to get it perfect lol Cx
Shannon Race Thanks! It is really sad, because, I love the look of winged liner, but unless I have PLENTY of time, I can't make them even!! I,too, am on a constant search for techniques to make it easier...at least someone else knows my pain. Lol

oh, i am not the only person.! I am using glasses. My left eyes is seeing better than right. Everytime even i am puting just eye pencil; i mess it up.... Today i worked on 45 min!!

Remember people. practice makes perfect. Make-up is meant to be something that is fun. Do it whenever you want. It doesn't have to be completely and utterly perfect. So do something that you like. But I find if you are really having trouble then use pencil first till you get the hang of things. It's actually pretty easy when you get the hang of things.

I don’t know why youtube suddenly recommended this video but I remember watching this when this video first came out. I remember trying in vain to copy the steps with my cheap ass, low quality drugstore eyeliner. It didn’t help that my hands were extremely shaky. I ended up looking like a panda 😂

If you don't want the smokey eye to be too dark you could totally use different shades of grays instead of black to make it less intense!

I think it's actually all the contrary. As people age, they lose the natural definition that they have (eye sockets, lips, the works). If it's done tastefully, a smokey eye will look fantastic on anyone.

I am new to makeup I'm only 13 and I just started to line my upper lashes and wear a small bit of mascara. I really like the natural look for school and everyday but my eyes are too small to do the cat eye look 😿
I find that cat eyes actually look great on everyone, maybe try using a very thin line and no lining the bottom, but lining the waterline with white? Just an idea idk cx I just love when girls wear cat eyes X3

Just line the end of your eye lid :) that's what I do my eyes are too small... Don't line the whole lash line just the end and flick up for cat eye :)

You can still wear it. Just putting it on and perfecting it is a bitch, speaking from experience.

+Saffanah Zahira I had the same problem when I first started using liquid liner, so I tried gel liner and it was much easier for me. It's a lot easier to work with because its much thicker so if you make a mistake you can hide it better. And I've heard that a good trick for hooded eyes is to only line the outer half of the lid : )
I do too. With practice, you'll get it. Trust me
Also I do my eyeliner looking at myself the whole time. I don't look down

I never thought about it as being like an isosceles triangle! This really helped, thank you! I'm really crap with it, so this should help.
If you wanna get technical though, it's really a scalene (all the lengths of the sides are different)

Excellent tutorial, Michelle! I'm a beginner and your techniques really helped me! i used a combination between the "connect the dot" technique and the "triangle" technique. And it really worked.
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I know it looks easy but it's going to take some time for me to really get it the right way AND let's not forget about the HARD part.. making both eyeliner identical or at least look closely similar. Ahhh wish I had this skill. ;)

My eyelashes are too long and curly to apply eyeliner easily :< They always get in my way, the same when I try to wash the eyeliner off - it takes so much time and I have to do it really hard.

i guess my eyelashes are too thick idk but whenever i try to use eyeliner (pencil or liquid) i get a visible sliver of skin where my lashes are and no matter how much i try i cant get rid of it :(

That doesn't have to do with eyelash thickness I don't think. But hey, if they're thick, it's nothing to complain about. You could try tightlining, or filling in the spaces individually.

curl your eyelashes DOWNWARD before you do anything. It might be a little hard to see out of your eye while lining, but that's what your other one is there for!
And after, remember to curl them back up. 😄 Good luck!
What i do is pull the corner of my eyes, so my eyes are almost closed so my eye lashes just pull down

OMG, THANK YOU!!!! I use to take, like...15/20 min...on my eyeliner when I'm going out, only to do the classic eyeliner look (to school is easier because I just do a very simple look). No kidding. And it still looks awfull. You saved my life!!!

my eyes are small so i can't use eyeliner. it doesn't fit me :(
If your eyes are small then don't line the bottom lid! When I was first starting out with makeup I had the same problem, but now i'm quite good. The tricks I use to get my eyes to appear bigger are cat eyes with false eyelashes and maybe lining the bottom lid with white liner or eye shadow. Also applying white eye shadow to the inner corner of your eyes can make them appear larger.

I have very small eyes and very round cheeks so my eyes disappear if I use eyeliner on my bottom lash line or water line. Just stick to a thin line on top :)
Or you can line the water line on the top eyelid I have to because my eyes are also small
Just line the end of your lash line rather than your whole lash line :)
