  • Muhammad Altantawi was 16 when his mom was killed and pushed out of a second-floor window. He was convicted in March after just two hours of deliberation. On Wednesday, in a four-hour hearing, he was ultimately sentenced to 35 to 60 years in prison and sent out with a message, apparently from a family member: "Have fun rotting in prison, murderer".

He killed his mother for having the nerve to divorce his father. So many phone calls between them that morning, makes me wonder if the father encouraged him to do this. His father tried saying his son was a victim and the judge went off on him about it. The family member who said said "Have fun rotting in jail" was the sister he just asked to see.
