    It's definitely a hustle. I've had my channel 3 years and I now get about 1000 subscribers a month for the past 4 months! It takes hard work and consistency. Most folks give up before their channel really takes off!

      When did your channel ACTUALLY start getting its fanbase and the subscriber count going up? I hope I don't end up giving up. I only have three videos so it's no wonder I have four subscribers.

    • @_justjerika

      +CaineFire hey! I've always gotten subscribers, really slow but I got it. But now I'm getting anywhere from 700 to 1000 subscribers a month. I just kept uploading consistently and eventually my subscribers started coming fast! Definitely don't give up!

    Another strategy that works really well for me was start translating videos for more popular channels. When you transalate theirs videos you get a permanent credit in the description box and trust me, a lot of people click your profile because of that :)

Thank you!

    I found my niche. It's making storyboarding videos. Initially, people were interested but later it faded also there was no much sharability value in it i suppose. Recently made my laziest video on trending topic with clickbait title and it's my most successful ever. I have 95 subs but it got 450 views per day for a week.
    This all made me realize i dont know much about video content and audience as much i thought and need to learn a lot.

      Ameya Benare I guess the topic is really important and to catch on what's trending atm and all but I also feel a bit sad about that. Like can't people do whatever topic they like and that they are passionate about instead of only making content out of what viewers want to see?

    • @AmeyaBenare
      @AmeyaBenare 7 лет назад +4

      JellyIsland
      thats the dilemma we creators face at start but eventually after months of efforts i understood creator should find the common ground. No one wants to see storyboards made by me, and why should they, but i found out i i make storyboards of popular things, i cater some amount of demand. Those who likes drawing and topic both will eventually follow me. Lets see how it works out next year.

    • @DevonDashcam
      @DevonDashcam 7 лет назад

      JellyIsland but unless your channel is about following the latest trends - chasing a trend in the moment will only last until that trend fades away. I still think doing something you are passionate about is most important, even if it takes longer to grow because if you're going to have to hustle to get there, you'd better enjoy it as much as possible at the same time!

    I have three, but I only started a couple of weeks ago. I believe I got those three by being engaged with other channels, but I really enjoy connecting with others so it’s not an effort for me. I’m definitely going to try to be more consistent with posting, and I’ve noticed I need to put more time into my setup! I do photography as a hobby but I haven’t really allowed those skills to filter into filming so that’s something else to work on :) all these tips seem really great!!!

    I think that the most important is to love what you want to make videos about and have passion in your videos

    • @AJourneyIntoPhysics
      @AJourneyIntoPhysics 7 лет назад +2

      And actually the process from starting to become good is important because you learn as you say but the audience can see that you love what you do and that you put an effort to it
      At least for now i can see that in my channel although is new i try every time to become better and that appeals to the audience

      I haven't filmed myself, or my voice, yet. I've always been self-conscious because everyone has always made fun of those things, which lowered my confidence. I'm thinking of filming my first real video of myself later today. I'm so nervous, but I figured it'll help with my confidence issue.

    For myself, I find most of this information is incredible in regards to my small channel and how to gain growth and improve the awareness of my content.
    Like a few other people have said, most other vids just talk about consistency, quality and collaborations etc... but never anything specific like you guys reveal.
    I seem to struggle with gaining subscribers out of the (little) views I am receiving, but it is beginning to improve, so I can be thankful for the improvements I've been reaping so far.
    Looking forward to your future content!

      I can echo those thoughts. It may seem discouraging that we're advertising ourselves yet we're not seeing the desired results, but what's most important is we are being consistent and maintaining it. The key that I've learned is while they, the subscribers and viewers, do not know us and perceive us as nobodies, that we put out content so that when they do visit us, they have plenty to see.

    Hey guys! I've been watching Sean's videos at Think Media for a little while now, particularly as I was starting to buy gear to start on RUclips. My original goal was (and still kind of is) to start offering RUclips green screen hosting as a service, but I figured I'd get my feet wet and launch my own channel. So I've watched a couple of videos tonight from Sean (which ultimately led me to subscribe here), and I really appreciate his reassurance that RUclips is a marathon, not a sprint. Great video again guys. I've been working on my latest channel for just over 2 years and have only in the last few months tried to address the content quality, consistency, thumbnails, titles and descriptions etc. I'm even trying to drive it down to a niche too and I'm using multiple social media platforms to get the word out too but I'm just not getting any subs.
    I know I have made lots of mistakes along the way and surely will continue to do so, but I am learning. However I am finding it difficult to attract viewers and subscribers too and have hit a wall. Not sure what else I can do. I'm watching the RUclips Creator Academy and your videos to learn as much as I can. Perhaps it'll start working soon. Cheers. Always value your tips and info. Thanks
