What if you are dealing with a vertical mass-spring system? how do you then solve the differential equation, since the y-component of the ne force contains the weight. The mass cancels out when you divide by mass on both sides, but "g" stays. would that change anything? I really need the answer to this so please help me as I don't understand differential. equations of this level of complexity yet, and I have a paper du next month regarding vertical damped mass-spring system.
