Not only was I impressed by the lights reaching the woods but, also by how fast the light got there! Lol. Just playing. Love your enthusiasm. Keep up the good work.
I am a Maglite fan too--I must say that it all depends on your circumstances, property-size and how many times your power goes out. I have a 3D regular bulb model that I bought 17 years ago (red in color and maybe only has one scratch on it). $18.00 I believe I paid for it. I have extra bulbs and batteries for it. Yes, the expensive LED models are cool, but my classic Maglight will always be my favorite. I live in a small apartment and I am sure 10 hours of runtime with a dimmer, yellow-colored bulb is suitable for me. However, great video review and yes--us Maglite lovers will appreciate each other.
Lol love the excitement in your voice. I'm here in the UK aged 34 & have had mags since I was 8. I'm looking at get a nice 3 D led one. I've two lovely one with the older bulls in. In fact they are still in perfect condition but love this new technology so warrants a new one. I also personally wouldn't go less then a 3D as it's useful for defence purposes if you get me. Lovely review thanks I'm sold on a great USA quality made torch.
There is testimony where some construction workers found a Maglite in concrete wall which they were demolishing it and it was still functioning. Great product from USA. To bad that now American products are Made in China, instead of Made in USA. I remember how good products you had, which were Made in USA. *+God bless America+*
Got my hubby one for Christmas. It was the only way I could get him to give up his old one. He wouldn't settle for any other kind of flashlight, even though his old Maglite had been far surpassed by newer technology. But he loves the new one. I got him the brackets too. Thanks for the recommendation, sir!
I know you probably won't reply any time soon but I just got a new job as a security guard at an outside mall, working night shift and decided to buy a flashlight since the company doesn't have flashlights. I went to Walmart and loved the look and feel of the Maglite ML50L. I tried it out and holy it's bright! You should defiantly try it and make a video of you haven't already lol.
I found the 3rd gen 2 D cell maglite on ebay $39 free shipping. I have a maglite that I have owned since about 1985 it still works great. I own 5 maglites in various sizes all the way down to the AAA pocket light. Thanks for the heads up on the 3rd generation. Take care and have a great thanksgiving.
I've been a fan of Maglite forever. Had a 3 D Cell one years ago, got damaged and couldn't get it repaired. Bought 4 DCell one, was stolen. Both were incandescent bulb flashlights. Have the small AAA and AA one too. Ordered one of those 3rd gens at a good price today. There is just something to a Maglite, you pressing the button reminded me instantly of mine. The weight, water resistance, setting of light cone, etc.
Maglites are really fun to collect for some reason. Maybe it's because they're in so many movies or something. I stick with them for the USA made reason. Princeton Tec is another USA manufacturer that's pretty good.
Huddled close together in their house with bright lights shining in through small cracks in the walls, and the high pitched sounds of an excited retired trucker with a new flashlight, I should imagine your chickens are experiencing all the conditions of a close encounter! I bet they're saying "please don't abduct us aliens, we've got it too good in here!" :)
I wish I was as impressed with them as you are. My lovely wife got me one. It's a mini-mag. Had nothing but troubles with it. It was hard to get to come on. The bulb lasted less than a year. So it set's on a shelf. I have several free or nearly free LED ones that make it look sorry. SO I never bought another one. I was always told how great these are. Oh well. I guess we just got a lemon. Thanks for the vids. Hope you're enjoying the cool weather we sent you guys...LOL
+1timby Cool weather sucks!!! I want my 100,s back!!!! they have a lifetime warranty on the maglites and I got a phone call yesterday from the warranty department because I left a message on their machine with a couple question about the lights. they called me the morning after I did the video and answered my questions. call them up and send them the light. they may even just send you a replacement.
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Seems we just got a lemon. I kept it because it has a nice shell. I will give them a call. BTW ours didn't come with an extra lamp. I don't know where my wife got it. It was a stocking stuffer one Christmas. Thanks for the heads up. Hope you & your have a blessed & Happy Thanksgiving. God Bless
Well, I just spent my cash on a 3D Maglite from Brightguy.com. I'm 17 and I sure hope my grandparents don't get mad. I use my flashlights for going on adventures and camping trips with my friends, and this looks perfect for me. Thank you for the thorough review, and have a great day!
I’m not being mean or anything, but when I was 17, I was halfway around the world in the army. No one told me what to spend my money on. My wife graduated high school at 17 and moved out the next day. It’s amazing how much people have changed in a single generation.
I was shocked! I had written off mag lite as being stuck in the 90,s but I guess that were waiting for LED technology to become more reliable before jumping on board. I got a call from them today and they answered two questions I had. They are 100% American made and the LEDs are the Cree brand made in thier plant. The Cree brand LEDs are what I think of as the forerunners in the advancement and perfection of LED lighting. That was great to hear.
Just an FYI, Walmart price matches the big online retailers-including both Amazon and Academy-or even Walmart.com-just pull it up on your phone. I got the ML300L from Walmart for $28+tax...they matched an Amazon Seller. Walmart had them priced at $39
That's awesome man I'm a flashlight conosour from way back myself my grandfather had a 3d incandescent maglight beside his bed when I was a kid i grew up seeing that light all the time I kind of collect lights on a small scale I don't have a 3rd gen mag yet but am gonna buy one next Friday for sure! Great video brother
I'm with you-love Maglites. Check out the newer led solitaire-great keychain flashlight. Outside of being 100% US Made, they also have phenomenal fit and finish-the threads are silky smooth, and they have fantastic throw.
I have four Maglite and love them all. I recently bought the LED upgrade as well and boy, what a difference. I'll be looking for a 3rd gen next. I'll just tell my wife it's your fault that I spent more money on yet another flashlight.
You know there are a lot of ways to get a new flashlight. Leave the old one on the bumper and accidentally forget you left it there. Loan it to someone who never returns tools. Donate that $100.00 flashlight to good will and write it off during tax time.
Really interesting hearing you talk about battery life. That is one thing that always seems to go bad when you need it most. Gets me thinking specially since flash lights so easy to overlook and then kick yourself down the road when you really need them. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching. I don't see the 4 cell in anyone's product lineup so I'm guessing with the length battery life that you can get from the new LEDs,that there simply isn't a need for that long of a light anymore.
Nice! I abandoned them a decade ago, but will now take another look at Maglite. They were all I used growing up as well. Nice defensive weapons even when the batteries are dead.
I am with your BCtruck i am about your age and am amazed at what flashlights can do these days. I have a fenix AA flashlight that I EDC and never thought that a flashlight that small could put out a meaningful amount of light. I walk about 3 miles ever night and only have to change that battery once a week.
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Curse you BCtruck (kidding). You have activated my flashlight fetish. I have spent the last hour searching the web and drooling at this flash light. I can see i am going to have to buy one of these.
That's pretty nice. Maybe I'll get a Maglite or two. The lifetime warranty is good, too. That way, if I have to crack it over a bad guy's head, i'll be able to get fixed if it breaks.
My brother stuck his between two cars to straighten out the bumper on one by using the other car pushing on it with the maglight and it didn't do anything but scratch the paint. I don't think a skull will do much to it.
I'm glad someone else has a fetish for flashlights my wife has accused me many times..hehe but after the last three I bought 2 weeks ago I told her not to worry because my next and last light will fry eggs so it'll be dual purpose...lol
+rchopp I can control it! I can stop buying flashlights anytime! I accidently shined the new light in my eyes and burned out 7 more braincells, which is bad because after the 70,s, I only had 14 left.
There are many smaller and brighter lights out there, BUT most of them only last 60-90 minutes on high. The newest 3D can do high for 17 hours. That's insane.
nicodimus2222 I'm still using these lights every night. I live in an area where coyotes will eat you dogs if you don't go out with them and I take one of these flashlights with me twice a night and early am. They still amaze me at the brightness.
Its because High isnt really high. On most high end flash lights, 500 lumens is between low and medium and last much longer than 17 hours on the 18650 or 26650 batteries
not bright enough compare to the price that expensive... with that expensive price, i can get few and far more brighter flashlight at more cheap such as sofirn or astrolux than more than 1000lumen... dont understand what the point of big flashlight if it cant perform better than small light..
@@harisyoung4110 I like it. However there are differences in the build quality/heavy duty value, the old one I have feels more solid. I'll be using my old version if needing to feel secure.
@@_Area-51 if the old incandescent bulb one im also like it because the colour rendition in the wood is good, im can see the green colour of grass and tree... but if the newer led mag im really regret buying it because the led cool colour make the grass and tree colour be greyish.. if led light im always prefer cheap chinese brand such as convoy or astrolux because they have a lot variant of led colour temperature to be choose from cool white to warm white... im prefer neutral white 5000k on led if using it in wood but sadly maglite doesnt offer a choice of the led..
@@_Area-51 if you like big flashlight that size like 4d maglite, maybe you can watch some review here in youtube about convoy L6 flashlight and L2 ... at the same size of mag but it perform nearly 4 times brighter than mag and more runtimes with rechargeable 26650 battery.. and it cost only $40 for a big light that use cree highpower xhp70 led.
Hey Buddy, I'm a Mage fun for the last 25 years. My 1st security job I was issue a 3 battery flashlight we wasn't allowed batons due too insurance reasons, but my Mage work as good or even better. I currently own 5 different sizes. I love my Mage flashlight ...
those are excellent, I've always been a fan of lights. Constantly use those little cree or ultra fire, they have different or no names. AA battery lasts weeks with how long they are on, out with dogs, search & destroy rodeo after a spider crawl on me at night and other stuff. 120 some hour life is amazing.
Those are really cool. I have bookmarked that website. I am going to order me a couple of them. I have been needing some new lights for a while. Thanks. Mike
+Oldvet1946 Its nice to have that many lights and parts all in one place. I ordered the brackets last night and they have already shipped this morning.
I have seen many maglite thrown away for bad bad switch. Not sure how they can repair them the way they are put together. One thing with the LED is you can use rechargeable, whereas the krypton and others will take out the bulb if the batteries run low longer than a conventional battery cell would.
I own a maglite like your black one and the bulb is always very dim even with new batteries. I scraped the contact the top battery touches with a screwdriver and sandpaper but nothing changed with the brightness of the bulb. Is there any way I can fix this to make the bulb brighter?
What kind of bulb is it? If it's an incandescent bulb ( a bulb with a filament ) than you won't be able to make it brighter. If it's an LED, just replace it with a new one of higher lumen.
I love my mag lites but so many people on you tube are pushing thrunite and the o light but those can run upwards of $200+. The only thing I don't like about the mag lite is my batteries keep corroding. I did see a review of the thrunite TN35 (I think) that has 2450 lumens. It was impressive.
Welcome to the wonderful world of modern LEDs! Just so you know, Maglite is still trailing. Nitecore's TM series (tiny monster) gets up around 4000 lumens. Of course, not made in the USA.
Another toy store website for my husband - LOL I think I got schooled in flashlights :) what will we do with our Dewalt Flashlights...LOL - Bill - if you are watching this....BC Truck has the best flashlights....let him have them.... LOL American made....even better. Thanks for sharing!
I didn't know watching your vid on a flashlight would cause me to go into a flashlight frenzy or I would have stayed away tonight. Now I got to have one of those too, each of them, all of them, bwa ha ha ha ha!!!! Give me light, now!!!! wife be danged!
Before you do, make sure it won't be to cold outside when she finds out. Bring plenty of blankets. After a while, you get used to sleeping outside on the porch.
+Craig Arndt Ive found that if I want something new (tool, flashlight, lawnmower) that all I have to do is loan it to my wifes son. I never see it again and my wife feels so bad that she has a D bag for a son that she buys me a new one.
Oh sweet Christmas!!! I shouldn't be laughing but I am! Yeah, you can't control adult kids but if your wife will replace any misplaced items that happen to loan out and never return, well, sounds like a good woman making things right. :-)
Have you compared the 3D cell to the ultrafire to see how they compare? I know the ultrafire says 1000 but with it being a cheap Chinese built flashlight you can't be sure how true the rating is. I have several old maglites, used to be amazed at how bright they were back in the day, todays tech is just awesome.
+walt2t Ya know,,, I gave some consideration to that but I decided that it was really comparing cadillacs to hyundais. both lights are fantastically bright but they arent even close in quality. In fact, I have a repair video on the ultrafires because there is something that happens to them so often that I thought showing the repair would help people. ultrfire doesnt have the lifetime warranty either and if they did,,,where would you bring it for warranty since they ship right from china. ultrafires fill a certain niche. That is,they are relatively inexpensive and when they break, like everything else chinese, you just throw it out and get another. maglite, you buy one and you have it for life. If I find other lights that are in the same league as mag lite, I will do a comparison video. damn! sorry to be so long winded!
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I've carried an ultrafire for a couple years now as part of my EDC and use it almost everyday, usually multiple times a day and for the price it's not bad but it doesn't feel anything like a maglite. I've thought about the LED kits before for mine but now that I see what you get with them or from a new LED version I know I will be adding a new maglite to my wish list.
5 months on of having both the 2D and 3D new gens and still consider them the best large Mag ever and the best LED lights of 2015. Put glass lenses in them both and use them both a LOT. I actually prefer the 2D it is more than bright enough and just balances in my hand better. Put glare coated glass in them both. More than worth the few extra bucks for the glass lenses your beam definition improves noticeably. Was surprised to learn Mag designed these to run at optimum on alkaline cells. You get less run time and poorer power delivery with NiMH cells. Interesting. Love em. They appear to be dead on output specs and of course the beams are wide as hell and they throw pretty far. The multi mode option is a PIA though there has got to be an easier way to go through them
Great video, very refreshing to see a non thrunite flashlight video. lol I still love my old maglite, I was as happy as a pig in muck when I first got it, I recently did the terralux conversion on it too. Nice to see the evolution of the lights to what they are now, very tempting but I'm not allowed to buy anymore flashlights haha Atb Dave
Setting 3 (L.E.O.-momentary/full/eco) is the ideal setting-that way an unintentional click won't leave it on and kill the batteries. Especially in a backpack.
nope not at all. I have the 2d LED Mag and love it. It is truly amazing. Im also pretty impressed with my dewalt headlamp that this is pretty bright not sure how bright but I think its 250 lumens on high or something like that. Pretty dang bright for a head lamp
It uses 3 AAA batteries and is LED very light weight and comfortable too Im Sorry I totally lied That was another LED head light I was thinking of. This one is DWHT70440 Product Features 104 Lumens of bright white light 2 Meter impact resistant Water resistant Shatter resistant lens for durability Anti-slip strap keeps headlamp securely attached to hard hat High/Low setting 6 hours 23 minutes runtime on high setting, 29 hours 48 minutes on low setting Runs on 3 AAA batteries It just seems brighter than that to me. Funny thing about headlamps. I never thought much of them and for a stocking stuffer one year I got one and fell in love with them. Now I use them all the time. Very useful little lights
The other head lamp was an Energizer 250 Lumen Vision HD and Focus Headlight. HDD32EW. I haven't used it but I bought it for my brother last year for Christmas. He liked it but he is totally not in to tools at all. LOL ( I don't understand him LOL)
Rick, I just got a call from the mag lite company. They answered two questions I had,but unfortunately not in time for me to add it to the video. The mag kites are 100% American made and the LEDs are made by Cree,in thier own mag lite plant in Ontario Ca. To me,that just moved this up to my top of the line light. If you get one,my view is for a few more inches in length and a little more weight, you get better than twice the length of time on battery life. The 3D cell would be my pick.
I now have three Ultrafire flashlights and it's all your fault.... Lol love the little flashlights just got rechargeables and a charger which ups the voltage and made a much brighter going from 1.5 volts with a AA battery to 3.7 volts with a rechargeable but like you said they only last for about 20 or 30 minutes. you got me wanting a double or triple D cell Maglite now dang it. so I guess I will also have to get a flashlight holder for my bicycle was planning on using the ultra fires for it.
they have a trade in program, send an old incandescent in and they call you and you can pick one off their site for about half off. I'm waiting on the 6cell led that you can really only get from them 694 lumens at 71 hours
Ikhwanul Fikri and made like all Chinese products, ready to fail and prone to break. Painted with poisonous lead paint or otherwise designed to stop working the second it lands in some Americans home.
I think. your opinion about past china products. now China has very many quality products. like cheap "convoy" led flashlights or many other highly qualified ones.
Wrong! China floods my country with poorly made junk that breaks often. Its made cheap by people that dont care about quality and take no pride in their work. I go to great lengths to Buy American made products, even if its more expensive. American made products last forever and are well made by people who are proud of the work they do.
yes. really appreciate that. don't hate them too much. it will make you blind to the changes that China is doing. I also do not deny that there are so many perishable producks from China. but not a few of the very high quality products they make. yes, it can last very long.
The chinese steal technology from my country, put that technology into cheaply made junk products, and sell it back to us. They also bootleg copy our movies and other intellectual properties. They have poisoned our children with contaminated food products and lead paint on toys. They have killed thousands of pets with dog food that was laced with a chemical to make it appear as though it had a higher protien content. They are Godless heathens!
I just got a ml300l 3D 3rd Gen and was just wondering how it will act when the batterys get low will it just keep getting dimmer or will it just go out suddenly? Thanks
David Sparks this is cause there's circuits board controlling voltage and current yo protect your led, if it were directly at attached to the battery it would get dimmer.
I have a new 3rd gen aaa mini mag led that will get really dim on alkaline batteries before going out but with rechargables it will only dim a little before blinking.I own over 10 led flashlights and they all act a little different when they get low but if the new 3rd gen 3d mag led ends up being one that shut off without warning that will be fine I am very happy with it anyway and so far the battery life has been incredible 2 months of daily use and still on the first set of batteries.
+Buddy Bouchez Buddy, Im afraid the batteries have leaked acid and you will have to get real aggressive to get them out. I would take the other end off as well as the tail cap and see if you can shove them out with a rod of some kind. but usually when the acid leaks out, there isnt much left to try and save the light.
the 3d cell 625 lumen is just marginally brighter than the 2d cell 524 lumens but the 2d cell is brighter on the second and third setting the 3c cell is 611 lumens a smaller head but a more concentrated light though a smaller beam i own all three would never go back to the old version maglites such a difference
Great video and I liked your jokes and humour during the tests at the end haha sunburn Last week I bought a LED Lenser MT6 pocket flash light 600 lumens and it is a beast :) Mind you i paid $50 from a second hand goods store for it. Are you familiar with the LED Lenser range of pocket flash lights? Some have 1000 lumens like the P7R.
@@bctruck Well after looking at your video and seeing online the alternatives, I ended up picking up the ML300L and I am not disappointed. It is extremely bright and very hardy. Thanks for the information you provided in your video!
If you find something on the Maglite website and you can't find it anywhere else check out zbattery.com. They are the official distributors for Maglite and they have every single product that Maglite makes including parts and special edition lights. I'm thinking of picking myself up a special edition American flag 3D first gen LED!
Well. I stil have a 'maglight with glass.. Would love to convert it to led... But makes we kinda back off. I have a white maglite stock. Even registered.. Not really in to mods. Gause love to keep t stock values. Its a white body. 3D.. Geuss not many made of. M
These new lights are FAR FAR superior to the old incandescents. In this video, he had replaced the incandescent bulb in the 4d with a much improved led, and it was still blown away by even eco mode on the 2d. If he had the original incandescent bulb in there, it probably would not have even showed up on video. I have the new mini mag he showed at the end and it is light years beyond the old 2d incandescents I had and even my dad's incandescent magcharger. Non led maglites are totally obsolete, and have been for about 10-15 years. Not worth the extra inch of metal for a vastly inferior light. If you want a big bat-light, they recently came out with a 6d 3rd gen led with almost 700 lumens, its about 20 inches long. That's not much brighter than these lights, but it has insane run time (71h, or about 3 days, on HIGH and 177h, or more than a week on ECO) Currently any 4 or 5 cell maglites you see are inferior, using incandescents or older style led.
I'm not sure about parts. I think there is circuitry in the 3rd gen lights that the old incandescent lights don't have. The LED that I did add the my old light did make a stark improvement but no comparison to the the newest line of lights. Bctruck,,,,, bringing "R,s" to the R-less,one family at a time. I have donations jars set up all over town to help defray the of bringing R,s to New England. Happy thanksgiving to and you e family my b other f om anothe mothe ! See? I even sacrificed a few of my own R,s so that needy New England children, might wake up Christmas morning to their very own R,s.
Lol at you worried about your wife finding out you spent $60 bucks on a flashlight. I just spent $380 on mine. She knows it's on the way (should be here this week), but has no idea of the cost. Uh oh...
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I hear ya. I see that you were very enthusiastic about the Maglites, and they are pretty impressive. Why not spend a bit more and get that WOW factor from the more impressive line of lights such as Nitecore, Thrunite, or Fenix? I know they are costly, and in real life there really is no REAL need for them, but they really do pack a mean punch of light. I just fell into this and already hooked. I have some high end lights, but none of them compare to the looks of the Maglites. Aesthetically they are flawless.
It was an accident! I fell and the instructions stuck to my glasses. When I got up I didn't realize why all I could see was white with letters everywhere. Before I knew it,I had inadvertently read a paragraph. I'll be more careful in the future. Now,about your address, I have a "letter" I'd like to mail you. Bwahahaha!!!!
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Nah its ok I have enough instructions unopened if I get board with the internet , But I could send you a brand new instruction book on our washing machine , The wife says its a riveting read, she should really get out more often LOL
Not only was I impressed by the lights reaching the woods but, also by how fast the light got there! Lol. Just playing. Love your enthusiasm. Keep up the good work.
These lights are even faster than the normal speed of light!! I think it just may be the atmospheric conditions in my back yard.

Had to believe they have come this far. Super bright!
I’m still loving my 3rd gen.
I'm with you-love Maglites. Check out the newer led solitaire-great keychain flashlight.
Outside of being 100% US Made, they also have phenomenal fit and finish-the threads are silky smooth, and they have fantastic throw.
I could be wrong, but i think this guy really likes flashlights
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Just mount one a them lights in the end of an aluminum baseball bat. More thud to go with the more light.
+tblbaby I don't want get within baseball bats length from "evil doers" I prefer to send my projectile love from a nice safe 20-30 feet away.
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Well, that is a more efficient method :)
Nice! I abandoned them a decade ago, but will now take another look at Maglite. They were all I used growing up as well. Nice defensive weapons even when the batteries are dead.
+lumspond yep. Even if you could light up somebodies world with it, you could make them see stars!!! LOL!!!
You should have waited a couple more years. Amazon has the 3D cell ones in LED now for $26.22
I am with your BCtruck i am about your age and am amazed at what flashlights can do these days. I have a fenix AA flashlight that I EDC and never thought that a flashlight that small could put out a meaningful amount of light. I walk about 3 miles ever night and only have to change that battery once a week.
I remember the old days. You might get an hour of poor light from a 2 D cell light. They have indeed come a long way.
+John Strabismus I think there is a skull cracking disclaimer in fine print.
Not a big mag guy but your video was good you earned a subscription from me I actually collect flashlights the wifey gets pissed when I buy them
There are many smaller and brighter lights out there, BUT most of them only last 60-90 minutes on high.
Great video, thank you for posting, this test was exactly what I was looking for! Thank toy again.
My 4D ML300L is on the way I can't wait :D
not bright enough compare to the price that expensive... with that expensive price, i can get few and far more brighter flashlight at more cheap such as sofirn or astrolux than more than 1000lumen... dont understand what the point of big flashlight if it cant perform better than small light..
I don't need my 4 cell anymore but I'm gonna keep it in my truck because it isn't an illegal weapons,,,,,,, just a harmless flashlight.
those are excellent, I've always been a fan of lights. Constantly use those little cree or ultra fire, they have different or no names. AA battery lasts weeks with how long they are on, out with dogs, search & destroy rodeo after a spider crawl on me at night and other stuff. 120 some hour life is amazing.
+tblbaby yep. LEDs changed the whole lighting ball game.
Been looking into maglite for a while. They make great gear
I have seen many maglite thrown away for bad bad switch. Not sure how they can repair them the way they are put together.
One thing with the LED is you can use rechargeable, whereas the krypton and others will take out the bulb if the batteries run low longer than a conventional battery cell would.
+PartisanGuerrilla I dont know but they have a lifetime warranty and repair centers. I also passed over a video that showed how to disassemble one.
I still have an old 4D that I used 30 years ago. At one time an agency I worked with required you have a 4D maglite hanging from your duty belt.
+buzzsah for uhhhhhhhh,,,,,illumination purposes,,,,, yeah,,,illumination purposes.
I love my mag lites but so many people on you tube are pushing thrunite and the o light but those can run upwards of $200+. The only thing I don't like about the mag lite is my batteries keep corroding. I did see a review of the thrunite TN35 (I think) that has 2450 lumens. It was impressive.
+James Montgomery My God! That would give someone skin cancer and brain damage if you shined it on them!!!
I`m sure I seen the light over the pond in England Brad....haha... Terrific technology...
+ORAC ZEN I need to be careful or ill have planes trying to land in the garden.
Welcome to the wonderful world of modern LEDs! Just so you know, Maglite is still trailing. Nitecore's TM series (tiny monster) gets up around 4000 lumens. Of course, not made in the USA.
No no no no no!!!!!! Now I have to have one!
Another toy store website for my husband - LOL I think I got schooled in flashlights :) what will we do with our Dewalt Flashlights...LOL - Bill - if you are watching this....BC Truck has the best flashlights....let him have them.... LOL American made....even better. Thanks for sharing!
+Modern Pioneers Yeah,,,,its probably not a good thing that I found this site!
Brad that was illuminating and fun to watch thanks tom,
Thanks! It was actually a fun video to do.
my favorite is the ML50LX 3C 611 lumens
I didn't know watching your vid on a flashlight would cause me to go into a flashlight frenzy or I would have stayed away tonight. Now I got to have one of those too, each of them, all of them, bwa ha ha ha ha!!!! Give me light, now!!!! wife be danged!
Before you do, make sure it won't be to cold outside when she finds out. Bring plenty of blankets. After a while, you get used to sleeping outside on the porch.
I cannot find my Maglite. Its driving me nuts. I will have to check out the new led one... No reason to buy another unless you lose it!
These are 40 bucks at walmart in my area.
My go to flashlight. Cant wait for them to release the 1000 lumen recharchable ml150lr.
Ill have to look into that!
+walt2t if I had known that mag lite was so far advanced from the 80,s technology, I wouldn't have even bothered with the kids for my older lights.
The multi mode option is a PIA though there has got to be an easier way to go through them
Where did you get the glass lenses I want to get some for my Mags?
Great video, very refreshing to see a non thrunite flashlight video. lol I still love my old maglite, I was as happy as a pig in muck when I first got it, I recently did the terralux conversion on it too. Nice to see the evolution of the lights to what they are now, very tempting but I'm not allowed to buy anymore flashlights haha Atb Dave
Not allowed? I think I should do a video on how to sneak more flashlights into the house.
haha Yes that would be a very handy video. lol
I think I'm getting a new flashlight, thanks for the awesome video.
If I was only going to have one flashlight,it would be the 3D 3rd gen mag lite.
Setting 3 (L.E.O.-momentary/full/eco) is the ideal setting-that way an unintentional click won't leave it on and kill the batteries. Especially in a backpack.
SOLD!!!
Whts the max length of light..
love your enthusiasm I'm right there with ya my friend
+2LateIWon I showed my wife and she was equally as blown away at the brightness. so im not a freak!!
nope not at all. I have the 2d LED Mag and love it. It is truly amazing. Im also pretty impressed with my dewalt headlamp that this is pretty bright not sure how bright but I think its 250 lumens on high or something like that. Pretty dang bright for a head lamp
+2LateIWon would that dewalt headlamp be AA? Is it LED? I've not seen one.
It uses 3 AAA batteries and is LED very light weight and comfortable too
Im Sorry I totally lied That was another LED head light I was thinking of.
This one is DWHT70440
Product Features
104 Lumens of bright white light
2 Meter impact resistant
Water resistant
Shatter resistant lens for durability
Anti-slip strap keeps headlamp securely attached to hard hat
High/Low setting 6 hours 23 minutes runtime on high setting, 29 hours 48 minutes on low setting
Runs on 3 AAA batteries
It just seems brighter than that to me.
Ordered from 'maglight them selfs.. A white 'maglight.. And glas. Bulb and projector
Cool. I may have to buy a new one for my future truck.
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I think my old light was a 6 or 7 cell. It was long.
+MIKE MAYERAN so you have a steering wheel on your bike and now you're gonna have headlights.
That's one I playing around with, I also have a 7 speed cruiser Bicycle that I mostly ride. the steering wheel bicycle is a coaster brake.
they have a trade in program, send an old incandescent in and they call you and you can pick one off their site for about half off. I'm waiting on the 6cell led that you can really only get from them 694 lumens at 71 hours

I prefer flashlights from China. led cree and very bright. :)
Thanks
David Sparks they get dimmer, all lights get dimmer when battery's get low
My 1st gen mini mag led does not get dim it just shuts off so no not all lights get dimmer when the batteries get low.
B.Eduardo nope not true. The newest lights have chips that make it go full output and then just go out when dead
Best review ever!
It's a 2000. 3D cell.
White glas on top.. No plastics.
After 19 years bulp work like new.

Hi Brad, love your videos. I have a mag light I found. I can't get the battires out. any suggestions. Thanks

I would take the other end off as well as the tail cap and see if you can shove them out with a rod of some kind. but usually when the acid leaks out, there isnt much left to try and save the light.

great for beating the shit out of trouble makers love huge flashlight
your original one is bigger so would rather stick with it 😁😁
I'm huge, I have no problem with trouble makers. 😊
true but still to have a weapon lol
