  • After weeks of steady rain, FINALLY .... a break in the weather. Wanting to make the most of it, I headed up into the Cascade mountains to scout for dispersed camping and for a night of solo camping, right along a very swollen Snoqualmie river.

Thanks man! Anytime I can find new dispersed camp spots in the Cascades in the winter, I count that as a huge 'W'

Dude knows how to find some good camping sites. I'm also searching for places to camp for next weekend. I need to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

First time watching this content. Nice, keep it simple and keep it realistic. Some of the overlanding channels are no longer realistic with a $100,000 worth of equipment.
    Keep it real!

Welcome to the channel! I agree with your sentiment that it can be hard to relate to some of those channels with $$$$$ builds.

I spent two nights a few weeks ago camping at that first site, sleeping in my truck camper. It worked out fine. I spent the first night in that sort of overgrown quarry pit on the other road. This was a very enjoyable area. You can tell from the parking at the trailhead and the signage, it must get super busy in the summer. Thanks for the video.

Nice! Yeah, that first site was beautiful. Like you said, I bet that whole area gets PACKED in the Summer.

Excellent outing. That spot you were considering (at around the 4:40ish mark) would be great for the Gazelle and a buddy heater or just layer up. Those trees looked like alder so maybe revisit that spot in a month or two and see the leaves popping out.
Nice vents for the windows, those will come in handy during the buggy seasons.

Did you change out the radio @wheretonextoverland? That doesn't look like the factory but I'm looking over your shoulder at it 😆. This looks like it was a terrific spot!! Keep making these videos...just love them.

Yeah, it's a Pioneer head unit. Previous owner installed it, and man, it does a lot to "modernize" the interior. Bluetooth, backup camera, Car Play and Android Auto.
Glad you're enjoying the videos! I really appreciate the support!

Thanks! Yeah, normally we totally overlook it for camping, but it's got some nice options and it's about as close to home as we can dispersed camp

Either one you are close to the road but the second one i would take to without a tent. It's been unseasonably warm here in Canada to.

@@WheretoNextOverland I went solo last weekend towards the Olympic Peninsula and had a rough time accessing Lake Cushman ( closed ) and Hamma Hamma campground ( closed ) so dispersed camping was it for me. I scored an amazing spot somehow and the sunrise view was just incredible. Forgot the key to my RTT so i slept inside my 4Runner. Lol

You got a weboost considering you go by yourself at times?

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  11 месяцев назад +1

No weboost (I enjoy myself more without cell service) but I do have a Garmin inReach Mini. Typically when I arrive at my destination, I'll use it to send a text to my wife letting her know I'm safe along with my coordinates.
Great thing with something like a Garmin is it works off satellites, so it'll work no matter how far away from cell towers you get
