I was literally hoping there was another place to buy journals at. 🙂 But great tips. I saw "Journal" in a title the other day, and nothing else. I've written a few sellers questions about their journals and got zero response. Confusing journals that need basic video flip-throughs. Flip- throughs can be silent, or some talking/explaining will help. Please, no loud music, or music at all. It's distracting and a turn off. Understanding what a lapbook journal is and what it isn't. (One of my interests).
I also read to leave out commas in your title. The algorithm doesn’t consider them and it just uses up characters you could use for another word. ❤ Shirley
Thank you! I wish you great success selling your handmade treasures. I have found an Instagram account with pictures of the handmade item can help a lot too. Just make sure to add a lot of hashtags to the picture like #handmade #junkjournal ETC. 💕
I loved this video. I am new to journaling and am anxious to start my Etsy shop. This was very good information on getting started and I hope you will post more videos like this for everyone.
New to journaling and so excited to get into it. Crafts...well, I breathe crafts But I've not tried this yet. Your work is just lovely. Great advise about keywords! And tags! And Google will take the beginning of your Etsy description so, like you said, wording counts :) ! Happy Crafting!
Thank you for the info, I'm a new subbie and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and success. Please make more videos with more info, its really helpful!! Your journals are beautiful too!!
What I’ve found from most of the groups on Facebook is they won’t let you just post your own things unless you’ve been commenting on the posts of others, and commenting often. The groups want their pages to be full of social interaction. If you don’t have the time to do that, or it’s not something you’re comfortable doing, then be aware a post showing pictures of your own journal (even if not mentioning it being for sale) will be deleted and you’ll be given a warning.
That is true Sue, But also there are sometimes just selling groups associated with each crafting group. Like Junk Journal Junkies has a selling group/page Junk Journal Junkies Boutique where you can post journals for sale. So great point! Look around for the "selling" groups not just the sharing ones! Thank you so much for your comment 😀
Hi , thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on selling junk journals.. I never heard of the place "Isty" ? And was trying to look up such a site but found nothing. Could you tell me where this place is to sell junk journals.? Or are you trying to say ""Etsy".. pronunciation spelling doing the best I can because it's the name of a store so it wouldn't be an addictionary. Eht- 'see.. but if you are really saying Isty then could you give the site link please Thank you.
Thanks for posting. I am a hobby journal maker and will probably sell at Farmers Markets or Christmas markets. What do you think about selling by the number of signatures??
I have sold at a Flea Market before. The small journals with one signature sold the most. I think the were like 3 by 5 or 6. The big ones got looked at but not really sold. I definitely think hard cover and hard spine should be priced more than one signature soft covers. On Etsy they are always priced more, so really that is kind of the more signatures the more price. Just like a fabric lace cover is usually more. Good luck selling! I hope that helps some 😊
Hi Kelkayla, Generally speaking for others reading here, right now prices are down for journals. So I have all mine lower than I had in years past. Most sales are slow but there are some selling, still just not as fast as they use to. Thank you so much for asking!
Good advice but I had to mute it and scan through and just read the tips. The repeated mispronunciation of ETSY (Eh See) was distracting as was the rambling and hesitation in the speaker were too distracting for me. To be honest if I did it I'd probably be the same way which is why I haven't attempted to do a RUclips video, :) I'd probably drive myself crazy with my awkward pauses and segways. I don't think I could sit through another video. At least the vocal tone was pleasant.
Aww man I was hoping to be a reality star some day. your comments have dashed my hopes lol Maybe the awkward presentation will help you remember the free search engine optimization' advice given. Thank you for your comments, they brightened my day!
Thank you. I’ve wondered about this as I’ve watched so many junk journal tutorials. Thank you for all the helpful tips and for sharing.
Thank you Dorothy! I am so glad you liked the tips and I hope they helped. 😊
Great tips! BTW....The site is called ETSY, not ESTY. :)
all I'm hearing is Istie, kept thinking what is Istie? Sorry it is a bit of a toungue twister break it down it's ET SEE

Are you saying “Etsy”?
Hi, I loved your advice. I would love to speak with you 💗
Is izdey a new platform?
I think she means Etsy
FYI, it's pronounced "ett-see"
Thanks for saying that. I could not figure what she was talking about.
New subscriber here!
