I wouldn’t be surprised if any classic sml fans would abandoned sml after this pathetic excuse for a “movie”.But for me personally,the most disappointing thing I found was the fact that Jeffy wasn’t killed off.
Yeah that cheap ending which ruined the whole “sad moment” they had at the end, which also killed the “Omg i can’t believe this happened!!” vibe of the whole ending.
I think it was a little above average for an SML video. Much better than the regular videos, but not as good as what it could’ve been before the cease and desist. I loved the beginning scene and final chase scene (plus the explosion part is freaking awesome). However, the thing that annoys me the most is the long ass couch scene with Rose, Jeffy, and the cops on the phone. That dragged out scene alone negatively affects the score majorly. I will say, in defense of Logan, I can tell he tried. I just don’t think he’s good at storytelling. But I gotta respect the time he put into it and the parts of the special that were actually good. Younger me woulda LOVED this, but present me just simply likes it. It’s cool for what it is. Now, I wouldn’t say it’s DISASTROUS. But that’s just me. Definitely messy tho.
Honestly, the entire 2nd act is just horrendous in terms of pacing. Remove like a good chunk of it, and a pretty good amount of the pacing problems are already solved. Logan definitely put in a lot of effort when it comes to the settings and special effects, but that alone can't save a bad story, especially if it's badly paced. Would I call this the worst SML video ever? No, not by a long shot, but I still think it's a very poor attempt to try to replicate what would've been the movie. Give this a couple rewrites and a significantly shorter runtime, and we'd be on the right track
It honestly just painfully average. And compare to the cute mario bros movies which put a lot of effort, while the sml movie just put the bare Minimum.

Mainly because the SML movie was planned in 2017 or 2018 and during this time this is when the cheating problem happened. causing the movie to get cancelled and Logan went insane. then all of his videos got demonetised. switched channels AND GOT DEMONETISED AGAIN. switched and also stopped posting and then finally to the current channel. At least it came back. there’s more but it’s mostly about Logan so uh yeah

If you want naturality just watch Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, TMNT Mutant Mayhem, and Spectacular Spider-Man those are all great movies and TV shows and all of their characters and the characters' lines don't feel bad or unnatural or cringy or corny in any way those things are straight-up MASTERPIECES!
I still kind of respect Mario for not telling Brooklyn Guy to bring Jeffy to foster care because my friend was in foster care and she said they took her toys and stuff and that was really sad she didn't have a very good childhood but at least Jeffy didn't have to go through that and also I think my friend is out of foster care now and she's almost 18 so she's about to graduate so that's good for her.
I expected something to happen to Jeffy's inheritance, sml has a status quo to keep and stuff, and it would be a huge lost if they finally got rid of Jeffy

There's a fan made sequel video where Jeffy's father is still dead and the guy that we see on tv is a payed actor and it later gets revealed that it was all a plan set by Goodman so he could buy all of the valuable paintings for a dollar. So that he could later resell them all for billions of dollars. If this was an official video I would be less irritated by this disappointing video.
yeah some of this is kinda unreal they could've found out they didn't hire a clown but you gotta understand plot convinence yes it's unreal but it has to be done in order for the story to work yes it's a "movie"that has to be serious. but this is sml what else do you expect.
Plot convenience can only excuse so much and can only be used so much. If plot convenience was the answer to something small, then that's fine. However, if it's the answer to a major point of the story, like Screwball getting into the party, then that's bad writing. Every story needs at least one little contrivance in order to work, but there's a huge difference between a minor contrivance and a huge leap in logic just so the story could progress

If any of you watched the behind the scenes of this video on Chilly or Lance’s channel, Logan mentions that this project took a whole week to film. Logan has also mentioned in the past that they usually take a couple hours to film a normal video.

The fake emotional ending actually could’ve worked. Instead of having the status quo, have Jeffy jump from the fan, with Mario not seeing him, and spend a good more amount of time showing his way home. Jeffy said he did so much after, well then great show it. Also have Mario take longer to realize how much Jeffy meant to him and maybe show him getting the goddamn money.

I only watched this because of it being the follow up video from Jeffy's Parents, I didn't watch it expecting it to be good or great, and I feel as if I was right to think that. Honestly though, SML wasn't good even before Jeffy was introduced in my opinion, all the rasict and dirty jokes (shudder), if SML finally decides to retire one day, it wouldn't affect me at all. Also, oh boy MagicMarioBros, when I first found his channel I did find it enjoyable at first, but the more I watched I started to get so sick of Jr.'s stupidity, that I feel like he's almost like a carbon-copy of SML's version of Bowser Jr. and I hope he makes him smarter because dumb doesn't always equal funny. This movie was so contrived and overly bloated It could have been a 10-15 minute video easily, but they had to stretch it out Like you said, I gotta give him props for at least actually putting it out despite the hell it went through, but it was a disappointment But, if you want some not horrible videos to watch, I’ve got a few plush series you might be interested in I sadly had to stop making plush videos for the time being, due to lack of time to make ones I’d be proud of, but I do still have all of them up
