SML is a bit like Thomas. Both ended in 2021 and were replaced with a bad reboot but both have spawned the potential for their extended universes.

You can tell the whole "puppet situation" hit this movie's production like a truck. Im pretty sure it was supposed to be much more like the trailer and original plot before the """"""cease and desist"""" made them reset the whole production. (If it was even being worked on before.)
The movie would've worked if it focused more on classic characters, they actually got the million dollars, the video was longer, three characters were actually killed off, and the original storyline. Also using the old plushes.

I like that message of encouraging people, fans, content creators, whomever to make their own sml content.
I do too, Because like Dab said towards the end of the video, SML at this point in time doesn't stand for anything. It doesn't MEAN SuperMarioLogan anymore. (If anything, It's more accurately "Super Jeffy's Abusive and Cruel Dad Logan". That's the role Mario was gradually reduced to before the switch to the puppets.) And it is truly disappointing to see how much Logan has fallen from the peak of his career all the way to the present day. It seems like the fans of Logan who used to watch SML and remember it for what it once was have chosen to revive those memories through their own SML-inspired videos.
How I would fix the ending to SML movie:
Have Jeffy be alive, Marvin and Rose are reunited with him. But then Jeffy reveals but he feels bad for all the annoyance and abuse Marvin has been through because of him and he thinks he shouldn't suffer because of him anymore. So Jeffy decides to start a new life somewhere else and he promises to come visit every now and then. The final scene of the movie is where a bus is coming to pick Jeffy up and he says goodbye to his adopted parents, his friends from school, BTG, Simmons and Chef PP. Then, right before he leaves, he decides to give Marvin a token of his gratitude in the form of an envelope. Jeffy hugs his adopted parents one last time and boards the bus onto the road to a bright future. As the bus leaves, Marvin opens the envelope, and inside is the address of where he and Rose can visit Jeffy, plus a note saying that he'll love his family and friends for always no matter how far away he is. Then the final scene in the movie is the bus leaving the neighborhood as the camera pans into the evening sky. You can still have Jeffy be in school and all that but at least this would give him some proper closure to his character.

Or if you wanna make Jeffy stay. Have him grow up a little bit and maybe Mario can learn to let lose a little. A new beginning is born between the two where they let go of each other’s necks.

He’s an 18 year old who smacks his diaper, makes obnoxious sounds, throws and breaks stuff, has temper tantrums, etc. Jeffy only seems to be getting more and more immature every video but anything to keep Logan’s biggest moneymaker in tact! It’s pathetic and almost poetic on how bottom-of-the-line scum it is.

Think about it, Jeffy’s dad is still alive so that inheritance money plot line went nowhere. And everyone saw Nancy’s death coming. So ask yourself this, what will carry over from Jeffy’s 18th Birthday another than Jeffy’s age?
@@tfgc9315 Well obviously Nancy dying does carry over regardless on whether or not we expected it. So I wouldn’t say nothing carried over from this video. Unless if Logan somehow retcons Nancy’s death in order to make another “movie” in case of his views plummeting. I honestly wouldn’t put it past him at this point.
I agree when Dabhdude said that SuperMarioLogan and SML are two different things. SuperMarioLogan is great, SML on the other hand is terrible.
They're the same thing, yeah there aren't any nintendo characters now, but you older fans (and I'm one too) act like everything since 2016 was terrible, I get that things like Jeffy, filler, and Jr being a dick (I never saw anything dumb in it), there were good things, and I know you guys are gonna say there was filler, over used jokes/characters, and a lot more, but to me, that' the only thing you guy say, but I'm digressing here, in my own eyes, SML isn't so terrible, but I may just be more used to the sitcom style

Things I liked in this video:
The cinematography. I can tell Logan went all out with that this time around and I can tell he wanted this to be a huge video.
Set pieces. I know it’s not much when you really think about it, but I get so bored with every SML video taking place on the red couch or in the house, so new set pieces are always nice.
Some jokes like Screwball acting like a stripper and Mario saying they don’t need that and Cody saying “oh yes we do” and Jacques Pierre Francois saying “Jeffy… fuck off” on the news made me laugh out loud. A rarity for SML nowadays.
Now for the stuff I didn’t like:
It felt like a half assed attempt at making the movie with the puppets. Because of this, Logan had to break so many promises like having every SML character ever, being an hour long, etc.
Dumb plot conveniences by bringing Jacques Pierre Francois back to life and Jeffy not actually dying in the explosion (of course)
While some jokes like the ones I mentioned above worked, others just felt dumb and dragged like when Mario was on the phone after being kidnapped and Jeffy just hanging up and Rosalina not believing him.
Ending was cliche as all hell and I saw it coming from a mile away. It’s just Jeffy’s Parents all over again where Mario hates Jeffy and is excited to get rid of him, but then changes his mind when he misses him.
Overall: For just another SML video this was actually above average. For what this was supposed to be treated as, the long awaited SML movie Logan had promised since a million subs, it falls flat.
This is pretty much my thoughts on this video in a nutshell.
This kinda made me realize how great of a character nancy is. Not speaking off her personality, no, she's deadbeat and abusive. but every single time she is in a video it adds plot, emotion, tension and takes place in multiple scenes. Nancy also really plays her role well and as a villain, she can be brought into so many scenarios creating really cool content. But i guess this is canon sooo.. bye nancy
Pretty much unlike Mario and Rosalina because they're basically nonexistent to SML now only when Jeffy isn't involved in a video.

The movie is nothing special, it’s obvious. It plays like any other modern SML videos. Everything you said about the flaws and the only two good things(camera angles & practical effects) is really overall my thoughts exactly. Oh of course the ending is literally the biggest disappointment ever to exist.
Oh also SML Twitter Community for no reason hype it up, eat it up, and praise it like it’s the best thing to exist like bruh what? I mean I get it but the video is just….truly nothing special.

To be fair, I never actually saw this as "The SML Movie", I only saw it as a birthday special for one of the characters, and in that regard, it was pretty good. Granted, it is flawed, we could've gotten more character development from Mario so that him caring for Jeffy didn't come out of nowhere, and that scene with Brooklyn Guy bragging about his car was not necessary, but overall, I still enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong, I respect your opinion, I'm just expressing mine.

Mario’s feelings for Jeffy didn’t come out of nowhere it came from all the years that he had to spend with him. Mario even had some feelings for Jeffy at the end of Jeffy’s Parents since he decided to adopt him before he knew about the money. And since then there has been many instances where Mario has shown his love for Jeffy even if he can got on Mario’s nerves. But who knows maybe Mario invented a time machine before Jeffy’s Parents and learned about the millions he could possibly get when Jeffy turned 18. But let’s just be happy that Black Yoshi is back in SML even though he looks like an Autistic Dinosaur. Now I’m just waiting for Mama Luigi to return as Mama Leonardo or something like that.

Honestly, not to disrespect but dab really put his expectations on the moon and was somehow surprised it inevitably didn't live up to it. Dab also somehow missed the humor as well, in that Jeffy surviving something clearly impossible is well, impossible. It's BS, and that's the joke. I'm not saying this video is spectacular (though the action sequences were probably Logan's best, period), but Dab didn't do himself favors. Logan, post-C&D at least, could never have made the SML movie the old fans want. That being said, he could have if he hunkered down and just got to work instead of pushing so much content out.
Unfortunately, how Jaque's death happened had been retconned from a simple gunshot to the head to jumping if the bridge, which makes zero sense.

I rarely watch SML content nowadays, but I’ve watched this video to see how the story ends with Nancy. The video itself wasn’t too bad, and is a 5.5/10 for me. But the video was like 38 minutes long,it was like the length of a special then an actual movie. Did expect the result to be better.

I’m going to be honest right now, the only reason why I thought this wasn’t the SML Movie is because it was so underwhelming and disappointing, that there was no way that this is it.
What I did think is that since we already knew that plot of the original movie, that the “actual movie” was going to have a different plot to surprise us. IDK.
This could have been a good send off for Jeffy, but it didn’t. Honestly I enjoyed Nancy and Screwball more than our actual heroes. I love Nancy’s sarcastic behavior and Screwball being an idiot. I’m surprised characters like Bully Bill, Penelope, or Jonathan weren’t in this video.
I feel like it’s more like Jeffy’s Parents more than the Secret Door. Both videos try to make us sympathize Jeffy, both were meant to give Jeffy a send off, but had to pull an excuse out of their asses to keep Jeffy, and both are incredibly underwhelming.
But, 6/10, cause the visuals were good and the characters weren’t overall annoying.
Also, Reggiestein’s designs are really good. I always wanted to redesign the SML characters myself, and I’m still going to do it. I even see the ideas that I had for redesigns in her designs. Pretty good to see artists like us succeed and do well.
I don’t know why Jeffy can’t move out he should still be making money from the Jeffy the Rapper Series.

I just see SML as the Family Guy of youtube. The humor is hit or miss, with really high highs but also really unfunny lows(mainly the Jeffy slapstick, although Jeffy does often deliver funny lines), but the writing is terrible. The SML movie was a disappointment to me not because I expected a good story, but because I expected good jokes, which were mostly forgone in favor of a "better" story. Logan and his team can be really funny, and they should have stuck to their strengths and prioritized making a light-hearted, silly movie instead of focusing on the drama between Jeffy and his mother.
I know I'll get some hate for this, but I cringe when plush channels try to go into particularly serious topics. It's not the right medium for delivering an honest message, and the cutesy characters generally tend to butcher the delivery.
It can work but you gotta be really good to pull it off and Logan isn't one of those people and similar to family guy they put unfunny jokes in rather tense situations.

I like how Cody says it's a bad idea to go to the white van that says candy on it and then says if they get kidnapped his not going to feel bad for them. But for some strange reason he goes along with it and even sings free candy along with his friends. If this isn't proof on how long doesn't go over his stuff and rushes things then I don't know what else. But overall this "sml movie" was under whelming 6/10 Dab basically summoned up my thoughts on the movie for me. The only good thing about this movie was 1.) The movie shoots and the action (seriously I can tell old Logan was back). And 2.) Screwball dancing really fast (if you know you know.). Also all I can say about this movie is...This sml movie feels more like a super *Marvin* logan movie more than a super *MARIO* Logan (if you know what I mean). This is one of the reason why I don't like the puppets there designs don't work for action and emotion like the plushies (seriously Logan pleasere-designed them or work out a deal with Nintendo if you can be a lot car's and own two houses and have a daughter! Then he can go to court). Overall that's all I have to say about this movie and I would like to hear all of y'alls thoughts.

Logan could have ended the video on a sad note with Jeffy dying and Mario & Rosalina depressed crying over his death much like how dark the ending with Joseph waiting for his mom was, If he really wanted he could have stated it wasn't canon and I'd be okay with it I knew when Simmons shot the chamber that Jeffy would survive somehow it's always a happy ending with SML Videos and it's painfully predictable

This is just depressing. Like God damn I didn't realize Logan had fallen so far. The only thing I've been keeping up with is the Glider YTP's.
This movie could have been the movie to end all movies but he just threw it all away with horrible twists and plot. 3/10 since the only thing I found to be good was the van explosion
Edit: about 8:36. Logan actually made a mistake video on chills Channel on all the mistakes on the video ( which is a-lot ) he pointed out that it wasn’t a sniper. Just saying this cause we can’t blame someone for doing something even though they admit it.
A much better ending would have been jeffy actually getting the money with no cheap cop out, but his mom steals it in the van then the chase cues in and the van explodes with all the money. wouldn't have even been that much difficult to do since it would be mostly the same
I have decided to permanently stop watching SML, because I can’t stand his 8-10 year old fanbase as well as Logan’s submissive attitude towards them. His most popular character was also the one which exposed his major flaws and weaknesses and the fact it will only continue to be used to adhere to a fanbase who is far too young to be watching content like this is beyond saving. The movie was ok, not the best but not the worst. However the fact that it wasn’t a send off of a character rather than going with one’s gut, just ruins years of the main reason behind the main plot line of the story. I don’t ever want to see that pencil nosed, helmet wearing, and diaper smacking puppet ever again. And it sucks too, I first watched SML as a teenager in 2015 and now I’m entering my 20s this year and there’s no reason to go on and watch a plush turned puppet show where the jokes are constantly overused, the plots are overused, and it shows a clear lack of effort. I have nothing against Logan and wish him the best in raising his daughter, but I just don’t view him the same after all the money and greed got to him once that character became a worshipped god by kid viewers.
sml is essentially the C student in the classroom. a classmate that doesn’t put enough effort into his work to be considered good, but just enough to get a passing grade, with the occasional failed or actually fully passed test here and there. it’s not that he can’t do it, his heart just isn’t in it. and this movie is full proof of that.

I know you won’t talk about this, but Logan brought Black Yoshi back and basically wiped out his entire history with Mario and just reintroduced him.
I hated that but I liked the idea of him being a black dinosaur it's very smart actually
@FluffyFreak yeah, but they basically redid Black Yoshi’s origin and made it so Jeffy was the reason he likes Call of Duty and all that. It’s so out of the ordinary, especially since Logan always references that fact that the other characters used to be plush as well, so there was really no point of reintroducing Black Yoshi and giving him a new original story. Logan also said that he’s going to do the same thing with Woody and Shrek in the next couple of weeks, so their whole backstories will be wiped as well.

I did have an idea of making an SML fan game on RPG maker based on the original plot for the SML movie about Nancy, Screwball, and the Loan Dolphin kidnapping Mario, so Jeffy and the other characters brought Mama Luigi back from the dead to find Mario.
The game would go through every setting throughout the series, like the apartment complex, the school, the jail, Mr, Goodman's Mansion, and maybe even Toy R Us or the alien spaceship.
The original house would be a "Luigi's Mansion" style level where you get to play as Luigi, Hell would be a level towards the end of the game where every canonically dead character would appear and join the team.
There'd be an open hubworld where you can walk from level to level, as well as 1 room buildings like the courtroom and movie theatre where you can find items and collectibles.
There'd be boss fights like the pig commander, Mr. Goodman, The Devil, and of course, the main antagonists. Chef Pee Pee might be an OK tutorial boss over something stupid like Green Beans or something.
It'd be like a Stick of Truth style game that references every episode of the series, but it'd have a FNAF world sized character roster. Jeffy, Junior, Joseph, Cody, Chef Pee Pee, Toad, Shrek, Woody, Tony, Rosalina, Peach, Bowser, Non-Mama Luigi, Mr. Pig, Mr. Goodman, Richard Goodman, Benjamin Goodman, Hansel the Homeless Guy, Rosalina's Parents, the birds, the Koopalings, Brooklyn Guy, Simmons, Jackie Chu, I think there was a Chiuaua who used to be important, Bully Bill, Craig, Craig Junior, Mama Luigi, Mario, and even Screwball, Nancy, and Loan Dolphin after the final boss. I'm thinking Penelope and Jonathon might need to playable just to get "every era" of the series covered, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it.
I think the final boss could be really hard and allow you to switch through every character you've unlocked through the game, with one phase being a chase scene after the ice cream truck, and the final phase could be as just Mario and Mama Luigi on the back of the ice cream truck.
I also thought about a wholesome ending where Jeffy turns 18, gets his money, and uses it to pay off Mario's house.
I don't have experience in RPG maker, though, so I mainly commented just to get the idea out there.
"The Supermariologan Movie" is just hot garbage, it's poorly written, overhyped, unfunny, and retconned parts of the story.
Besides that chase scene is probably it's only saving grace and maybe Screwball and Nancy being the only funny characters.

The best way to describe the video is underwhelming. After your as a build up I can’t believe this is the best I could do. There is good cinematography but that can only go so far. Jeffy's 18th birthday is pretty good .
I remember when Logan’s 2020 were depressingly bad, but this plunged to whole new levels of bad videos.
I still question why he didn’t do something like the SpongeBob movie or the end of Z or something where the show would continue after the movie but the movie will always be the intended ending. I at least thinks it would’ve been a better way to handle things
I think the only thing that hasn't made me quit sml yet is just when I'm bored at 2am

Pretty mediocre and a bit of filler but it’s carried by a pretty cool chase scene

Anyways, in every video even this video, Rose is just some lazy and annoying character who always defend Jeffy and makes Marvin do everything. I hate the phone call from her and Marvin how she thinks that Marvin was cheating on her. Also she said to Marvin that he does what Jeffy tells him to do. (the scene where Jeffy makes everyone dress like Jeffy) Then Rose start complaining about the shirt being too big. I know I may sound Im over Exaggerating, but I hated her since Jeffy’s bad word, she is my least favorite character of all time. I mean it is a bit true that she need to yell at BTG to stop making filler to a movie. But to Marvin. Okay I know Mario/Marvin has been a greedy person who does anything stupid for money. But think what Jeffy has done for the past 6 years, he made Mario’s life into hell. So if I was Marvin and I heard the news, I will also been pissed after all the torture.

I had high hopes for Jeffy’s 18th Birthday. What I witnessed was such an abysmal and was not what I wanted a big moment to be. It was an awful disaster. The only positive I can give the video were the camera angels and the van blowing up. That’s it. Nothing else. I have absolutely no regrets of leaving Logan and the SML Crew and I will never come back ever. I hope they’re happy for finishing that video. Everything in this video was garbage. Nothing changed. I don’t care what happens to Logan or his channel anymore.

People continue to take SML way too seriously.. older fans have to accept that things change and that the never videos aren’t worse than the old videos, just different. In the case of the “SML Movie”, there was way too much anticipation here, since this wasn’t the actual thing.

The Super Marvin Logan Movie is finally out after 7 years and... It's disappointing. Btw fun fact: Logan is going back to doing sml remakes. So you guys should probably suspect a Mario and Luigi stupid dumb adventure remake. Or probably a better title a Marvin and Larry stupid dumb mid- adventure when jeffy finally gets his own place in move in the future. (like that's going to happen but if he does his going to have to go back to doing good videos again).

I agree that this isn’t the worst SML video, but this is very mediocre. The real problem is we don’t learn any new development from Jeffy. What would be the purpose of him staying despite he’s 18? Would he be going to college to become an artist like his real father? Would he try new things like what adults would do? I don’t think so since we know how this will go. The truth is I agree, this really is my final SML video and the only one I have watched in the new channel.

Also he now is bringing back old characters but in puppet form like black yoshi and a leaked photo of a maybe woody in puppet form. Black yoshi’s voice is also different.

I thought it was ok. like Life of Brooklyn Guy, it was hyped up for years, and it didn't really deliver, but at this point it was kinda expected to not be amazing
While I do agree with some of your points especially the retcons I don't think old film's plot would have been good. The whole point was to see a lot of characters but most of them don't do anything and can easily be cut out of the video. Also the plot would have had to have a lot of filler to make it feel more then a normal video it literally goes Mario gets kidnapped cut to the house in chaos then bowser gets a machine from Dr Finkleshits to bring back mama luigi who then gets Mario back and thats it. And lastly I think there was too much anticipation for it I get it its been hyped for years but he had to restart the whole thing when Nintendo sent the letter. Considering it took him only a week and compared to other videos he made it is really good
What’s worse is that Logan actually thinks that the puppets are better than the plushies and he’s making puppet versions of shrek and woody

I saw the vlogs like a week ago on Chilly’s channel that Logan said in his own words that he doesn’t regret everything from getting demonetized and age restricted, moving channels, getting C&D from Nintendo, etc
So he prefers creepy and ugly looking puppets over his perfectly good plush collection? SML is basically becoming an adult version of The Muppets and Sesame Street.
