Compression socks can be beneficial for circulation and blood flow but they can have other benefits as well. Here are 7 Reasons You Need Compression Socks. Hint Lebron James Wears Them ruclips.net/video/7JGM_4lumXM/видео.html
As a retired physical rehab nurse this is wonderful!
Glad you like it!
I had such a hard time putting on my compression socks. I bought a Medi Butler like in the video. Now my compression socks slide on easily. I love my Medi Butler. Thank you so much for this video! ❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing! I am 65 and have good muscle strength and dexterity for my age but I have not worn my socks because of frustrating time getting them on.....even taking them off! You guys are the best physical therapists on the internet!
they have a tool for helping take them off too. I got mine on amazon, sure helps getting them off. even works getting my pants off
I've been using one of these for the past two years now as I live alone and have back trouble making bending extremely difficult. My lymphedema clinic recommended it to me. I had to bend it out a bit to fit my larger legs into it, and made some DIY pulling straps with some rope on the handles to help me in not have to bend. Works a treat. My socks are open-toe but I had no idea it can also be used for 'full-foot' socks. That's excellent to learn. Thanks Bob & Brad. You're always a mine of useful information. Which reminds me I must now do my rotator cuff tendonitis exercises.
I use donning gloves to smooth out the heels and give my toes wiggle room. I am astonished that you have likely not been told about the gloves they are a game changer. I have no problem putting my thigh high compression socks on. I manually fold the length of the leg so that the length of the sock is about five inches from the heel then, I wearing my gloves put my foot in once that is done to my satisfaction I just pull the socks on and then continue pulling them up to their full length . Years of practice 😅I can do it standing up doesn’t take long at all to get them on .amazing how the donning gloves help if I have a wrinkle in the ankle to adjust . I just keep working the fabric until the “installation “ is completed . I am in my seventies and have been doing it for years now a days I do stand a bit closer to a wall just in case I might lose balance but I’ve been lucky . I was taught to do it sitting on stool I like my way😊
Thanks for sharing.
What a marvelous device. However, you should lie down and raise your legs higher than your heart. You can use pillows, your dog, whatever would hold you legs up. Flex your feet= pull your toes up. Why? You want your veins to be flat before putting on your compression socks. Otherwise, your fluid filled veins are compressed in the sock which can make your ankles and feet swell. This also puts pressure on your vein valves which keeps your blood moving in the right directions. As an example, take off your watch. The veins underneath will be distended just from the slight pressure from your watch. I am a retired RN who worked for a vascular surgeon. With this device, putting on your compression socks from a lying position is easy. I wore support hose everyday as a nurse.
That is what my doctor said 30 years ago. Put them on while lying down. Difficult for me now with arthritis in my spine.
Thanks for sharing!
THANK YOU! My compression socks feel great when I wear them, but getting them on is such a chore I rarely do!
it hurts my hands, and they guys have really come through for us this time!
It is a little annoying, but the results are worth it!
I just viewed this and am so happy to see Bob. I know this is 11 months old but seeing Bob is better than any PT!
Thank you for your kind words.
Amazing device!
Will be sharing with my patients for sure
Sounds great!
🙌As always guys, right on time!💕💝🥳
😉
Thank you Brad and Bob
!! My Mom is 88 yrs old and needs to wear Compression Socks...To keep her Legs Circulating...
I have a device like this and it works great! I wouldn’t be able to put the compression socks on without it!
Good to hear!
Researching this for my mother-in-law, and as usual, you guys are my go to professionals! ❤
Thanks so very much guys!!!! God bless you both 🙏!!!!
No problem!
I wear latex gloves to put stockings on clients. This looks even easier!! Thanks 🎉
My mother taught me how to put nylons on when I was 12 years old (1958). Her technique works perfectly for this.
That's great!
I found a fairly easy way to put compression socks on without using anything but my hands.
Reach in the sock, with the heel facing you. Grab the heel from the inside. Pull the heel up through the sock. At this point, the foot upper part of the sock will be inside out. Slide your foot in the sock. take the top part of the sock (which is inside out), and slide it up your leg. Done.
That's how I learned to put them on! With medical grade compression socks, it is still a bit difficult and I can imagine someone with mobility issue to be glad with the device Bob showed us.
Yes, thanks for sharing!
At last I can put my compression socks on! I hadn’t been wearing them! Thank you for the video! ❤
This can be used by those who have osteoarthritis in their hands finger and thumbs. I have a hard time getting sock on, and I hurt my thumb each time. I had surgery done on my left thumb, but I still have issues with my right thumb. This would make putting on socks much easier.
Thanks for sharing!
You guys are The Best! Thank you for all of your wonderful and humorous advice!
Our pleasure!
also they tell us where to find it! Even not getting anything for telling us, it's so nice to just find it online!
The device is good especially if you have arthritis in the hands. If your feet are wide, it will be super hard to fit those toes through the tight ankle area of a compression sock.
Here' another method to try. Just turn the sock inside out. With your fingers push the toe of the sock back into the sock, at least a few inches, or up to the heel.
Be sure to line up the heal of the sock with YOUR heel.
Then insert your toes into the pocket you created by inverting the sock. You can then easily slide the sock over itself and up over the ankle.
There's a special way to put on compression socks...learned it when I was working with a homecare company.
Whatever works! 😊
please give us a hint about what that might be or how it might be
So what is it ?
Nice to see Bob. He is looking much better.
Thanks for that. I wear supports socks every day and it usually involves a bit of gymnastics to get them on. I will try this device to help. I hope it works on my size 13 feet.
Good luck!
I wear Dickies Men's Light Comfort Compression Over-the-calf Socks from Amazon. They pull on as easy as any other sock - comfortable all day long and really help,
Most true compression socks have 20 - 30 mmHg compression. The Dickie's have only 8 - 15 mmHg compression.
That’s because they provide little to know compression. You won’t put a medical level of compression sock on without a struggle
Wow. Good thing the Compression Sock Police are on patrol, keeping all true Compression Socks safe from those evil Dickies impostors!
That's great!
That's nice .😊
Absolutely Awesome ! Thank You 🙏
You're most welcome!
I bought it. Not quite as easy as they say but I was able to get my socks on for the first time. So I will have to practice. I had a hard time at the end getting the device off. Hopefully they can do this again slowly
@californiadreaming567 YOU can slow it down! Upper right corner is a wheel or sprocket icon; tap on it;
tap PLAYBACK SPEED; I tried it with .25 speed.
Now you can see them in slow motion.
(I muted the sound for that because speech iiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzz vvvvvvvveeeeeerrrrrrryyyyy slow too! )
Cool device! I need them for my once discovered DVT and now major ankle surgery. I may think about getting this when it gets harder to put on. Thank you !
No problem!
Bob is an inspiration
😃
Had one of those for years. There great.
Glad you enjoyed them!
I have problems with getting the sock onto the device but once it is on, it is so easy to get it onto me.
Thanks for sharing!
Any suggestions for getting them off. Especially after a good power walk or run??
Grab them by the top and slide them down over themselves (turning them inside out).
Jane, I slip 4 fingers into the back side of the compression sock and slide them down to my ankle then lever my palm away from my ankle and they come off. Struggled years until I did this. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for the great video and product recommendation. Just started having to wear these after heart surgery and struggled to put them on. It went just like in your video 😊🎉🎉🎉
If more people read the instructions that come with the box then in most cases they won’t need a fitting frame.
I’ve been wearing compression socks for many years here in the u.k. and have shown carers and hospital nurses how to put them on me because it’s not included in their training. If they don’t know then it can be very painful as they dig their knuckles in while trying to manoeuvre the sock up the leg.
Here’s how you do it:
Push one hand down inside and grasp the heel, then get hold of the top of the sock and pull it all the way down over the heel. You’ve now got an inside out foot area. While holding the heel area push the foot into the sock then simply pull the sock up your leg. Easy-peasy, if my instructions are clear enough.
Here’s a link I just came across:
ruclips.net/video/4corsAF0KeU/видео.html
This is the way ! Great video.
This is how I do it. No expensive contraption needed!
Thanks for sharing
That works as long as you can reach your foot! I think this device will allow me to get the stockings on with the additional length so I don’t have to twist my leg to the side with an arthritic hip joint.
Geez- how did I miss this one? (Must have been busy cussing at my socks😂) Thanks so much B&B and Team.
Perfect, they definitely are cursable! (I know, it's not a word but it should be 🙂)
Love you guys!!!! ❤❤❤❤
I would imagine Medi Butler could also work with the compression socks that have the toe hole.
Sure thing!
Best suggestion ever!
I take hydrochlorothiazide for swelling. I may need to try these socks. I have slight Claustrophobia
so those look uncomfortable. Maybe Betty's Butler will help. LOL Bob is doing great. So are you.❤
Thanks, try them out!
I switched to the side zipper and that's the best of all ways to faithfully wear compression socks.
LOL I have the exact opposite problem, I have no real problem getting them on but getting them off is way way too hard so I stopped wearing them
That's my concern. Nasty arthritis in both thumbs at the base. Some days gripping is difficult.
Grab the top and slide them down over themselves; basically turning them inside out. Easy.
Getting them down is easy for me, but not getting them off over the ankle.
@@Susann1984 Yes, that's the hardest part for me, too. I just grab it and pull it over my heel, and it comes off.
Do you have anyone that could help you get them off? They can be difficult both ways can't they!
Thank you. Thank You. THANK YOU !!!
Darn GOOD video. you're the only one that showed a link to purchase. Very helpful, thanks.
Excellent video, Bob and Brad. Thanks for helping people feel better without drugs or surgery.
May Christ do wonders in your lives, Amen.
Online on alot of medical and vein websites say not to ever fold compressions though cause they can have a tourniquet effect. And cause more harm than good.
And also it says should be about an inch BEFORE the bend of the knee? NOT on or over the knee?
Everyone has a different answer. What one is it? 😂
I have messed up my fingers with overuse from putting on and especially taking them off. I have to be careful when pulling them off not to hurt my worse knee.
Yes, it can be very tough. Be careful!
I use the dressing hook that comes with the Joint replacment kit. I put the hook in the top of my comptrssion sock and push it down th my ankle and then push the sick over my heel with the hok end and all the wY off. Since I have the bobe on bone bad hip I canot bend to get theing off the floor easily so I use a 22 inch grabber tool to pick them up from the floor. My clothing hok is on one end of my long shoehorn so I use it to put my shoes on and out the shoehorn in my shoe heel to take my shoes iff without bending over.
My problem is taking them off since my knee replacement surgery
Try using a reacher!
This may work for compression socks. I’m not sure.
ruclips.net/user/shortsoDqFK1XciJA?feature=share
If you live with anyone, have them pull them off. Much easier!
Yes, that can be difficult too!
Thank you, thank you...an awesome product!
Glad you like it!
I love you guys: Laurel & Hardy, Bonnie & Clyde, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby You decide which!
Thanks! 😃
I just now watched this video for the first time I find it very beneficial.
I do not have that medi Butler so I needed no how to put the socks on today.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! THIS WAS A PERFECT SOLUTION FOR ME!!!!😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
TY,very helpful.
Follow up video on how to then get them off please?
That gadget don't work for those of us that have large calves. To get my compression stockings on i use a pair of the rubber gloves that are used to wash dishes/do dirty jobs around the house. Once you get the hang of using them , it's a piece of cake to get the stockings on.
Whatever works best for you! 😊
Hey thanks guys but.....I understand that you are not to fold the top of the stocking over under any circumstances.
That:s great!
It is!
Someone put on the link where to buy it? Please
I do have trouble getting my compression socks on, but even worse time getting them off! I thought I was going to have to call someone to come and help me or just cutting them off. I did eventually get them off, but wrecked my wrists doing it. Any suggestions on how to get them off over my heels? I will be purchasing one of those gadgets.
I use Tubi-grip type sleeve/ socks. I cut to fit.
I remove them by cutting them off.
Comes in a 10 yard roll. Under 20 bucks.
My hands / wrists hurt way too much to deal with it.
@@halverde6373 I have these also. I pack them for travel, and don't have to worry about washing them!
@@halverde6373 where do you find them, please?
@@margaretkloppenburg2578 I found them on e-bay. I'm sure amazon has them too.
@@margaretkloppenburg2578 Look under compression sleeves or socks.
fantastic product
What did you say that thing was that helps with compression socks to go on easy
Medi Butler. You can find more information about each video by looking under the video for the words "Show more" and click on it.
The comment below explained perfectly 😊
Thanks! I needed this!
Glad we could help!
Fantastic! Can the device be reversed to take the socks off? LOL.
How about taking off 35-40 mmHg compression stockings? For a 90 year old...decent mobility
Sometimes a shoe horn works!
There’s no way I’ll be able to put these on when I’m 70, or 80, I’m already week in my arms! This thing might just help!!
I can’t get to the web to buy it! What is the name of this cool device?
Thank you so much ❤
I have some very similar to one of these, but there are three problems:
1- I find it almost impossible to get the compress sock completely over the frame
2 - my feet a just a little too large for the frame
3 - when I HAVE managed to get the sock on, getting it off again is a nightmare and I ended up once having to cut the sock off
The socks have been properly measured and prescribed (free under the UK National Health Service) so it's very frustrating.
The rack comes in 2 sizes from what I've seen but no where does it say how to tell which size you need.
Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
I have chubby legs, and the compression socks seem to feel tight underneath the knee, and behind it, is this normal? Yes, I'm wearing the right size. 😅
Thank you.
Yes, the compression socks should feel snug!

😃
And what happens if you don’t have that sock
So sad you hadn’t run into an OT earlier. They could have shown those trick and device for your convinience🙃
I have the medi butler & it works great for my right foot which I can straighten out but I can't straighten out my left foot so I haven't tried it with that foot so I don't know if it will work on it.
Yeah! I know what you mean, thanks..😊
Of course!
Do you have a similar trick to get them off as getting them over the heel can be tricky?
The device is ok if you have flexible joints, but its a pain if your less mobile.
Neat..but try going through the airport with that
I actually refrain from recommending the Medi Butler to my patients, too many accidental injuries. Alot of geriatric patients have RA or Cervical disc disease resulting in weak grip or poor sensation. I prefer the slippie gator from Juzo or the Doff n Donner from Sigvaris.
Tried it with an open-toe compression sock. Does not work.
Have you tried sticking your hand inside the sock, pulling the inside of the heel out so it's inside out and then putting on your foot ? It's hard to explain in words, but this way works wonders
I can get the stiffer compression socks on with only moderate difficulty. The problem is getting them off. I have to have my wife pull them off while I am sitting in a heavy chair that won't drag across the floor while she tugs.
Put lotion on foot and leg. The massage feels good. Sock goes on easier
Thanks for sharing!
I bought one of these. I bought the large one and it's not big enough where my calf goes.
Try turning the sock inside out, then shove the toe area of the sock back INTO the sock up to the heel. Then you need to insert your toes into the pocket. Its' easy to pull the sock over itself and up over the tight ankle portion of compression socks. Not too hard to get the sock all the way up after that. Just be sure you have the heel of the sock and your heel lined up before you insert your toes.
Fabulous!
Right you are! 😂
Does this work with toeless compression socks?
Thanks!
Thank you!
Who else is looking for a couple of wire hangers? 😂
How do you get them off easily?
Is this good for long spotting jobs?
Yes
@@BobandBrad sorry I meant long sitting desk jobs?
What happened to Mr. Bob?
