You guys really helped me turn the corner, mentally, after abdominal surgery. Nobody warned me about leg swelling, or told me how common it is after surgery. So when I woke up with hugely swollen legs a couple days out,, I was in fear and despair.
After watching a couple of your clips and taking the advice, I slept well last night for the 1st time in a week.
Just lying here doing the simple exercises with you, I begin to feel as if I am truly on the mend. Thanks for that. It's not just info or advice. You gave me hope.

Hang in my friend. Take it from us...stay actively on the exercises. Plenty of us out here in "lymphie land" also deal with the same issues. Hubby had a knee replacement and is diabetic. Try and keep positive - and if you can manage to laugh at some point - hey, so much the better!! Regards from NYC.

The massage part made so much sense to me for a reason I already employ: I have waist length hair. In order to brush my scalp and roots, I have to start at the tips. If I STARTED brushing at the roots without clearing the exit point (the tips), I would create a massive tangle after one stroke of the brush. Bob and Brad are saying that we have to massage the exit points first (the pelvis) so that when we bring up toxins from the lower extremities, there is an already cleared path for the toxins to leave.

I was diagnosed with idiopathic cyclical edema (which means "we don't know";). It wasn't too bad in the summer, but it haunted me most of the winter. Lasix meds helped, which rules out veinous insufficiency and congestive heart failure. So we continued hunting around. Had an image of my liver done. As an aside the radiologist referenced an unusual amount of water in my belly. I knew he was going to find it. I intentionally ate half of a pizza 48 hours before the image. I rarely ate pizza because I would feel lousy the next day and some or a lot of swelling would start. Who or what was the rat in the woodpile? My Nutritionist. At 60, I decided to find out about nutrition for my Golden years. He put me on the American Low-fat Diet. Within 2 years the edema started, and would last for 6 years.... until I went back to my Atkins-like low carb diet. I had been on it for about 20 years prior, and with an occasional slip or two my weight had been good. I had gotten fat on the Low-fat diet (which I'm certain didn't help any), but a somewhat carbless diet got me back into shape. But first and foremost, the swelling STOPPED within a few weeks of firing my Nutritionist.;) Folks, these B&B exercises are great. But you have to at least try a Low-Carb diet. I'm not a zealot for Low-carbmania, but there is no doubt about its curative effect on me. I have been swelling-free for 11 months and don't anticipate it ever again. Try low-carb for a few months. Just try it and decide for yourself.

It's a miserable condition and of course there's no cure. I went to see a physical therapist but was told there was nothing they could do for me. I finally found a massage specialist but it still is a pain 7 years later. I only knew 5 of the 10 exercises and I'm glad to know there are more I can try. I know this is an older video yet I'm seeing it for the first time today. I've been doing a variation of this for my slight swelling of my ankles. Yet this past week I've started working part-time for an older man who has physical therapy at home due to injury from a very serious car accident. I want to help encourage him to do what will be beneficial on days when his physical therapist is not there. It's not "part of my job" as I've been hired to fix breakfast & lunch, assist a bit getting him ready for showers since he has to go up three steps before getting to his chair lift, & then light housework. He's been happy about my input on some nutritional things that I've only learned about due to my own health history & he assures me he'll talk to his doctor, pharmacist, & daughter about making some changes. I love you guys!! You help so many people with the information you share!!! ☮️💞🙏 with extra prayers for Bob's health & Brad's too. 🙏🙏🙏

I've also developed lymphorrhea, aka 'Leaky Leg' on both legs now. Here's the stupid reason why I went undiagnosed for so long. During the 2 plus years of medical school most doctors spend less than 30 minutes learning about the lymphatic system.

I've noticed over the past few years that my socks are making indentations around my lower calf, my ankle bones are not as visible, my ankles and feet seem a bit thicker. I could not find socks with a loose enough cuff to prevent the indentations. I notice if I wear socks all day that there is a very mild pain in the lower leg. I resort to going barefoot in Winter so the swelling can recede even though I hate cold feet and chilly drafts. Your exercises seem to be a reasonable solution and I look forward to the probable results.
I notice also that my feet and lower legs are prone to sudden and extremely painful cramps. My toes will literally curl. Sometimes the cramps wake me up from a sound sleep and I have to get up on my feet as swiftly as possible to ward off the pain. Its a rude awakening. Hot water sometimes helps, but mostly the only relief is to walk until the cramp lets go. If I'm out in public, I have to take off my shoes so my feet have more liberty to flex. Maybe the cramps and swelling are related?

Thank you for this video. I’m 4 months post op from TKR and my leg has been swollen and red ever since. My surgeon told me it’s normal and could last a year or more. I just discovered I have a lipoma on my thigh the size of a 1/2 cantaloupe and it’s on a nerve that goes down to my knee and am headed for an ultrasound today then to see a surgeon. My mental and physical state are not ready for another surgery. I can’t wait to get back home and try these exercises. I pray I don’t have to go through another surgery. I’m petrified. My TKR leg is 3” bigger than my non surgical knee. Again thanks and am watching all your videos. I appreciate y’all very much. I’m 74 btw. Bless y’all.
PS: Ultrasound on my thigh shows not a lipoma so this coming Tuesday I go for an MRI and my doctor put me on Gabapentin which I said I’d never take again. Well I’m taking it and praying I don’t put on the weight like I did after my back surgery. At this point I really don’t care. Just stop that nerve pain and I’m praying it will keep me from having another surgery.

In 2016 was diagnosed with cancer of the womb and therefore had to have a hysterectomy. Lymph nodes were also removed and the consultant advised that the side effect would be thick ankles. I wore lymphedema stockings for 3 years but also suffered with urticaria (hives, nettle rash) really bad. Discovered from a skin specialist in my own surgery that the urticaria was caused by pressure on my body. Thus the stockings causing the pressure. Stopped wearing them but each night I put my legs up high which really helps the swelling to decrease. Thank you for the message info . I will start that as well. Look forward to future videos.

I'm 62 and got diagnosed 4 years ago with lymphedema. I had had swelling and lumps and discoloration in my lower legs for many years the discoloration started around my ankles but over time had worked its way up almost all the way to my knees it wasn't until my skin actually started to crack and I got open wounds when I was diagnosed with the lymphedema. At first the discoloration and slight swelling had been diagnosed as contact dermatitis by time the lymphedema was diagnosed I was stage 4. It could have been very different have I been diagnosed correctly at a younger age I suffered now a lot. However the massage does help and if you don't have anyone to help you with the massage one person suggested to me using what they called a weenie roller paint roller with an extended handle to get the toes into the rest of the body it works great. just a suggestion

I have lymphedema in both legs. I went through a physical therapy program and lost 90cm combined for both legs. Before I do my massages, I was instructed to open my lymph nodes by massaging them. I have to wear my stockings every day, the only time I take them off is to go to bed and shower. The program I went through changed the quality of my life so much. Prior to the program I was always falling, not realizing it was my enormous left calf that was making me fall. My left calf is still bigger than the right, but I am happy with my results.

Wow. Thank you so much! This is so helpful. My ankles have swollen to the size of softballs a few times since I had Covid-19 in Dec. 2021. My toes were purple tonight when I took off my socks & shoes & I had some bruising around my ankles & feet. Ive been so worried about cardiovascular problems! Your video made me realize that I wore super tight pants each time my ankles swelled! Working hard on my feet in tight pants all day must have blocked "the dam" at my belly button & caused swelling in my ankles from fluid build up. Im doing your exercises in my bed now. Putting feet on the wall is perfect in lieu of a wedge. I never would have thought to massage the groin & belly area to draw fluid away from the feet, but it seems to be helping already. Thank you so much! I took pictures & videos to show my doctor & took an asprin, just in case. Thanks so much! Oh, yes, and I am very good at diaphragmatic breathing. Thanks guys! Youre lifesavers! 💖🙏🏼😇😇 P.S. I recently increased my salt intake to help with electrolyte imbalance issues but must have been by too much. Will reduce salt & try to find a healthy medium.

I found 1/2 teaspoon salt = 1,150 mg. sodium. I put this in a shot glass and put it in whatever I’m eating or drinking. Starting with 1/8 Tsp per food item. This had made my life so much better, thank you! I started having episodes of lymphedema after 1.5 years of a Gastric sleeve surgery (and half of me in weight gone). It was making me miserable because I use mostly power walking as exercise and for my mental health. A swollen leg would make this both painful and awkward (the foot becomes so big I cannot put shoes on for 1-2 days and can hardly bend it. It takes about 5 days for the swelling to go down. It takes 24 hours if I do these regularly and during the episodes (together with a little bit of massage).

M A yeah, I was doubtful too. But then I got bad leg swelling because the knee braces I was wearing were a bit too tight for me legs. I thought they’d be fine, because I felt a ton of support and my leg pain went away but when I took them off my legs looked like they didn’t even belong to me. I was terrified that I might’ve gotten diabetes. So I went online to try and find was to get rid of the swelling and nobodies remedies were working for me, then I found this channel. Didn’t think it was even worth trying, but my bf just told me I should at least give it a try, don’t really have anything to loose by just trying.
But I was shocked and so happy afterwards, my legs went back to normal.
So since then whenever I have something I need info about I hop onto their channel and browse their videos.
I actually just got something they did a video about. It’s called Theraworx Relief. It’s for muscle pain, cramps, spasms etc, it works so freakin good. I thought Lidocaine was great, but Theraworx is on it’s own level. Don’t really like the smell but it gets the job done in minutes.
Sorry for such a long reply lol
But I definitely suggest you check out more of their videos, their techniques have helped me a lot.
      Cheers 🍻 😊

Gentlemen you are the perfect 'partner' to my home care of hubby's lymphedema. The NY VA gave us a Flexi Touch compression device. They sent a therapist techie to tutor us in the proper use. Now 4x a week, I set Ric up in his 'space suit' and he rests and reads, with his leg propped up. A half hour each limb. . He is still mobile, no cane or wheelchair. Though recently he has developed minor foot swelling. No impression of my finger if I gently poke him there. And no pain or discoloring. But still, cause for concern. These exercises, along with some gentle massage seem to be a great accompaniment to the program. He's going Wednesday for a followup. Meantime, I am keeping husband on track with this, and it does indeed seem to be helping!

There is no blood clot, no soft tissue mass. However a CT scan showed fluid under the skin on one area of my outer thigh. Doc said it was most likely brought about from the trauma of the fall. No PT was ever recommended. I will definitely be trying these exercises.

Basic, but very effective. Thanks Bob, Brad for this very information. I've been having to go to the restroom quiet often; now I know why. I will be doing these exercises.

In discussion with my friend she said that she will never make payment to any medication when I ask why? She said four consecutive times she ordered and she didn't see any, I feel for her anyway because is not easy to be disappointed but, I told her my product is arriving US tomorrow according to DR RORPOPOR HERBAL on RUclips and it was so, not only that I got healed just within 17days of usage. And my friend who said over her dead body will she order for any medication is now asking me to give her the doctor number. May you live long to heal more souls....

Question: why do we go to our primary care physician for years & they don’t tell us anything about these excercises, they quickly prescribe a diuretic. After I got diagnosed with Stage 3 CKD, I had to find out for myself to get off diuretic & Advil. After helping myself my kidneys improved to Stage 1.

You're now on the right track. A healthy Keto and intermittent fasting diet will greatly heal all around. Cut out the sugars and carbs and processed foods and add much more dark leafy greens and vegetables, and only wild- caught salmon, cut the caffeine and increase pure water. You'll definitely see results and feel so much better. Very quickly. Good luck. I know of many that have had great results when they stick to it. Blessings to you.

@Dee mii, if you have diabetes or neuropathy, I recommend you see your podiatrist about the foot, same happened with me and I ended up with Charcot Foot, a permanent debilitating foot problem. Hope it's nothing ☺️

If you are taking amlodipine as a BP medication, that will cause leg edema. My husband suffered with a problem in his right leg also then he saw a cardiologist who told him the amlodipine was the cause. His leg went back to normal as soon as he stopped taking it.

Wow, thank you. I have suffered with edema my entire adult life. My legs look like fat baby legs, with creases around the knees and cankles, and some days you can’t see the tendons moving in my feet. It’s not fat, it’s fluid buildup. Salt avoidance helps but the problem is made worse by the fact I have naturally low blood pressure (90/50 to 110/70) and have always had fainting spells when I try to be active because my lower leg veins don’t react to positional changes (now on meds to raise my blood pressure to see if that helps). I’m hoping the lower leg exercises may strengthen the muscles and help with the fainting as well.

Try sleeping with feet raised and then support stockings. Don't get up from bed, etc. too quickly. I was told my heart was OK but l think l'm going for 2nd opinion. Good luck!

@@janicejacome already do ALL that, plus other things not mentioned. I’ve been put through so many tests, scans, worn monitors, stress tests, tilt table tests, MRI’s, EKG’s, Ultrasounds...one doctor said it’s amazing I don’t glow in the dark (jokingly of course).

Funny how proper diaphragmatic breathing applies to a 3rd aspect of my life. I already need it for singing, also for anxiety relief, and now for edema (not mine, but a family member). I can't wait to see if this helps for my loved one!
