Farmer Tyler Ranch always gets me excited to see how healthy is cows are very healthy thank you for that and we appreciate you sharing God bless you and your family
That is the exact same tractor my family had in Michigan when I was a kid. Except ours didn’t have the ‘red bars’ on the front of it. Ford! Haven’t seen one like this in years! Thanks for bringing back the memories. 🥰
Great video. Your fence looks really nice in the background near end. Calli looked to be having a good time but she never let you get to far away. Thanks for your always positive upbeat spirit. Have a great evening.
Pastures look Great! Mowing was definitely beneficial. This was your first time housing the round bales, then to loose a significant quantity of your crop to issues beyond your control well then having to buy square bales. You can't cover all the "what if's". You did good. Also I've told you about my rattle snake problems and how the barn cats put a significant dent in that issue. Protect your cats...they are definitely a valued ranch hands. Good post.
Great you are getting everything back together. I pray you continue with the contents that you got started with the family and animals growing up on your farm and all the good work you have doned
Impressed with the 8 n. I guess the wheel weights make the difference. My experience with older Ford tractors too light for loader work. Had 601 and 801 with loaders and tires were loaded and still light in the rear.
Tyler, I love the videos. I always learn something and you are such a positive person. I love starting my day watching you start yours, or watching you finish up your day as you take us all along, thank you. The field looked beautiful so green and it looked thick and soft, fluffy kind of. Have a great rest of your week.

Thx as always! Glad to see the bale spear work! I will have to do a follow up for my students and show it being tested under loads, since we watched you build it! Take care !
Beautiful video Farmer Tyler ! You stocked the round bales really nice and the tractor performed well. Your pasture grew well since you cut down those weeds. Lastly, you have a beautiful herd of well-kept cattle...so very content, too ! :)
With all you DIY skills, I can see you fashioning a welded carrier for all the gear as well as a sun shade over the top. Maybe even something that combines the two?
If you feed the cats, the mice are no longer food, so they become a game, a pastime. I have had barn cats for decades, rodents, snakes, and scorpions don't last long around here.
I’ve been a licensed pesticide applicator (for turf) most of the time since 1981. I agree there are good reasons to not spray your entire pasture but 2,4-D does not kill clover. Your mix would have to include Dicamba, or any of a couple other newer chemicals to take out the clover. 2,4-D as a standalone chemical is quite cheap. If you spray any herbicides be sure to add a spreader-sticker to make the most of your application. I really enjoy your channel.
Tyler , here in south central texas . I like to shred for all the same reasons and our cattle do eat better then half the clippings. I cut few days before i rotate them off .we hardly ever get grass to tall to cause eye abrasions keep up the good work
Those are happy cows in that pasture. As a non-farmer/non-rancher, I have always been amazed that cattle can put on so much weight eating grasses. I guess that's why I watch your videos, so I can learn something about how the meat I love so much gets to my table.
I must say that I am mighty proud of the 8N, after all us “Old” gals have to stand together😍. You did a marvelous job refurbishing and retrofitting for the round bales. You certainly put her to the test with the hay moving job. Had to chuckle at the cows eating the two bales in the corner…..it is not like the cows didn’t have anything to eat..or no wonder your cows look all slick and happy. I think that knocking those weeds down simply for pink eye control is well worth the effort, besides it does make the pasture look almost pristine. Hope that you are proud of the all the work you have accomplished this year with some pretty adverse occurrences. I was also, again, admiring your new pipe fence in the background of the video. Great job Tyler.
Don't worry too much about the round hay bales. A wee bit of rain on them won't hurt. My whole season of hay is outside in Maine. If you put the bales on the flat, you can stack them 2 high and 2 wide in the barn. Always great videos Tyler. Keep up the good work.

I am impressed with the old Ford how well it preformed! I was surprised at how the rodents damage was in the stacks! Callie keeps growing, what a cutie! The cut pasture look great!

One of my favorite sounds on the farm…happy cows chewing their cud! Clover is a favorite of our cows to! Great job on moving your round bales. As you move your square bales in, you might be able to stack another round on top of your round bales and against your square bails! Just a thought…helps protect all of your hay, especially with the drought conditions the western states have experienced, and limited hay supply this coming year for you folks!

Your tractor is looking good, nice you've finally had a chance to use her. Hay outside weathers fine if you put them in a row end to end. Stay out all winter if the net is good, you might loose an inch on the outside. We use to do that with ours in Cornwall UK. Stacking bales vertically in the barn is better, you get more bales in and allows the cats to go between them. Just making sure the stack is stable.

You can buy newly refurbished antique tractors like these for less than the down payment on one of those new shiny painted modern tractors. And they have lots of life left.
In my area you can by a used tube tire fork lift for about the price of two ford spindles and if you are going stack bale's you are going to need spindles and front axle knees. I always had pikeye trouble when I cheaped out on mineral.
Age isn't as much of an issue as the weight. It's probably good that you have all those wheel weights on there. Also, the low horsepower of those old engines makes them pretty heat resistant. One thing to look for is keep that front end and steering lubed, tight, and inspected for wear. It's not designed for heavy duty loader work. I had a relative buy one with a loader on it and the front end and steering were all extremely worn. Even the steering gearbox needed a rebuild badly.
Hi Tyler, great video. Really liked seeing the cattle in the fresh field of grass and Cali playing around.
