I think it's more like 'He nuked New York AND New Jersey'. Technically one is far less fatality causing but you'd still remember it in broad terms. 'He nuked 3 cities' and all that. After all, Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't even the most lethal raids in WW2 but we definitely remember them more.
@@Summersong2262 To be honest nuking New Jersey relieves it's inhabitants from horrible corruption and pain of living in New Jersey. Judging by Hiroshima and Nagasaki it's sorta accurate. Two bombs, 50k people die instantly, and possible 100k more later of radiation effects. Not sure if Im alone on this one but, I always thought the nukes could use a bit of a buff. They felt weak to me. A nuclear explosion should be enough to kill ships bigger than the lightning.
Honestly, while tactical nukes are smaller-scale than the two that we currently have used IRL, I think they should go for crew kills rather than big boom. The Crossroads experiments (when they nuked a fleet) showed that there was little structural damage to the ships, but they were absolutely *coated* in radiation. With the more refined modern tactical nukes, I'd expect the radiation to kill whatever the blast didn't hit.
@@warmech11 modern nukes have much less radiation than older nukes. more radiation = a less efficient bomb, since less fissile material is converted to explosive force.
