You should detail the fixing of the noggins as access to one end of each one is limited once the first one is fixed? Presumably you skew the screws but it needs to be made clear. (constructive comment, well intended).
Very helpful video. Some things were obvious, but the some things were really helpful like the skirting board tips, hadn't thought about that at all. thanks so much.
correct me if im wrong but the way he has don it the door is going to fit into the lining without anygap around the door.?? so why didn't he make the opening of the door 421 eah side to allow a 2mm gap each side and 1981 plus 10mm for the flooring and 2mm for the gap???
when he marked out the inside edge of the door lining for the door he didnt leave a 2mm gap for each side of the door, and 12mm for the height, witch would be 10mm for the carpet / flooring and 2mm for the gap am i right or wrong?
I didn't even notice how frequently the word "obviously" was being said till I scrolled down after 15 mins, now I can't ignore it, obviously. Curse you all.
brilliant video and very helpful I'm doing my level 2 carpentry and joinery at college. just one suggestion if you can put things in lamens terms I didn't understand certain things that was said. many thanks for the video
obviously...a very presumptuous and overused word. Apart from that, Good work. Thanks Cut one noggin at the start and use that as a measuring stick for all the studs
Why do you use an impact driver as opposed to a standard driver? Isn't this going to lead to problems in the future, White finger or Carpal tunnel syndrome?
Why does he obviously keep saying obviously all the time, it's obviously very annoying and obviously most of the things he is talking about is not obvious, obviously!

This video was a great help when I was building a studded wall last week. Obviously!
This is one of the best tutorials of the job in question.
Snip saw? never ever ever heard one called that before. good vid.
Looks like a chop saw to me .....
they call em drop saws where im from
Very helpful video. Some things were obvious, but the some things were really helpful like the skirting board tips, hadn't thought about that at all. thanks so much.
Excellent video with plenty of detail. Well Done!
what's the best thing to fill in screw holes in worktop ? My mrs is livid !!
Granite or laminate?
That drill is amazing!
26:45 If you screw in either side of the noggin how do you screw the next noggin in ?? put the screws in at an angle ?
Love watching pros from different countries do this stuff. In the end all that matters is that you have a strong wall. The rest is nuance
Excellent tutorial!
when you put the base plate down , how do the screws go into the the solid floor?
Thanks Tommy I learned a lot.

Watched this. Good to know. Safety glasses are important. Thank you for pointing that out for your viewers.
Great video, and as said before, not American. Really shows you how it should be done. Thanks
Obviously ...Stud work . Obviously. ( he loves that word- lol Thanks mate well explained - going to start on it at the weekend :)
Good video today! very helpful today. If im doing my project tomorrow, is this no good today?
Is there part II of this video? Like putting plasterboards in and mesh it up and then paint..
I was cutting on the line or maybe even slightly on the left side.. Now i will do it on the 'right' side. Cheers)))
every helpful , great. looking forward more SECRETS.
Really good and usefull for me. Many thanks!
New drinking game: Every time he says "obviously" take a shot.
He's a legend!

0:29 "Hi, I'm Andy from Trade Supermarket..."
Er, No you're not Andy, you're from Trade Secrets! D'oh!
Amazing video. Why people feel the need the take the piss I don't know. They produced this video at some cost to there business.
"obviously..."
how do the wood screws go into a solid floor?
Thanks, really informative.
Very thorough. Thanks for the vid.
excellent !! most straightforwad
Where did the second noggin get screwed in from?
I didn't even notice how frequently the word "obviously" was being said till I scrolled down after 15 mins, now I can't ignore it, obviously.
Curse you all.
Absolutely fantastic
brilliant video and very helpful I'm doing my level 2 carpentry and joinery at college. just one suggestion if you can put things in lamens terms I didn't understand certain things that was said. many thanks for the video
Lay-men's.
He means 400mm to 600mm from center of one stud to the center of the other. 400cm would be 4m.
Thanks Andy
Excellent video! Shame it wasn't de-interlaced though, got a bit of a headache now lol but still thank you for uploading for us.
Why has he not allowed any gap between the door and the lining as well as the stud and the lining as there is no guarentee the stud will be straight
any chance of a video for dado rail. thanks
WE NEED TO BUILD A WALL
Very good , but how do you screw noggins in a line from either side ? Capiche ?
Where's the other video about the door lining
fantastic work. learnt a lot
Good vid, cheers (although its 400 and 600 milis not centers isnt it?)
Nice video man .. thanks..
What tool bag is that?
obviously...a very presumptuous and overused word. Apart from that, Good work. Thanks
Cut one noggin at the start and use that as a measuring stick for all the studs
Why do you use an impact driver as opposed to a standard driver? Isn't this going to lead to problems in the future, White finger or Carpal tunnel syndrome?
good vid thanks pal!
Shouldn't he have started the 400 on center from the outside edge of the first door upright instead of the center.
excellent
a noggin is the small horizontal piece of wood in the middle.
Yes, but I would do it from the top, not on the face of the wall. Because you don't want a protruding screw head fouling the plasterboard.
useful info... obviously :)
What size screw bit are you using on your impact driver and what length are your screws?
+Tiger Eye 100mm screws, says at the beginning
theraycastle
Screw bit.
I only answered the length of the screws part of your question ;-)
theraycastle
I'm not talking about the screw size. I'm talking about the size of screw bit.
It's all a bit technical for you. Don;t worry.
+Tiger Eye pz2, and yes you did also ask bout the screw size.
You only use screws ,not nails?
Check out the new Square 'n Tape from Fastcap
top video top work top geezer
great vid....well explained!!
I always thought the noggins were installed in a staggered fashion?
in a straight line noggins will have more strength as the weight wont be transfered as much
well i did mine staggered, i even swung from it, nothing will bring it down, plenty of strength
Must be confusing having to mix metric and imperial measurements.
........Thats why I watched this video....but they skipped the difficult bits.....
Good video... Obviously. ;)
nice job....obviously
I'd be on the floor after 10 minutes.
I have never seen anyone use a noggin in the United States. The plaster board it's self secures all the upright studs quite well.
pommy and aussie chippys ftwwwwwww
can we do some work together?
thanks Tommy
he should sell geico ins
thats a combi square, not a set
obviously everything isn't obvious, otherwise you obviously wouldn't be making this vid!
''obviously''
What'z a noogggin'?
He likes saying , obvious.😉
100mm
Obviously
If it took me this long to build a small stud wall I would get fired LOL!
You say use a four bi two.... is that 4" x 2""... then you mention metric lengths when your cutting. Confused,,!,
10 min into this i found a glass eyeball asleep next to me, would have been more exciting watching a skip rust
This guy says obviously so much haha
Not to be chauvinistic, but the American method is faster and stronger...
No need for the video, apparently its all obvious.
The only thing Jimmy Carter tried to do right. We should have went to the metric system USA.
@michael51332 I just sicked up in my mouth a bit! I cannot stand Dado rails! Were you being serious? dont you just plaster them/screw them on????
4 by 2???? I think you mean 2 X 4 mate!
bloody hell we dont do metric lol
Why does he obviously keep saying obviously all the time, it's obviously very annoying and obviously most of the things he is talking about is not obvious, obviously!
Snip Saw?! How Gay lol
Too mach bla bla bla..........
very informative, Thankyou!
