"Haste, for the twilight is falling, Flee, for the night is appalling." Our hymnals need more lyrics like this. The church has forgotten that our struggle is a matter of eternal survival.

Wow! So beautiful and soothing in this evil time. God is on the throne. Praise God for music and musicians to share it with such excellence. Thank you!
@@acappellahymns I was just over at hymnary.org learning more about Mrs. Dana and seeing what she looked like. She wrote quite a number of hymns. This is so beautiful, and you do such a wonderful job of singing it in 4-part harmony. She also became Mrs. Shindler after her first husband died.
Thank you for doing this one. We now have a definitive version to show people how this one goes! Your work on these is very much appreciated. Maybe when I am visiting a congregation and ask if they know it, I will not get blank stares. Thanks.
@@acappellahymns No, I don't think it was your recording. It was sung by a choir with music, but your recording is the closest. I love your harmonies and it just sounds heavenly! I'll be playing this a lot!!!
This channel is such a blessing to me and my family! I see that you have options to buy on amazon, Google and iTunes. I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing all that, and I'm sure it's not hard. I personally would like a CD if you have some for sale?
Glad y'all are enjoying the channel so much! I don't have any professional CDs available but I have burned them at home for people before for $5 each (20 songs per CD) plus whatever media mail shipping costs which is usually just a few bucks. Feel free to email me if that's something you'd like to do some time. My email address can be found on the 'About' tab of the main channel page.
Halloween episode of A Cappella Hymns. I'm joking, it's just because it's in E minor. Heard this one for the first time at Lads to Leaders a few years ago, not too many people knew it in the crowd (including me) so this was nice to hear what it actually sounded like.
Yeah, I'll eventually get some more on here. There's just not that many, that make it in to hymnals anyway. I think I've got 6 minor ones on here so far. And with their own playlist too! ( :
Thank you. I didn’t know it had 4 verses. My copy has only two. Another minor tune from the south is Sing to the Lord (Cantad al Senhor) I’d like to hear it sung properly.
Yeah, I didn't either. My hymnals only have 2 verses as well so I looked through some old scans of hymnals on hymnary.org and found the other verses. I'm glad I did too because it seems to complete the song better than just the two.
I use a handful of different hymnals. The main one is called "Praise for the Lord" and can be found on Taylor Publication's website, Amazon, eBay, and others. The next most common hymnal I use is called "Songs for Worship and Praise". You can also use Hymnary.org for many of these same arrangements.
It's probably much more boring than one could imagine. Haha... I keep a list of requests that folks send in. And more or less, I use those. I don't record those in order all the time though. I wouldn't want to have too many slow ones in a row or too many contemporary ones, etc. And sometimes I'll throw one in that's been on my mind or that a friend or family member suggests. Hope that helps! ( :
