My Publix recently updated their system and now the BOGO items ring up one at full price, one at $0.00. It used to list both items at full price and then deduct the BOGO price underneath. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this? I'm wondering how this is going to affect coupon thresholds. Also, I am in FL, so we do typically get the short end of the stick for couponing.

Florida doesn’t do half bogo because we don’t have a food tax. States with a food tax require that each item sold has to have a food tax attached to it. That’s why there is half bogo in states other than Florida. Personally, I’d rather have half bogo in Florida as well.
You’re so good at these deals! Thank you! I read from a blog that Publix is going to amend the coupon policy 🤕😵💫 where the spend threshold will no longer count the “free” item . Essentially you’ll have to spend the said amount after the BOGO . It’s going to roll out slowly.

I ❤ your videos. So, here is my dilemma. I know how to coupon a lil, what gets me is budgeting it separate (or not) from grocery$$. How so you categorize it?
It depends on what works best for you. I would say if you normally budget an amount for household products or things like that, or couponing in general you could possibly put it with that budget versus your regular grocery budget with deals like this what I normally do is grab items that I can stock my pantry or freezer with and then when I do my grocery budget for the week I will try to plan around some of those items so hopefully I’ll spend a little less on groceries that way. Hope that makes sense 😅

Yea, they are amending the coupon policy and point of sale will now reflect the actual price we pay vs the full price minus a discount
