Evaporated milk I have been swapping out for heavy cream and recipes. As long as you’re not making whipped cream with it it works out great and a lot less money.
You did fantastic! I do something similar. I have Kroger and know what day of the week they mark things on clearance. I go on that day get clearance items we eat regularly, and make a meal plan from there! I also love Aldi for my pantry staples!
I love Julia Pacheco! Her recipes are delicious and so affordable! I make those French bread pizzas 2 or 3 times a month. My family loves them. Thanks for sharing!
Honey! The drumsticks at Aldi were a great price! You could make many different meals with those. Think: chicken enchiladas, quesadillas, chicken and rice (arroz con pollo), chicken soup (caldo de pollo). Can you tell I’m Latina? 😅
I always go to shaws for meat! They have other affiliate stores they might have local to whoever is reading this. I check the ad every week and when the ground beef/chicken breast goes on sale for $2.97/lb, I stock up, portion and put it in the freezer! I got 2 huge value packs of ground beef (8 portions) for around $14/$15. I usually get 4 value packs but I couldn’t this week.
Andddd I only buy soda at DG. They usually have sales for 3/$12, 3/$13, 3/$15. I can normally Will grab the 3/$12 deal and the 3/$15 if available. Then I use the 5/$25 on Saturday. I get 6 12-packs of soda for only $20 or about $3.33ea. It’s such a fantastic deal and they go on sale every single week.
Ibotta had a rebate on Ben's Street Food and Old El paso tortillas. I bought some of the bean & rice burrito bowls. I diced up some chicken and some onion, then added the Street Food. This made the best Fajitas. This fed me for lunch for 4 days. It was as good as the stuff you get at Chipotle and less than half the price.
Looks like you got a lot of good items for your dinners! I have Julia's cookbook and I love it! Thank you, Kayla, for sharing these grocery shopping trips on a budge, they really help me a lot ❤❤
You did great! That’s how I shop. My goal is to spend $35 each grocery store which includes at Randall’s/walmart/kroger so somewhere between $100/$110 a week for a family of 5
I loved this video, Kayla! Thank you. Grocery prices are crazy. I have 6 people in my home and 4 are teenagers so our grocery bill is scary. And there are rarely leftovers any more so it's a lot of cooking! I love Julie Pacheco too. I haven't ordered her book yet but need to. She's such a sweetheart and all her recipes I've tried so far have been big hits in my house!
I like Julia’s channel also; so many recipes that are simple, easy and quick. Meal planning is one of the keys to staying on budget ; also try to go through the pantry every few months and pick out things close to expiring to incorporate them into your meal plan.
Our grocery budget is $200 to $250 a month. We are a family of 2 no kids 2 dogs. We plan everything out and make sure we eat from pantry and freezer first and then make our list
I buy discounted food too. I freeze the meat. 65 on retirement and ss. I love making money stretch, and still eat well. I bought 18 eggs at Costco for $4.99 today. Cheapest eggs in my area. I love your "shopping on a budget " videos!
You did a good job with your budget. Do you have other local grocery stores where you can shop their sales? It’s good to stockpile items you use when they’re on sale if you have the space. When I find red sticker meat at Aldi, I’ll buy extra, not just for what I’ll use that week. There are weeks I just buy fresh items because I can cook out of my freezer and pantry. It’s economical in these days of higher prices and especially helpful when you’re sick or the weather is bad, or you have an unexpected expense. Watch Joyfully Thriving. She is very smart about grocery shopping and budgeting.
My Aldi never has discounted anything, the shelves are always bare, theyre usually out of staple items so i have to get about half of my list at Wal-Mart. Theres a few aldi within 15 miles of me, one in every city and theyre all the same, empty. I love aldi so it sucks that i cant get everyrhing in one store because theyre never stocked. Eggs are $4/dozen here for reg eggs. $6+ for pasture raised.
Normally I budget $150 max per week for 3 (which includes a husband with a sweet tooth and a 19 year old son with a big appetite). My regular budget also includes paper products, cleaning supplies etc). I’m doing a January (maybe Feb too) pantry challenge; doing $50 a week. 😮😊
My family does not eat dark meat. I do shop for the purdue chicken breasts. We do white chicken chilli, chicken enchiladas. To stretch the chicken. My kids love 🍔. Plus the Hawaiian rolls. I do alot of porkloin or pork bbq. Blt s are a favorite too. I spend 250.00 a week. I love the 10.00 off 50.00. No you got great deals. Under 100.00.
I have an Aldi but I RARELY see any red stickers . Seems like they just order way way less and rather have half empty shelves then overstock and markdown . I'm in FL though o feel like our state just stinks at finding grocery sales /deals

Smart idea. Thanks!
My mother was a professional cook, and that’s what they would use when they had a tight budget
A way to avoid wasting any spinach is to freeze whatever you don't use. Perfect for smoothies or any cooked soups and things
These are my favorite videos that you do. The meals are what we would eat and not tons of weird stuff. Love these. Please keep doing them.
Awesome!!! 👏🏻 Love Julia’s channel! I get so many great ideas from her too! ❤

Throw your extra fresh spinach in the freezer. Great for soup and pasta. I learned that from Becky at Acre Homestead.
That’s a great idea!
@@CouponingWithKaylajust chop it up and add into your pizza sauce. It will wilt down and wont alter the flavor too much. No waste, added vitamins.

I am shopping for 2 seniors with some dietary restrictions. My aldis rarely has price reductions.

😢😢I wish we had an Aldi. My closest is 5 hours away 😅
What are your thoughts on the cookbook so far?

I have never seen discounted meat at Publix. 🤔
My budget is $50 a week by choice. $75 if I find a decent price on something my family eats.
Don’t shop while your hungry
That’s a good tip too! 😅
Eggs in California are $8.99 a dozen 😳😭
OMG 😳
I had a target cartwheel for the amount off of a grocery purchase - disappeared this am. Has anyone else had that happen. ?
Oh no! I think mine said good through the 11th
I’m curious, what state do you live in?
I believe Tennessee @Kayla forgive me if I'm wrong.
@ I was going to guess that!
