I’m loving this adventure! Not sure if you’re looking for feedback but I’d love to see a layover of your notion while you’re planning at some point (like a screen recording that you just stick in the corner) and a fridge/pantry walkthrough where you look for what you have in stock already. No worries if this doesn’t interest you, just wanted to say what this gal would like to see 💗 Proud of you for making time to do this!

You can peel the ginger and put it in a small freezer bag in the freezer. It's easy to grate as a frozen chunk. You could peel it frozen, too. I just find it easier to peel first, doesn't really matter, though.

Leave your ginger out and then if it starts to sprout (usually will last out for about a month), place it in a pot with potting soil and you can grow your own. It is really easy to grow and when you harvest, just break off what you need and put back in the potting soil. So simple.

When you freeze ginger, don't bother peeling the ginger first because it is easier to peel ginger after it is frozen. Just cut the ginger root into approximately 1-inch chunks. Freeze the chunks in a single layer on a plate or cookie sheet, uncovered, for 1 to 2 hours. Transfer the frozen chunks to freezer containers or bags. The initial single lay...

Jackie, I get fresh ginger at Sam’s club and throw it in the freezer. It lasts quite a while and it shreds better when it is frozen. I also go to the Aldi website and price out items I am looking for, as if I am going to have them delivered, the prices are about 10 cents higher than in store. I can price out my grocery shopping and have a bit of a cushion.

I can’t menu plan. I have tried it but it’s not me. I know what I have in my fridge, freezer and pantry. Deciding what we are going to each for a whole week just doesn’t cut it with me. Each night after we eaten I just get out whatever I feel like for the next day. I defrost in the fridge and cook for that night. Our meals are basic usually meat, chicken or salmon with veggies or salad. In winter I cook up casseroles and soup in my slow cooker. I freeze in containers and take out the night before what we will eat the next day. It works for me.

    Please don't hate me
    But
Your budget is not a budget for many, 1/2 the amount would be more of a budget cause that is more like a budget amount for most people. The foods you choose as in recipes are more exotic than most people would try. Nothing wrong with what you did but if you really want to do budget meals please do some research. You can still have Morroccon meals but do meals that true natives would eat. Please don't be discouraged by my words but maybe put a little more down to earth with your so call budget meals. I mean other bloggers are feeding more than 2 people on $30.00 a week and making great meals that cover more than 1 sitting per meal. Good luck and keep going strong

I watch a ton of budget grocery and budget meal plan videos and I haven't seen ANYONE with a $30 a week budget except when they're doing a special (short term) challenge.
Also, she's cooking within the budget of her family - there is not some magical budget number that makes something an officially RUclips approved budget meal plan.
