I'm dead to sin. I don't need to sin. Sin has no power over me. I choose to follow Jesus. I choose NOT to sin It is finished, I'm free. Sin no longer has power over me. I don't have to be a slave to sin. This brings so much joy
Amen! If we are in Christ, we have been baptized into His death and as such, that old sinner we used to be has been dethroned. We have been placed into the death of Christ, which is a position of victory over sin. It is finished!
I am an alcoholic who keeps relapsing. Despite the number of times that God has pulled me out of the pit. But I absolutely dont give up. I know my God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit have not given up on me. ROMANS is my favourite- I so identify.
I say this in love… this is the lie Satan would have us believe, our identity is not in the sin of our old man/woman, our identity is in Christ, your are a child of the Most High God. I too struggled with Romans 6:11 but now I know we must reckon all the time that we are dead to the flesh (the old man/woman) and now we walk in the newness of life(the new man/woman) in Christ. Peace be with you Lisa!❤️🕊️
One morning I were praying to God. I told him, "I don't want to fall short." He replied MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT..... I cried and thanked him. I felt a peace over me.i must say I can't leave God. I'm so forus on pleasing him daily and to have the best relationship with him...
I an so thankful I found Pastor Paul's teachings. Since listening to him, I have a better understanding of Roman's and Revelation. I have studied Roman's many times, and this is the first time I have an understanding of the book of Roman's. Thank you for your teaching of the Bible, Pastor Paul.
I really thank God for this man So...to believe that you have entered into the death of Christ and that sin no longer has dominion over your life would only be possible for people who actually want to live a godly life. ... Lord, bless my heart with a Godly desire
I thank God, I found Calvary Chapel Ontario! Paster Paul’s teachings have helped me to draw nearer to my Lord and Savior, his loving Father and his Holy Spirit! ❤🎉
My whole Christian walk I've missed the meaning of Rom 6:11 and have suffered for it. Thank you Pastor Paul for an excellent explanation. Its freeing to know that I am saved by grace through faith and now live by grace through faith.
Wonderful Jesus having chosen not to sin, is a life, of walking daily being filled with love, peace and abundance of Joy unspeakable the love relationship with Jesus Christ is incredible ♥ Thank you Pastor Paul, beautiful teaching the love of Jesus is so complete, in all we could ever ask for, Praise His name forever!
That quote gave me chills. Thank you for being part of the work of God rekindling the love of His word in my heart. I am so thankful that I have died to sin and am no longer a slave. This world, frankly, is the pits a lot of time. I have a lot of chronic pain and health problems. I may not be happy a lot of the time but I always have joy that my circumstances can't change, and that is the joy of the Lord. Maranatha.
I got saved through Calvary Chapel's Church Horizon Christian Fellowship. Chuck Smith is responsible for 1700 churches worldwide, The Pastors in these churches are truly blessed, with their teaching style, Just Word for Word in Scripture Chapter and verse.Pastor Paul is one of the Many growing us Spiritually in the Word of God.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks, Pastor LeBoutillier, You've been of great help as I study the book of Romans and Acts here in Kenya. May God continue blessing yours abundantly.
I thank you Pastor for this powerful teaching on the death with Christ to become a new creation. Very clear and simply explained. God bless you. Watching this in May2024
Pastor your teaching are really wonderful. I see the voice of the word in you. I heard the voice of God, Jesus and Paul too from your sermon. Thanking for your devoted time in teaching us.
Absolutely, Marvaless, Wonderful this teaching the HolySpirit is with us in victory as we apply and obey all being said, Hallelujah to our Lord and Master Jesus Christ ❤ Just wanting to jump for joy to know the Absolute truth of Roman's Chapter 6 and the Peace we walk in..Thank you Jesus Christ❤ for setting us free! Thank you Pastor Paul for sharing your time in teaching us God's fullfillment in keeping us on the Narrow Road leading to Eternal life ❤ See you soon Pastor Paul.. you are so appreciated behond words! me and our Faithful Loving Jesus Christ.❤
What a blessing and revelation. Thank you. And you know, If I can add; It almost seems likely that, unless we understand how we have been included in Christ's death, as if it were we who died, (for He suffered it on our behalf) or... If we don't get or understand who we are in Him, then how can the power of this truth help us or set us free? It's only when we begin to understand that, from God's perspective, we already died the death of disobedience, (yet it was Christ who did this substitution on our behalf instead of us suffering it). and if we believed in Him and accepted His substitution death, then we also are included in His resurrection too. Therefore, from God's perspective, it is as if we are already 'seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus' . We "literally" have had the victory won for us, but now must apply it with the mind or heart of faith. To believe that which is unseen, but which we believe to be utterly true, only then allows it to work for us. This being why many of us often struggle with and fall back into the slavery of our past life. Not because we were worse sinners, but because we did not understand this truth. It's like being poor to the point of starvation. Then some kind soul credits our account with 10,000 bucks, yet we were never made aware of it. We will continue to live in starvation as a beggar, even though we actually have all we need to live correctly. Only when that benefit is made know to us, will it then free us to 'not starve'. Or in reality, not live as a beggar but as a son of God. Again, thank you, this helped me to understand why I back-slid for a season until God finally began to bring this kind of understanding to me.
Amen! We are free from sin through our union with Jesus in His death, but if we don’t know that, we’ll continue to live under the dominion of sin, for the simple reason that we think we must.
Wow such powerful words!!! A must read over and over again to get it deep down into my spirit!!! What a blessing your words are!!! I thank you for them!!!
Thank you Pastor for illuminating this teaching for me. I am walking a new life under the Grace of Christ Jesus. I will pray to be fully immersed in Christ and take the victory of no longer being a slave. Every blessing to you and your ministry.
Thank you for this series on Romans. I'm an associate pastor, and am teaching on Romans as you were here. It was/is great to hear what you have to say and get some great thoughts that piggy-backed (or helped me expound), off of what you were saying. Thanks again my brother! :)
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today is March 31, 2018. It is Saturday in Holy Week or the Vigil of Easter/Easter Eve. Romans 6:3-11 will most likely be read in churches holding services today.
I never knew the meaning of Roman 6:3-4. Thank you Pastor Paul for the clear explanation. You are a great pastor, my church on line Calvary Chapel Ontario, at first I’m so excited thinking that this church is located here in Ontario Canada. Btw, I’m from Ontario, Canada.
The verses you are siting, is Paul describing his past (without Christ) as a Jew living under the law. Yes, at that time he was under the control of Sin. (a slave to Sin).
Never thought anything out of Seattle would be worth listening to. Color me pleasantly surprised. Now to find your views on Leviticus 20:13 to see if you waiver.
My friend from Congo told me how Belgian colonizators used to baptize the indigenous people. Exactly as described in 18:30. They took a large group to a bridge and a priest poured water on all of them at once.
I pray that Christians will come to understand that they should be dead to sin. And I like your example of the Disney belief, because so many Christians see " believe in" that way. I say no even the demons believe, to "believe in" is to trust that one is capable of achieving.
After being baptized into Christ, which is by faith and only symbolized by water baptism, we have new life in Christ. Notice that water baptism isn’t referenced in Romans 6. The subject is baptism into Christ and into His death.
Your assumption is that such a person who falls into slavery to sin is no longer saved. That assumption needs to be addressed. Write me and we can talk about it. www.ccontario.com/pastor-paul
I appreciate the teachings thru the Bible. Almost all the way through; only 2 more books to go. However, I think there is a blind spot here to the literal Greek translations & interpretations on baptism. Its a slippery slope and can become "the thing" (water regeneration) - I think that is what you are arguing strongly against. And I agree with you. Its not the water. But it is our (passive) step of faith in obedience to His command and His work to save us.
The Lord showed me that sexual immorality has already been defeated, we must just except it and believe it and it will be so............It visits me every day still but 2.5 years I dont entertain it, It has no sting anymore.......
If you did not know what baptism actually was when you got baptized, is that really a valid baptism? To me it sounds like you're saying you just got dunked on water. I know the people in Romans didn't know, but we have the Scriptures, and it is our duty to know. In Romans 3:25 it says "God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood - to be received by faith." (NIV) If we are joining him in his death, we are must have the faith that we are coming in contact with his blood. Doesn't seem very different from baptizing a baby that has no idea why he's getting sprinkled or dipped.
I agree water not necessary you have to believe that Jesus died for your sins and if you truly believe that the Holy Spirit will baptize you into the body of Christ!
We are born with this thing called Sin, and Sin is what formed in us evil desires. Rom. 7:8 Sin gives us a Sin Nature. We also have Gods nature built in us. Everyone has freedom to make choices.
I'm dead to sin. I don't need to sin. Sin has no power over me. I choose to follow Jesus.
I choose NOT to sin
It is finished, I'm free. Sin no longer has power over me. I don't have to be a slave to sin. This brings so much joy
So beautifully explained, the areas which were so confusing.
Amen! If we are in Christ, we have been baptized into His death and as such, that old sinner we used to be has been dethroned. We have been placed into the death of Christ, which is a position of victory over sin. It is finished!
AMEN!
Good

By ourselves (flesh)we cannot say no to sin but through the help of the holy spirit and obedience

This sermon is put in such an easily understandable way. I love hearing him preach and I learned a lot from this. God bless this church and pastor. 🙂

Thank you so much man of God. I love the way you teach the word of God. You inspire me.
Praise God for this pastor. Rightly dividing the word of truth.
this is SUCH a a great explanation of this chapter!! i’ve never understood what “baptized into Christ’s death” meant until now!
thank you for the bible study, always refreshing and soul lifting. more grace and anointing.
I’m soo thankful for this Pastor. Great at his gift of teaching rightfully dividing the word of Truth
Humbled by the GRACE of GOD. God's Riches At Christ's Expense.

The Truth sets you free

(A) Excellent Thank You watch again
(B) 1st time (3/23/19) : Done
Do you guys have any other locations? I’m in Oklahoma. You guys are so far from me but I love this church!
32:26. What about that verse that speaks about I do the things I don't want to do etc?
The verses you are siting, is Paul describing his past (without Christ) as a Jew living under the law. Yes, at that time he was under the control of Sin. (a slave to Sin).
wow amazing
This is why we read His Word
Never thought anything out of Seattle would be worth listening to. Color me pleasantly surprised. Now to find your views on Leviticus 20:13 to see if you waiver.
That is amazing baptized into his death never heard it that way before🤔
This baptism is done by Jesus with the Holy Spirit correct ? And these verses refers to salvation or been born again correct ?
Many Christians may not comprehend that we are set free from sin....verse 11
If people believe they are saved by water baptism, are they lost?
My friend from Congo told me how Belgian colonizators used to baptize the indigenous people. Exactly as described in 18:30. They took a large group to a bridge and a priest poured water on all of them at once.
Amen 🙏
Which bible version are you using here?
Gods just gonna have to forgive me. Bahahaha. I almost fell out of me chair on that one.
Great teaching! Also that guy sounds like Glenn beck lol
Is it true once saved always saved. Once your name is written in the Lambs Book of Life can it be taken out?
You can read what Pastor Paul has written here: pastorpaul-cco.blogspot.com/2019/08/q-do-you-believe-that-christian-can.html

I pray that Christians will come to understand that they should be dead to sin. And I like your example of the Disney belief, because so many Christians see " believe in" that way. I say no even the demons believe, to "believe in" is to trust that one is capable of achieving.
Biblical Christianity is freedom to choose not to be slave to the sin of self love
So we have a new life in Christ after baptism?
After being baptized into Christ, which is by faith and only symbolized by water baptism, we have new life in Christ. Notice that water baptism isn’t referenced in Romans 6. The subject is baptism into Christ and into His death.
The question I find so many people don’t know is that this baptism is without water, it’s the baptism by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ
Is it possible for someone who falls again into slavery after being baptized by grace, to be saved again?
Your assumption is that such a person who falls into slavery to sin is no longer saved. That assumption needs to be addressed. Write me and we can talk about it. www.ccontario.com/pastor-paul
