Animals And Men BBC John Peel 02 April 1979.
After doing the LP version I had loads of raw material left over, so I decided I might as well
use up some of it on the BBC session version.
Faster & quite a bit more ferocious than the LP take. I suspect the Futurists would approve.

jeez, and i thought it was hard playin bass along with album version. Faaaaaast!
It feels like a juggernaut on the verge of flying off the road at any moment. Wonderfully manic, but with just enough element of control....
I love this version!!!
It probably slightly eclipses the LP version.
Hello. Fine work you’re doing with these videos. I actually made a video for Jolly Roger about 14 years ago. I took several Errol Flynn swashbuckler movies and made a sort of tribute. I didn’t do anything with it it was just made for fun. I even took the time to decolorize the master of Ballantrae so that they would all be in black and white. It opened up with about 8 seconds from a scene in Captain Blood, then the Ants kick in for the full album version.
Anyway, The thing I like about that version so much is just how sped up it is. I think a few tracks from Dirk wears white socks stuck around too long or something because the Peel sessions and or other versions scattered about are superior to the album track.
The big one being Physical. Are used to always wonder why he thought the track so special that he played at every concert and then I heard the peel session track which once again was sped up And liked it a whole lot more. Adam Ant and Siouxsie Sioux are probably my favorite two musicians of all time.
So anyway thank you very much for doing such a great job of supplying videos on RUclips. Strangely as it may sound I’ve never heard Henry and his baby until your video. i’m hooked on that song now. I’ll bet you have a lot of scarce material and I look forward to whatever you choose to share with us. Again thanks. 🙂
@@robertkelley5144 Cheers for that. Yeah some people aren't that keen on 'Dirk', but I like it as it is. The Decca version of 'Physical' is on my channel. I've added all the '70s songs I'm going to now. There's 2 main ones I haven't bothered with as I don't like them (plus a rather pathetic one from The Putney Tapes ).
@@wirewehear7254 I wouldn’t say that I don’t like Brooke wears white socks. Catholic day is one of my favorite songs. nine plan failed,, table Tok, Cleopatra. There’s great songs on that album. And I loved animals in bed I just loved it so much more when I heard the sped up version.
