Nurse shark! Pretty common out here. They’re actually the only type of shark that doesn’t have to be swimming constantly, it’s actually able to just lay on the bottom. Also completely harmless to humans! Lots of aquariums have some that you can actually pet.
@@chetbrazier2256 It’s a white tip reef shark, they are pretty docile until your spear fishing and have some fresh fish blood around you. Then you will see a different side of them. I have came across so many white tips, even 6-7’ ones. They don’t seem to care about splashing or have any interest in people. Unless...your spear fishing. They will follow you...and they will try to take your fish if they are hungry.
haha! that's amazing!! You have to visit this place, it's great! This area is free to potter around in. We swam with big sharks on the north of the island, but that costs money, but the sharks are bigger too lol
@@kosmicc3160 idk where you went but the right side which is the actual cove is a deep snorkeling spot lmao . It varies from the rocky shore foing from couple feet then at random depths because of the rocks ... I'd say 10-30 feet if you go further down . You might be talking about the left side if you're saying its 7 feet at the end 🤣
Area where video was shot avgs. 3-4 ft deep. Where snoozing shark is at, 5-8ft. Sandbars in lagoon lowers water depth. ALWAYS have swim buddy, especially non-swimmers/first-time visitors....PROCEED W/CAUTION
@@s34nvideos 😂 Well, we went and found the “safest” way down. If someone wants to know: Walking to the cove from the parking lot, walk around the left of the public restrooms and then the grass slopes down to a small sandy beach where you can wade into the water. It’s pretty shallow on the left side and great for first-timers. A local friend told me that better fish/snorkeling is to the right in the deeper part- still within the cove. I also read that people with advanced snorkeling skills should venture outside the cove.
I couldn’t resist, I found a similar little white tip reef shark and I held him. If you click on my icon you can find the video. Sorry if it offends anyone, I just wanted to see the little shark a little closer and was willing to have a shark bite scar if he ended up biting me.
10 days in Oahu & we went to Shark's cove 3x! It's that good. Never thought I'd be face to face with big fish & sea turtles.
Crazy awesome! Thought was going to be clickbait. Hopefully the shark was okay
Thanks for watching! :)
Love your accent.. Beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing 🤙 🌺 🥰
What type of shark was that..

That one white tip shark or in Hawaiian Mano Lalakea. I live on Hawai’i and I’m one spear fisherman and fisherman.

Beautiful!! 🤩
How deep is it?
It varies all over
Not that deep I went and it was like 7 feet deep at the end and it was nothing at the beginning

Jeff R. Tbh I didn’t measure and I didn’t remember because when I made that comment I hadn’t been for like 6 months
@@hyun808 the right? You mean out of the little cove? It’s shallow unless you go out.
as much as i swim at Pupukea never actually seen a shark there seen Hawaiian green turtles
Me too swam at sharks cove and pupukea yesterday and saw a turtle. Waimea and kawela bay got some sea turtles as well.
@@Antbeast23 nice I never get to go to waimea😂 too small of parking too crowded
Is this beginner friendly? Idk how to swim 😕

I wouldnt go out far as a beginner, but theres so much life close to shore
As with SCUBA divers, ALWAYS use the buddy system & keep each other in visual range
No surfing is fun but snorkeling in Hawaii the best I surf and snorkel at maui
My dad caught that kind of shark at the beach nearby, released it back.
My dad did too but we ate it lols its tastes like fish but less tasty
Very helpful to have you show the parking lot and across the street! I wish you would have shown how to get down... 😏 Thanks for the video, though ☺️
Jump!
