as a guy who has had a tube amp for as long as i can rember, the tone of the Katana doesn't cut it for me. But i can imagine using it as a quick noodling practice amp.
Great video. You are the only person posting a video playing the new Artist Gen 3. Evreyone else is waiting for it. How did you manage that? Thanks, it sounded great! I pre-ordered one from G.C. Trading in the Artist MK2. Hope they ship soon.
I just got one and i love the tone of this. But having to spend any sum if money to get the Bluetooth adaptor is kinda making me mad. My 15 bucks desk speaker has built-in Bluetooth!!!
Still no effects loop ????????? Why ....The effects are nice but i love rhe choice of running old and nee pedals the most efficent way . Lie 6 ,even the debut blackstar 50 has it Some great new features ...but maybe i missed something Ive had 2 50s but got rid of them and bought a catalyst and thinking about another going true stereo ...adding some stereo pedals to my boards ...
@@DannyUnderwood Thank you for the update! I pre-ordered one June, 4th . I have the Artist MK2 and although some people think it is not worth the upgrade, from what I see I do not agree. Hoping to be pleased with my decision. I enjoyed your video.
I just bought a Katana MK2 50W a few months ago and now you come out with a new model??? You need to have a trade-in program to let us upgrade at a special price. 😆
@@longandmcquade Tempting, but considering my MK2 is basically brand new, right out of the box, any loss in value would be a waste of money. I still have yet to test out the software and make any mods or install any patches into it, in fact it has probably been used less than one of your floor models. LOL I think what I will end up doing is buying a Katana Go instead, if they ever come back into stock in Montreal. Besides, I will be getting a Fender Tone Master Pro in about a month which should cover my needs well into the distant future!
Such a missed opportunity. The katana Go has a small LCD screen that allows for a tuner and to see what effect is selected so you don't have to carry a crib sheet to see what effect "yellow" is. It's their own design! Why isn't it in the Katana? Such a shame.
Long time Katana user checking in. Or... at least until 9 months ago. Loved the Katana for it's great tube feel and dynamics in the high-gain arena but it never really did the classic rock thing at well as I liked without spending endless time tweaking in the Tone Studio. Then I tried the Catalyst and having NEVER been a Line 6 fan, I couldn't deny how good it sounded for classic tones. As far as high-gain metal, well I have a Revv pedal that takes care of that in spades. Looks to me like the Gen 3 Katana is trying to catch up to the Catalyst in terms of the tonality it was lacking in comparison with the new "Pushed" model. Problem is, if I want to push the amp, I should be able to do that with the volume control on my guitar or an overdrive pedal. Both the Boutique and Dynamic models on the Catalyst allow this and are much more like a tube amp than the Katana models. Honestly, I always felt the different models on the Katana were nothing more than preset ranges for the amount of gain you want. Think I'll stick with the Catalyst. It has a richer, fuller tone for the same price as the K50, which has always been lacking the balls of the K100 and Artist.
Very annoying amp, I bought this to use the Bluetooth for the tone studio on my iPad …..doesn’t work unless I update the amp with a laptop which I don’t have. They don’t mention this of course!!!!!
@@DannyUnderwood it had the best pacing, best character development, had the feel of uncertainty of the fate of the galaxy still. Freaking Hoth man. I do not stand alone that it is the best in the series, but it is also one of the bet movies ever made.

Imagine if there were no such thing as tube amps. What would all these digital amps and devices sound like? Forty years on and the promise is still the same, "Sounds just like Tubes." "Sounds just like analog." FFS, give up already and sell them for what they are, cheaper more convenient copies for people who either can't be bothered or can't afford the real thing. It's the same old song and dance.
Thank you for having me! Some tasty jams were had. 😎
Your excitement is contagious!
I hope they gave you a raise for that awesome presentation. Well done.

I have the MkII head and it's one of the best amps I've ever owned. The bluetooth and Pushed on the Gen 3 is tempting.

it’s 2024 and we gotta buy a blue tooth adapter why isn’t it just built in ?
Excellent stuff, gents! Loving your work.
This Gen 3 looks amazing! Great work!
I have the Gen1 100 212 - I think adding the artist gen 3 would be nice - especially if i can go stereo with it.
Going to get the gen 3 artist. Really for bar gigs and stuff you don't need much else
Sounds great.
Love it especially the 25 lbs.

Sorry, I missed the beginning when you introduced yourself as being from Boss. That would answer my question

Why couldn’t they make a dual speaker stereo version?

No one at Roland responds to the simple question of when you all expect the Artist Gen 3 to ship to the dealers. Can you give an ETA
They will be in stock around August!

When is gen 4 going to be released? 🤣
