I’ve noticed the dip in price in the Nintendo Wii. I also used to sell a bunch of them. Still finding them but they sit a little longer. Great list of consoles to collect for. Unfortunately I don’t find as much Wii U stuff around here though.
I love collecting OGX, definitely my favorite system to collect for. Affordable, and the library is so good! Plus there are so many cool rare versions of the console itself. The Halo Special Edition, the Mountain Dew Limited Edition, Crystal, etc... Different colors, different controllers, a bit of everything.
My Xbox 360 collection is now my biggest collection. I've been focusing on that since those games tend to be cheaper than the PS3 versions. Plus, many of the games also play on Xbox One and some are also Xbox One X enhanced. I also like using the Wii U for Wii games. I find it to be the best way to get Wii games on my HDMI TV. The adapters are good, but I find using the Wii U better.
Awesome video. I've built up my PSP collection over the last few months. You can still find many of the heavy hitters for dirt cheap on ebay. Many of the games hold up extremely well too! This also applies to DS & 3DS games....for now.
Great video guys! I agree we need to shift the needle and focus on games and systems that are cheap now because soon they may be the next hot console to collect for.
I just got back in the game about 6 months ago. Mainly Nintendo Wii s built my collection, there everywhere they flip fast and 15 into 50 60 bucks, can buy you a lot of games you want. My collection has made me money not cost me money. And in Portland Oregon the goodwill outlet is packed full of people. And 90 to 95% of them want vintage clothes. Games are virtually untouched. So no game hunting is not dead.
Very cool! We have some collectors in our area like anyone else but most don’t grind at it daily. The deals are out there for sure. Happy hunting dude. Cheers!
LMFAO! Dude we have been laughing so much at that shit. It's so stupid too. But next time you see a funny guy out and about that is wearing a hat, just think about how funny it would be to play "Got Your Hat" with him. I guarantee you'll be smiling inside. Cheers!
I’m finding Xbox 360 and ps3 games and consoles r easy to find and r pretty cheap and I think now is the time to collect for those before they both shoot up in price in the near future
Great video!! I been hitting up my local goodwills on Sundays which are dollar days. I pick up all the Wii games and just put them away. When my 6 y/o is ready for the Wii she will have an awesome collection. And in the off chance she’s not interested I’ll have a nice collection for myself 😬
Excellent collecting tips. This past week I’ve picked up games for Wii, Wii U, PS2, PS3, og Xbox and 360 games. Many of them are plentiful and inexpensive for now. I wasn’t gaming during the 7th generation and going back into game collecting it’s been fun to discover these games and build a collection for cheap.
great video GOTG on oct 27 it well be the 18 anniversary of wwe smackdown here comes the pain so i was thinking maybe you guys can play game on youtube or live stream but you guys should create your own wrestlers see what you guys come up with
OG Xbox and 360 games are a steal. Went to a video game convention and picked up some awesome games. Like to the tune of 30-40 for like 7-8 bucks on average.
I bought a WiiU in 2019 and really want to expand my game collection for it in 2022. I’m not going for a complete collection or anything. Just a good collection of diverse titles. I also have to get more than a few virtual console downloads while I still can. Especially a lot of the GBA titles.
Great video as always By consoles i agree with you guys a lot but in the software look i think their are some problems like not every og xbox supported via backwards compatibility on the 360 and some of the supporting games don’t run good on a 360. And if someone want to try to do a full set collection for any Playstation/Nintendo console post 2006 it’s gonna be hard because all the limited run games type releases. I’m not one of those guys I’m collecting for stuff i like and want to own and play, piracy maybe not good but it’s helping me to check games before I bought them physically. Anyway my top 5 best consoles to collect today. 5. Genesis/Mega Drive - in the hardware way it’s worth because we have a lot of models and with the sega cd and 32x support you can grow the collection. Also it’s the best old school retro console to collect right now. 4. OG Xbox - I don’t need to explain you guys said it way better than me why. 3. PS2 - same here Dont really need to explain but a modded region free it’s the best way because the japan only games and some japanese games released in English in pal countries. 2. 3DS - not a lot of people collecting for handhelds but right now it’s the perfect time to collect 3ds games, the system it’s 10 years old and unlike the wii u majority of the 3ds games didn’t ported away for the switch and the backwards compatibility with ds along with the e-shop virtual console. 1. Wii - again you guys explain it the best. Honorable mentions PS3 - in the hardware point it’s worth it but now because the PSN fiasco (they removed the way to pay from ps3 and vita) physical games gonna be high again. PS4 - in software points it’s a really good time but honestly you don’t need to buy a ps4 today especially when the ps5 is fully backwards compatible with all the games. Also limited runs games type games gonna be hard to do a full set collection. Dreamcast - software point it’s difficult to get Dreamcast games in the wild, but getting a console it’s not hard and if you gonna mod it to something like a gdemu it’s the biggest reason to get a dreamcast. Xbox One - like the ps4 great to get in software but in hardware not so much, also the original xbone is just the worst the s and x are better version and the series x have full backwards compatibility. But unlike the ps4 you don’t have limited run games type of releases so it’s worth it if you guys want to get full set. Wii U - you guys explain it but i think the only reasons why to get a wii u are because the backwards compatibility with the wii and play games that’s still didn’t got ported like nintendo land, game & wario, xenoblade x & tank tank tank.
I love watching videos like this because video game collecting doesn't have to be expensive or difficult for everybody. I myself, even with 20+ consoles in my collection, love to find a good deal every now and again. The Wii U is in an interesting situation. Many of its best games have already been or going to be ported to the Switch which makes it a hard sell in most cases. By far the best application for the Wii U is to play Wii games in 1080P through HDMI. Anything for any Xbox is something that collectors should really consider getting nowadays. I've been going ham on the original Xbox and Xbox 360 this year and it's been a blast. So many great games for these consoles. The Xbox family of consoles is sorely underrated, even the Xbox One which is also been fun to collect. I also agree with the Wii, that console be worth getting even if you're just trying to play GameCube games. Getting component cables for the Wii is much easier than the GameCube and even though most of the library for the Wii is shovelware there are some good titles to be had. The only reason to pick a GameCube over the Wii is if you're trying to play Gameboy games on the TV and there's other options for that.
Glad you enjoyed. We are very interested to watch the Wii U market play out over the coming years. Are there enough exclusives to drive it? Not sure. But, with the Nintendo name on it I really think it could get nuts. Time will tell. Cheers!
Great video, gents! Your buying guide for the OG Xbox was the one that validated my choice. The N64 was my first console, but the OG Xbox was huge for me and my friends back in those days-especially for co-op. Live ‘05 is still the best NBA sim of all time, thanks to that tasty All-Star/dunk contest mode. Would love to see you guys co-op stream it. Keep up the awesome content!
Great video guys. Finally got a Microsoft console. My favorite pawn shop employee came through with a SICK offer on an XBox One S Blue Gears of War edition. I have been hunting Xbox exclusives only because I have so many of the last few generations of games on my PlayStation systems. Found Gears 1-5 and a few other gems. Bought CIB Alan Wake for $5 on the same day the remaster was dropped. Still looking for Rumble Roses XX, a pretty solid wrestling game disguised with Konami fan service. Cheers gentlemen!
The wii took a big nose dive this year I build up most of my Wii collection 2020 2021 just buying bundles and flipping them on Facebook/locally I can definitely see the hype for the Wii coming back around on the 20th anniversary cheers!
Definitely did for sure. Over the summer months till now it's hard to sell them for even $40. I was pulling damn near $70 a pop during the winter months. Thanks for watching man. Cheers!
Over here in the UK, I see PS2 and XBox 360 games everywhere. I'm just thankful that I have the majority of games that I'm interested in playing for 5th-8th gen systems, the 3rd and 4th gen SEGA systems and on handheld systems. The only gap for me is with NES and SNES games, I left it too late to start and now they're getting ridiculously expensive to get hold of.
I have been finding PS3s go for as less than $50 CIB at pawn stores and that is a steal. For the Wii U, it's pretty cool but I personally don't come across them often, and even if I found one I don't think I'd collect for it, mainly because in my area the Switch is pretty dominant at garage sales for a decent price, like this one time I found a person selling a switch for $150 with about 10 games (half of them being Wii U "exclusives") I would've bought the system, but I already have the games, and the Switch
I’m definitely picking up all PS2 games I can get. Most games are cheap nowadays. For some reason the Silent Hill games are insanely expensive though lol
That damn survival horror genre on the PS2 is nuts for sure. We actually just sold our SH2 on PS2 and opted for the XBOX variant. Way cheaper. Still like $40 though. Cheers!
I got a Wii about 18 months before COVID and when I got the games I was surprised how many great games and genres were available with the reputation it had. As well as light gun games, I am looking at point and click adventure games at the moment. Got Back to the Future a couple of weeks ago, and keeping an eye out for Broken Sword and Sam and Max. With the GameCube compatibility it is great and I also use the SNES mini controller for a lot of the retro games like SNK compilation and Super Mario All stars.
I know four different RUclipsrs that said that review Tech USA spawn wave Adam koralik Dreamcast guy Scot Woz I said the same thing about the Wii U it's going to end up like the Sega Saturn as far as collectability go that's why I got mine this year
LOL I can't even find a WiiU for less than $200 in my market, but we have a lot of competition down here. the local mom and pop used game stores have buyers on retainer. Same with Xbox console for $100, Wii is at least $50. However I did land an Xbox one X for $200.
Top 5 systems to collect for … 1) Neo Geo AES 2) Sega Saturn 3) Dreamcast 4) Super Nintendo 5) turbo graphix / pc engine All you need is either a 1/1000000 chance Of winning the lottery or be filthy rich in order to collect per console
ps3/xbox360 But I am already starting to transition to obscure ps4 and xbox one stuff. As I am already seeing the sales come out. I remember getting a bunch of ps3 from ebgames as well and it was buy one get 2 free - yes I will take 4 copies of folklore lol Great video guys!
Thanks to you guys I now own several guns and light gun games for the Wii and PS3!!! Thanks for the awesome content !!! Curious if you guys will ever do any repair or refurbishing how to videos ? Have a great day !!
Nice dude! Love us some light gun games for sure. As far as repair videos, I'm not sure. I do a lot of cleaning and repairing but there are so many great video out there on that stuff already. I don't know what we could offer that isn't already known. Hell, I've learned most of what I know in regards to repairs from You Tube vids. Except for the NES I guess. I've been tearing them bastards apart since I was 10 yrs old lol. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
I started collecting wii u games this year and never even played the console , I have the Zelda wii u on my shelf I bought of eBay with all inserts and plastics don’t even know if it works but looks in mint condition
Totally signed the video. Around here I dont see much Wii U. I did just pick one up for $40 but it is going into my collection. We have two Wii U now. Hack them and they are the easily one of my favorite systems. A hacked Wii U does GameCube, Wii and Wii U games perfectly. I find the 360 at every yard sale it seems. I have 6 or 7 of the various versions I need to get listed to sell not including those I've kept for our personal collection... I still find the OG Wii a lot too (sitting on 8 of them I think). I seldom pay more than $10 to $15 for either Wii or 360. I have not seen a single PS4 or Xbone in the wild yet.
Definitely! We occasionally see them but it's became kinda like finding a unicorn lately. Lots of slims and Super slims out there but not many fat boys. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid it's my favorite system. Has amazing hidden qualities. Great video! I hope to find a 360 slim soon. I found a original 360 without HDMI recently real cheap.
Dude I REALLY need to stop. Like bad. I've bought 4 more this week. It's gotten out of control but I just can't let a Wii for $25 or less go lol. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid I’m glad I’m not the only one 🤣. I had to grab all the colours including the lovely 2012 Olympic blue 😍, but then grabbed some more white ones. #wiiaddiction. Cheers!
The OG Xbox is dirt cheap here in Malaysia too, despite their obscurity and rarity in this part of the world Probably because most users are not big on repairs, and the infamous clock cap killed a lot of consoles Or those old IDE hard disks died I got my first Xbox for MYR90 (around $20)
Simon Belmont over Spider-Man, all day! You guys haven't done a collection video for your Wii stuff, have you? I'm interested to see what you kept and what you tossed.
OG Xbox also has more games that cannot be played on a 7th generation console, so not only can you find cheaper games, but games you need the old hardware to play.
Loved the comment about hacking. Also tend to get that alot. Jeez, collector channels will not talk or give tutorials on those things... but yeah, stupid owning all that physical and no roms! Other than that another awesome video. Might do the same for the german market which will be a little different from console availability and price Cheers!
Thing is the Wii might be overlooked, but the best games of its library are getting expensive; looking at Metroid, Mario And Zelda Games. Some of them like Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Pandoras Tower or Muramasa can easily get to the 100$ mark and more. Meanwhile the Xbox360 library is dirt cheap (at least here in France), it's not hard to find Halo, Gears of War games, Red dead redemption or Fable 2 between the 5$-10$ range...
Great video! Random question, I picked up a ps3 move bundle, how do y’all charge your move controllers? I tried plugging it in the wall but didn’t want to charge, the controllers work when I plug it in the ps3 but is there a way to charge it by not using the ps3?
Good question. We just charge them plugged into the console. So when we know we are going to play something that uses them it takes a little bit of planning. I think there is a Sony branded charging station if I remember right but we've never had one. Cheers!
hey guys, i'm looking at your back wall and wondering...where do you buy your game cases at? I've got some gba games and i cant afford to buy the cardboard boxes but i've seen DS type cases that look aweseome but some of those on ebay look really cheap or dont have the whole (or most) of the game library available. HELP!
Awesome video - I agree there’s a lot still out there - just have to look… - and I did lol - pick up a black and red wii mini (for cheap) recently and it’s perfect with an cheap hdmi upscaler - games look sweet on this thing - I was shocked!!! - plus I have 4-5 Wii’s already (1 is modded) - I wanted to give an suggestion or heads up about handhelds - the DS lites are super cheap right now and have a great library (huge library of games some good some trash but cheap) so if you wanted to go with handheld(s) as well - that be my go to and it’s backwards compatible with Gameboy advance games - cheers 🍻 - BAN
I noticed several RUclipsrs stating that they shop at garage sales for their hunt for retro games…. Where the hell are these guys shopping, because here in New York City, we don’t really have that besides shops like Goodwill and a two I went to to donate clothing never have any games. Is New Yawkers have to rely on video game stores specific to retro games and luckily, there are quite a few. It could be in the city/state a person lives in as I noticed that in more rural areas of the country, you’ll see plenty of garage sales versus heavily populated cities, but I could be wrong.

Plus, many of the games also play on Xbox One and some are also Xbox One X enhanced. I also like using the Wii U for Wii games. I find it to be the best way to get Wii games on my HDMI TV. The adapters are good, but I find using the Wii U better.
Found you guys after i watched retro game repairs videos of fixing consoles. Like the channel a lot.
Have to agree with the og xbox, the 360 and ps2. My local electronic shop has tons of these games. Not so much wii u stuff here but still agree.
Hell ya! Glad you found us man. Cheers!
Perfect timing just started my collection just got a n64 a super Nintendo and a 360! Great video🔥👍
Hell ya! Enjoy the journey dude! It can be a really fun hobby. Especially if you enjoy the hunt. Cheers!
Awesome video. I've built up my PSP collection over the last few months. You can still find many of the heavy hitters for dirt cheap on ebay. Many of the games hold up extremely well too!
This also applies to DS & 3DS games....for now.
For sure. We have been snagging quite a bit of DS stuff lately. That market will be insane at some point. Cheers!
Cheers!
My favorite to collect for is 360
These are the games at every yard sale in my area
Got-g-hat
LMFAO! Dude we have been laughing so much at that shit. It's so stupid too. But next time you see a funny guy out and about that is wearing a hat, just think about how funny it would be to play "Got Your Hat" with him. I guarantee you'll be smiling inside. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid you know your gona have fans playing got-g-hat now with Wes out in public.. Lol
I love how games are usually cheaper on the 360 compared to ps2.
i think the best advice when comes to collecting video games (and anything else really) is to have a limit budget of money to spend on games.
One of the best console in history is the SEGA DREAMCAST. 20 YEARS AGO OF ITS TIME. OUTSTANDING GRAPHICS AND GAMES.
Agreed!! Love the Dreamcast!! So many great unique games!
I’m finding Xbox 360 and ps3 games and consoles r easy to find and r pretty cheap and I think now is the time to collect for those before they both shoot up in price in the near future
Thanks this video was really helpful. I've been not knowing what consoles to collect for and this video has been super useful!
Great video, I scored an extra Wii U pad for 20 the other day. The OG Xbox is one of my favorite systems!
Great video!! I been hitting up my local goodwills on Sundays which are dollar days. I pick up all the Wii games and just put them away. When my 6 y/o is ready for the Wii she will have an awesome collection. And in the off chance she’s not interested I’ll have a nice collection for myself 😬
Nice! I wish our Goodwill had Sunday $1 days. That sounds badass. Ours are closed on Sunday's around here :(. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Excellent collecting tips. This past week I’ve picked up games for Wii, Wii U, PS2, PS3, og Xbox and 360 games. Many of them are plentiful and inexpensive for now. I wasn’t gaming during the 7th generation and going back into game collecting it’s been fun to discover these games and build a collection for cheap.
great video GOTG on oct 27 it well be the 18 anniversary of wwe smackdown here comes the pain so i was thinking maybe you guys can play game on youtube or live stream but you guys should create your own wrestlers see what you guys come up with
This list was absolutely spot on! Thoroughly enjoyed this video, keep it up boys! Love your content 🔥
First time you guys have shown up in my feed in weeks and I have been subscribed. Love your channel.
Gotta love You Tube lol! I think the algorithm doesn’t like our fowl mouths :). Cheers!
OG Xbox and 360 games are a steal. Went to a video game convention and picked up some awesome games. Like to the tune of 30-40 for like 7-8 bucks on average.
Now is the time for sure. Cheers!
I bought a WiiU in 2019 and really want to expand my game collection for it in 2022. I’m not going for a complete collection or anything. Just a good collection of diverse titles. I also have to get more than a few virtual console downloads while I still can. Especially a lot of the GBA titles.
Great video as always
By consoles i agree with you guys a lot but in the software look i think their are some problems like not every og xbox supported via backwards compatibility on the 360 and some of the supporting games don’t run good on a 360.
Honorable mentions
PS3 - in the hardware point it’s worth it but now because the PSN fiasco (they removed the way to pay from ps3 and vita) physical games gonna be high again.
You can really collect cheap with Gen 2 which is Intellivision and Atari. Everyone loves to ignore anything before NES,
i have a playstation 3 super slim that i got off of ebay and gta 5
I have the same Shovel Knight shirt. Def one of my fav shirts! You guys always have great shirts and vibes. Peace.
Hell ya dude! Kickass shirt for sure. Cheers!
Very nice! We just got an XBox One gifted to us recently and have been loving it. Love playing XBOX and 360 games on it. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Dont forget Gamestop sells last gen games for cheap, ive bought several ps3 games for $1
Damn. I been missing out
Wii u and original Xbox I've been mainly aiming at just lately. Great tips guys👍
Both so fun to collect for right now for sure. Thanks for watching man. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid the Wii u is my new favourite console at the mo, been play botw, looks so good on there.
Thank God sont updated the cmos problem with the latest patch
Dude that shovel knight t-shirt..... absolutely sick. I swear they need to put shovel knight on the NES, SNES and Genesis.
Cheers!
Sweet Shovel Knights shirt , love that game. Great video cheers 🍻
Thanks! One of my favs. I have a f'n t-shirt addiction :)
Great choices 👍👍👍👍
Sonic Riders for 10 dollars is an excellent price, it averages into the 30s in PriceCharting, very good game as well (unlike the awful Free Riders)
Yes it is! Always feels good to get good snags out in the wild! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid Did you end up buying it? Do you like Riders?
Yep we like Sonic Riders! Great game
@@GamingOffTheGrid Need to buy it for my collection, sucks that it's 30ish dollars now :(
Well, at least I have Sonic Heroes and Burnout 3/Revenge for now.
LOVE YOUR GUYS CHANNEL
Top 5 systems to collect for …
1) Neo Geo AES
2) Sega Saturn
3) Dreamcast
4) Super Nintendo
5) turbo graphix / pc engine
All you need is either a 1/1000000 chance Of winning the lottery or be filthy rich in order to collect per console
Yes, brilliant PS3 compatibility breakdown segment! ROFL
Currently collecting for the PS2 my brother and I grew up on GameCube and PS3 lol so I missed the PS2 hay days
Enjoy! PS2 is fun to collect for right now. For the most part it's still pretty affordable. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Gameboy games xbox 360 PS3 switch seeing Sega genesis still under the radar
ps3/xbox360 But I am already starting to transition to obscure ps4 and xbox one stuff. As I am already seeing the sales come out. I remember getting a bunch of ps3 from ebgames as well and it was buy one get 2 free - yes I will take 4 copies of folklore lol
Great video guys!
I love game collecting and game collecting videos. Once again another great video. ^_^
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed. We really appreciate the support.
Anytime I am glad to support fellow gamers. ^_^
Totally make that video about the DOWNLOAD code situation!!!!
Top Shelf content as always!!! Keep it up guys!!!
I'm so lucky to have found my phat ps3 out in the wild before people realized the value of it
I love ur collection bro I would every last of them games even if it the same copy
I bought a wii u (console with all cables and the gamepad) for 10 euros (around 12 dollars) plus 8 games and it is such a fun console to play on.
Hell ya dude! Killer score. Cheers!
Great suggestions guys. I haven’t as many Wii consoles as you guys lol but have grabbed a few different colours this last year 😁; super cheap games 👍👍
Cheers!
Great video guys! Wes you always have on some awesome gaming shirts. Where do you get them from?
The OG Xbox is dirt cheap here in Malaysia too, despite their obscurity and rarity in this part of the world
Probably because most users are not big on repairs, and the infamous clock cap killed a lot of consoles
Or those old IDE hard disks died
I got my first Xbox for MYR90 (around $20)
Xbox 360 is my forte.. but I’ve been getting into og Xbox more lately. Great games!
Might do the same for the german market which will be a little different from console availability and price
Cheers!
Poured myself a Pinball Pale Ale from Two Brothers brewery for this episode. ❤
Nice man! Cheers! 🍻
I only have a handful of games on the wii. I wont invest in it unless i find something i dont have. Which just might be another 5 more games.
I picked up a game cube controller ( platinum ) off offerup for 50$ brand new sealed In packaging!!!
bro the t shirt is fire
Thanks dude! One of my favs for sure. Cheers!
No 3ds? Damn ☹
Stay tuned :). You may like today’s video. Cheers!
Cheers!
I've unfortunately have had 2 OG XBox systems fail on me 😞
hey guys, i'm looking at your back wall and wondering...where do you buy your game cases at? I've got some gba games and i cant afford to buy the cardboard boxes but i've seen DS type cases that look aweseome but some of those on ebay look really cheap or dont have the whole (or most) of the game library available. HELP!
We did a vid on this a while back. This should point you in the right direction. Cheers!

I can’t wait for the day when you review a beer and say “It’s a bit nutty.” 😉
Ha, when I saw the title of this video I was like, "I bet the Wii is on that list." hah
For me as of recent it’s been PS3 slims and banger Wii games out there on the thrift/trade.
i always thought that the wii u game pad cannot be seperate from the console and will not work on a different console.. school me real quick lol because there has been times i passed on a pad or just the console because of this!
Same
