Always enjoyed Dune. Even the theatrical version that was released is perfectly accessible.

Read Mr. Evry's book. Very good. I am probably in the minority here, but after seeing Dune Part 2, I now hate the Villeneuve version. This is because Villeneuve's version so altered the Herbert story that it is now crap, despite the wonderful cinematic imagery. Compared to Villeneuve's version, the Lynch theatrical version is far superior despite its additions (e.g. weirding modules and rain at the end). Lynch's vision was far more faithful to the source material than Villeneuve's version, which completely emasculated Paul and the Fremen. Total crap! Long live Lynch's version (including the Spicediver Fanedit).
