Happy you're experiencing the borkedness of Toxic Lash. Another amazing one to try is a beam primary with combustion beam (combustion beam spreads toxic lash and can re-proc itself, leading to some pretty hilarious map clear vs corpus/fully stripped enemies). Tent flux rifle is best for this but any beam primary works. A couple of things for anyone wanting to try min max this: Toxic lash is also affected by your modded toxic damage of your weapon e.g. adding a 90% toxin mod to your hikou will drastically boost your damage. Roar triple dips on toxin procs, so subsuming this over your 2 or 4 will massively boost your damage.
It also chain-reaction Sobek's Acid Shells. Combined with Emerald Shards +Toxin tick damage it scales very high and don't even need full strip as explosions will overlap and apply high amount of very high tick poisons.
All elemental mods affect lash but toxin double dips. Also Im pretty toxic lash trip dips banes (once on the hit, once on the lash damage instance, and once on the DOT)
I am loving this series of picking weapons that are generally considered bad or weak by the community and coming up with builds designed for fun or just to be silly.
Concealed explosives hikou prime is actually something I use from time to time, but not for damage. It's actually quite the good weapon for looting canisters, as you can just chuck them all over a room to immediately clear it. Particularly for the zariman missions with a lot of objects hidden around, it's a godsend.
That'll be something to try. The last time i messed with clearing containers was when I was trying to use the Limbo trick to destroy containers to find the syndicate medallions.
I commented about Kompressa on the last video so here is a cool interaction with it (not so viable and i don't know if this is common knowledge but anyway) With Yareli, if you throw the "single blade" from Surging Blades augment into a bubble fired by Kompressa, the blade will stuck on the bubble, making it bigger and lasting longer while the blade cuts everything in rage (you can have more than one on the field at the same time). I don't think this is any useful but its a cool "secret" at least Wiki have this information but its so random that i don't know if everyone know this already, considering the forgettable setup you need and the lack of utility about it
I used to like to build around this interaction before Yareli got her soft rework, it gave her aqua blades the option to have better single target matchup also not having to spam her 3 ability button all the time to kill any big guy was finger saving. But with Merulina guardian and more/better krit pistols available I see little incentive for augment blade damage anymore.

Conversely I use a regular Hikou(faster fire rate) with maximum fire rate and multishot(including Riven) with Concealed Explosive. Do I use it myself? Hell no, runs out of ammo instantly. It's specifically made for defense sorties and similar where you defend an agent. They have infinite ammo. Which makes this firerate/multishot build good even in non-endless SP.
You mentioned having low power Saryn, this would work great with what I call "Assault Saryn" - high power and duration, range goes out the window, overwrite her 4 with Roar (opening up faction hate mod slots for a "real build), toss on the "spores add corrosive to weapons" mod, and you have one of the better weapon buffing frames in the game. Pairs well with panzer vulpaphyla; you can trigger the pet spores with lash, and said pet spores would compete with regular spores anyway.
I started using concealed explosives just for resource farming roam zones and it's just so stupidly handy. I'm nowhere near steel path, but zipping around on Archwing throwing knives with a general "F everything over there" approach is great.
Elemental mods affect the damage too. So add double toxin mods (cuz toxin double dips with lash) and primed heated charged and it can easily do steel path. Also use venom dose on saryn and roar and its even more insane. Dystopia’s vid has a bunch of nerdy stuff abt this if you like that.
I'm pretty sure Distant Observer did a video way~ back, but not for us but defence Misson targets (especially Lua mission). Thing is their damage scales with mission levels, so harder the mission becomes the stronger they hit, plus the fire rate of Hikou you can basically AFK the whole mission, forgot when was this patch but it could be before PoE (I quit WF 4 years ago, so I'm not really sure)
The additional toxin damage instance and resulting toxin procs from toxic lash will scale with any theoretical toxin damage modifier on the weapon, This means any +Toxin mods regardless if its combined into another element or not, Venom dose's +corrosive, melee exposure on melee weapons, Ect. The additional viral damage from nourish should also amp toxic lashes damage, but roar should outperform it here as a subsume.
Maybe try out the Toxic Lash/Sobek exploding mod combo, if you get enough toxin damage (through mods/warframe abilities) you can get one kill and then spread MASSIVE damage toxic procs around a whole room.
I believe toxic lash benefits from toxin mods you put on your weapon EVEN if they combine into another element like corrosive, so you could use that knowledge to make it steel path viable
i remember back in the day where you could give AI teamates your hikou with all fire rate and concealed explosives and it would just destroy everything. the ultimate afk defense cheese back then
You should experiment with Mirage's Doppelgangers and the Verdilac with it's block combo. I've been messing around with it and it's very funny because each doppelganger shoots an additional projectile from the verdilac as the doppelgangers don't have a restriction on projectiles for melee like they do with primaries/secondaries. Just be aware the camera shake is INTENSE at times
What an awesome showing here, I definitely need to max out this arcane. Actually using Galvanized Shot would probably improve the single-target damage. And maybe Electric or Gas to increase the number of status procs?
If you DO want to make this Steel Path Viable, get the Spores Augment, Subsume Roar on the Second slot. Have all three going at once. Enjoy nuking everything under level 150 in Steel Path.
I added fire rate, fire rate and more fire rate over punch through for mine a while ago. also ended up with a rather racist riven. that would be like the only other thing to add for damage. Also Roar. Edit: As for the Incarnon Despair and Kunai, sadly the Incarnon forms didn’t really do much more than the pure, unadulterated *CLEM* of the Hikou.

Nah, concealed explosives procs only scale with faction damage and the extra hit from toxic lash would be based on the explosions damage, not the weapons damage. If you don't want to use faction mods you can just subsume roar, its already saryn's most competitive option anyways.
Could always mod in more Toxin to increase the damage of Toxic Lash. Also, now I'm a little miffed that I sold someone a Hikou riven for very cheap just the other day.
Honestly for as much shit as it gets, calibans razor gyre or whatever his 1 is called can feel like old world on fire in content that isnt steel path if you build into it, its also nice cause you can just zip to enemies if you have to
As much fun as this seems to be, it requires saryn in a way so I am not a big fan. I generally don't like to build weapon setups that only work when I am using one very specific frame. I don't mind modding for other elements if I use a frame with nourish, but that's the extent I want to specifically rely on a frame to make the gun work.
Watch dystopias vid on it if you want optimized build. Also use mk1 kunai w/ incarnon adapter for more ms and fr. conjunction voltage is the best arcane for this (i believe) bc it gives ms. Also mod for near max strength w/ venom dose, roar, and arcane velocity on saryn. Also dont forget reinforced bond for 60% fr too
Honestly I kind of want them to just... make Concealed Explosives and Thunderbolt scale with other mods now. Like, it's 2024. We live in an AoE meta. They've tried nerfing AoE like five separate times and it never succeeded in making them weaker, and then they followed that up by releasing all the incarnon weapons that are just 'wildly cranked substats on an AoE weapon' in various configurations. Their solution for melee weapons falling behind was to give them Influence, making status melees into AoE. Kullervo is a warframe whose strongest ability is turning single-target damage into AoE. The only good lategame bows and throwing weapons especially are the ones that are AoE or incarnon into AoE. The devs seem to be conceding at this point that this is a horde shooter now. If this is the game design space that we are playing in, I genuinely do not believe it would be the worst thing for the meta for them to let you sacrifice an entire mod slot for the sake of hard-extending the viability of the worst weapon types in the game. Hell, I say go all in-- introduce a mod like this for every weapon type, but give them slightly different functionalities. Shotguns all get a version of the Sobek mod where enemies explode into % Max HP based blast radius on death (Sobek's has the highest percentage and keeps the Corrosive damage type). Sniper rifles get 'precision headshots stagger enemies 12 meters from the target and bleed enemies 6 meters away'. Burst-fire rifles get an explosion if all [x] hits in the burst connect. Get weird with it. I think it'd be interesting and probably break their backs a lot less long-term than going back and making whole new incarnons for guns nobody cares about, in terms of workload, because now if there's a stupid gun you liked back in like MR4 that's hotdogwater nowadays you can just slap this on and it'll at least do something new. Shrug.
where is your viral for extra health damage? as i said before, i sue saryin with corrosive/venom infusion with nourish on 4 on my status empowered twin kohmak, you probably will not try because it cost so much to build it, but is is fun , specialy now with the new radiation mods.
You can use xatas but you typically need a specific weapon for it outperform roar. Toxic lash triple dips on roars damage buff and makes spores stronger which is significant. An example of an option thats better with xatas is the kuva drakgoon, use the fomorian accelerant mod and spam uncharged shots, toxin progenitor.
Want more fun My fiance uses Elemental ward ice with green shards for heal its so insanely strong the reflect damage pros toxic lash and then heals you aka immortal saryn. oh and use arcane blessing for more HP per orb

Toxic Lash is also able to scale Shedu's pulse on empty magazine to somewhat high end fissure levels, but you also want Roar subsumed.

Using a venon damage mod boosts the toxic lash damage and procing Venom Dose counts as moded toxin damage, increasing it even further.
