When you cast venom dose on yourself it applies corrosive to your weapons, which toxic lash treats as another toxin mod for dmg scaling. However keep in mind that it can make proccing melee influence trickier since you won't get electric procs as frequently due to the ratios.
Edit 2: I am wrong. Venom dose does affect damage ratio. Toxic Lash and Xata's whisper don't for some reason.
Aren't elemental buffs considered seperate damage instances? I could be wrong, but if I'm not, then it shouldn't matter, since it doesn't interfere with the weapon itself
Edit: Now that I think about it, it definitely works, because I've been using pretty much the same build with the ceti lacera and I still have almost 100% uptime on influence
@@cephalonbardus8244 the more often your melee applies electric status procs, the more often you'll retrigger melee influence. If you activate a huge ratio of corrosive from venom dose you may keep doing corrosive statuses with occasional electric so melee influence won't retrigger as frequently
@@daveelliot2328 I know. But if buffs like venom dose work like I think they do, then it shouldn't matter.
As I understand: venom dose/toxic lash/whatever cause your melee hits to deal an additional, seperate hit, that deals X% corrosive/toxic/whatever damage. It basically works like the decrees you get in duviri. If that is the case and the damage is caused seperately from the weapon itself, then the ratio of elements on the melee weapon won't change at all, since the elemental buffs are seperate hits that are not on the weapon itself.
For example: If I have a melee weapon that deals heat damage and buff it with toxic lash, then each hit causes 2 damage instances, 1 from the weapon itself (heat damage) and 1 from toxic lash (toxic damage), and they will not combine to gas.
@@cephalonbardus8244 venom dose is the augment for Saryn's 1 which gives her and allies corrosive dmg to their weapons scaling with strength and duration like elemental mods. The ratio of your elements determines how frequently you will proc certain status effects. If you weapon was originally doing 50% electric and 50% slash, then you give it 100% corrosive, it will now have ratios of 50% corrosive 25% electric 25% slash until venom dose duration runs out
@@daveelliot2328 I know what venom dose is and how elemental ratios relate to status chance. But using an ability like venom dose does *not* add corrosive to your weapon, but rather causes your melee hits to hit a second time, dealing a percantage of weapon damage as corrosive damage. Again, the element is *not* added to your weapon itself, so it does not affect the elemental ratio of the weapon at all. I know for a fact that toxic lash works like that, which is why I believe that all abilities that add elemental damage, like venom dose, work this way. If you can prove me wrong, then I'll gladly accept that I'm wrong, but as it stands, there is absolutely no downside to using toxic lash and venom dose with melee influence.
I was recently watching some older videos where you would go through and list each individual stat, the ips distribution etc and comparing it to this new style of video, theres a pretty huge distinction. This new style of video feels more fun, I hope you do more like it. I like hearing about how you enjoy the build and how it came together

Just in time for the update too! I think I read that they want to change the way slam damage works. Make it scale along with mods? So maybe this build will get a significant power boost once the update drops? 👀👀

Yep, they're changing slam attacks to be affected by damage mods(probably crits too, not sure). I will absolutely start using my praedos more.

@@DragonaxFilms Sadly, the change is only for jump up and slam attacks, not all slams. Ah well, the changes would have been great for Atlas' rumbled augment.
You've been just doing banger after banger after the Saryn toxic lash illumination! Always loved your content because of it you just pick a fun thing and run into hell and back with it.
With all of that said and excuse me if my ignorance on the mechanics might make myself wrong here, wouldn't Tennokai also a be an option in this case? And a very strong one at that? Im not quite sure if the explosion works with combo counter, but if it does it could lead to some really funny damage with this setup.

absolutely beautiful!! If you wanted to push it further, try subsuming volts shock over miasma and then running both venom dose and shock trooper. Since you don't need to mod for electric anymore it frees up build space for even more fun! Also, vulcan blitz is affected by faction mods which can help it all spread easier
Faction mods are where the damage comes from! You get to triple dip them here! Multi-dipped faction damage + high enough strength on toxic lash + the max % hp damage + emerald archon shards with +toxin proc damage (optional tbh, they're additive to toxin mods) = skadoosh. Very much SP endurance viable damage on there.
Jat Kittag was my go to like a decade ago, still my highest used Melee, so sad we didn’t get a Kuva.
Just thought I'd mention... Thermagnetic shells is a interesting alternative for the secondary slot... Now I want to test that with my Saryn.
Edit: so as expected, mag damage is not a good idea to kill with, oof. However, I forgot that I have a riven that lets me get almost 40 pellets of Mara Detron so cascadia empowered is amusing single target.
what about the prisma obex? entropy detonation might work, and that was a fun thing you tried years ago with volt

I find that when playing steel path with Saryn it helps to use QuickThinkng as well as Rolling Guard help to not die so much.

I currently have Saryn building for unrelated reasons (Circuit lol) - I love the heck out of the Jat Kittag for all the Tenno Space Program it can inflict, but I just couldn't get enough damage on it to make it hold up to high-level content. Until now!
A fun way to be tanky might be to stack hp, then an emerald shard with the bonus to heal every tick of every toxic proc

i have found out with how blitz and acid shells well working with saryn toxic lash, for what ever reason it only sometimes spreads properly(like once every 20 times), well most of the time it only actually spreads to 1 enemy even if every enemy in its range does take a damage hit. hell there were times where the enemys were taking toxic proc ticks without any status on things.
i however did find a alternative method, garudas 4 also works like this and is consistent, just kinda need to reapply it for basicly every enemy.
the jatkittag, serro, scindoP, twinkrokur, and twinbasolk are my babies!
Acid shells for the Sobek works the same way. Subsume Roar and the venom dose double dips from the buff for monster damage.
Also Thermagnetic Shells for the Detron works as well. So you got two options for primary and secondary.

I was personally considering Melee Vortex to get the most out of the 6m radius.
So since Toxic Lash works on Slam you're going to revisit the Sampotes, right? Especially since today's patch made slams scale-able with the rest of melee damage.
this works with the dual ichor incarnon. dead enemies leave behind toxin zones that proc lash. it clears rooms adn leaves behind carpet.

Hold on, MCGamerCZ. 'Cause u'll have to test this again later today, and on SP as well. When Dante launches, melee slam dmg will be buffed to actually scale with dmg mods now IIRC.
ALSO... those nasty things called bane mods are too strong to not use here: whenever Melee Influence or Toxic Lash generate a new DoT on an enemy, a new layer of faccional dmg is added, e.g.:
- an eletric proc spread by MI triple dips faccional dmg
- a toxin proc generated by TL triple dips on initial target
- AND a toxin proc generated by TL and spread by MI QUAD dips faccional dmg. Hella strong

Not as good
Yes Xata's Whisper works similarly to toxic lash, but they aren't usually great together unless you are using specific weapons like sobek for acids shells, jat kittag for vulcan blitz, combustion beam, attrition evolution on incarnon guns cuz they can both re proc the effects. Roar is usually recommended instead of Xata's on Saryn so you aren't always swapping around different faction mods which also scale the effects and extra dmg instances like Cascadia Empowered
I don't like saryn. I could never wrap my head around spreading the spores, and I'd end up killing ALL the enemies... Meaning I'd have to frantically run to find the nearest enemy to reapply spores.
But this? I'm not usually one for specific frame/weapon combos, but this is quite possibly one of the best builds I've ever seen.

Spores can actually spread only if you have Miasma (pops spores to spread) and active Toxic Lash (spreads on melee kill or actually pop the spores with guns) with decent range.
Most YTer builds subsume Miasma for something else and sacrifice range for something else, so it’s fine if your spore doesn’t spread as much.
Toxic blast damage can be boosted by faction mod and ROAR.

Absolutely, there are a ton of sobek saryn videos out there and it's really good because it has high range, but you will need either a lot of strength or roar subsume
