@@TaraVixen I wondered what had happened to her. She had the art of upsetting every horse and guard. She made it appear she was part of the proceedings. She would pull at the reins and when remonstrated with had this maniacal laugh. I did see her on her site which was very vitriolic, but it seems to have disappeared, it certainly wasn’t the jolly, happy , I’m everybody’s friend, that she appears. A curb bit can feel very uncomfortable in a horse's mouth if the curb chain is attached incorrectly and causes the bit to pinch down on the bars in the mouth. In the worst cases, the corners of the horse's mouth can get caught between the chain and the bit.

I was first taken to see the changing of the guard and the horses when I was about 6 (early 1960s). In the early 80s I took my 6 year old son to see the horses - we didn't do the changing the guard on The Mall bit as I knew it would be very crowded. We were stood at Horseguards. Because of a sudden deluge of people I got separated from my son. My son is profoundly deaf, with added learning disabilities. Mummy panic! I thought I saw him disappearing through the arch where the horses had gone (where those police officers in your video went). I immediately tried to get through the arch - absolutely not!! Guard had seen him but couldn't leave his post. I got a police officer to help. Then a different guard in all his regalia appeared from the arch telling me my son had got to the stables! I was assured he was safe and would be returned shortly. Must've been well over five minutes and the guard came out with my son who was grinning from ear to ear. The guard then explained that he could see my son had disabilities and it was kinder to let my son meet a horse and see round the stable rather than immediately being escorted back without explanation. I thanked him for understanding. My son now in his mid 40s still loves horses. 💖

Thank you so much for capturing the events and for expert narration. As a horse owner my self, I understand that the rider is trying their best to not let the horse “win”. Also, horses can get a bit excited on cold days particularly in the mornings. However, the horse has not stopped chewing on and bracing against the bit since it came on duty. She has been trying to get away from the bit the entire time. She tried at least twice to rear up. I truly think there is something wrong with the horse’s mouth, the bit, or both. Hopefully the groom, the rider and/or the vet will do a complete assessment of the horse and the equipment. My heart goes out to the horse and the rider. They will both need a long calming break after all of this.

So many people watching & approaching, yet no one was sufficiently observant to see the horse very obviously had a problem with the bit & needed it out of his mouth pronto. Either her teeth need done, or the bridle is not the right size or something like that. You can see that the guard has very soft hands. As soon as she stands still for a moment, the reign is loose and it is obviously still bothering her.

WOW...I LOVE LOVE LOVE your video'. Thank you so much for doing what you do to help us get to know London. My grandfather was born in Wolverhampton and came to Canada to homestead. When he retired he wanted to go back but everyone told him no..that England has gone so far down hill that he would be disappointed. I brought my older girl guides to England for three weeks, and I wasn't in England for more than a day when I realized THEY WERE WRONG. Everyone, was amazing, even the people who struggled for a living. Its been 25 years since I did that, and I am thrilled to see that England still hasn't come "down". Nothing has changed...people, including you are still amazing. I can't wait to come back. My husbands family is also from England, and we are coming back to get "remarried". No better place to do it. A huge shoutout to the very well trained guard who so masterfully handled a very unhappy horse who was determined to not go to work today! The young trooper had only one hand and his legs to handle a rearing, bucking and kicking horse (yes I saw him kick 3 times)! Bravo, sir, we’ll done! Very disappointed that senior staff didn’t bring the trooper in to change horses for the rest of his duty!!
One of the silly tourists could have been seriously hurt all the while clicking their silly phones for a photo op!! You would think most folks would know to move far away when a misbehaving horse is in their vicinity!! Even while holding their children’s small hands or the prom, they just stand there and watch, some laughing!!
Kudo’s to the trooper…staff who didn’t remove the horse, not so much!! Support these young men and women doing their utmost in a very trying situation!!
Thank you for your service to King and country to each of the troopers serving!! My husband of 57 yrs served the US for 23 yrs and US Customs & Border Patrol for 26 yrs! He retired after serving our nation for a total of 46 yrs at age 73 yrs. Blessings!!❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧. 🇮🇱

Agreed! Some people are so stupid about the proper handling of horses and what constitutes abuse. It's stunning sometimes. I've explained it so many times that I should keep that info all typed up and ready to paste into my comment.

Hello from Spain, stunningly turned out as usual. It's nice to hear the commentary, especially about the sheep(tourists), who stand in the way, not caring if the children get hurt. It's a frustrating thing watching idiots being allowed so close to these working armed forces. And the bosses are not doing a thing about it. What is wrong with these people. Maybe if people don't do what they should do after being told, they should have an automatic fine. They tried for nearly an hrs getting the horse in the box, why on earth keep trying. Take the horse away, it's like they would would rather keep going and going just so they can go out the front for changeover. To show the tourists. It was frustrating to watch the young man trying to lead the horse, maybe he's taking his orders abit to seriously, because in other videos, with a similar thing with the horse, the soldier will try for so long then take the horse away. In this case I think they should ov done this after the first few attempts to get the horse in the box.
