And I believe it comes out when we hear the results. 🙂 He made this song less "lusty" and more somber than the original, if I may say so. And I like it a lot. 🙂 I read that Chris Isaak Isaak has said that the song was inspired by a telephone call from a woman seeking to arrange a hook-up and is about "what happens when you have a strong attraction to people that aren't necessarily good for you". Yet, Chris Isaak IMHO focused more on the "desire" part, the sensuality and the sexual aspects of the situation... Geoff seems to me to be more focused on the "undesired consequences" of the aftermath. I may be totally wrong though. 🙂 Anyway, Geoff makes the incredibly difficult things he does with his voice look easy, which is a hell of a feat. 🙂 I really enjoyed your reaction. See you next time!
His version is of Ain't No Sunshine is amazing. That's when I realized that he could act. You will love it! I never heard this one before, But I did listen to Chris Isaak's version after. I like Geoff's better. That haunting sadness just can't be matched!

I wasn't sure when I heard it the first time either, but it has grown on me like weed... simply because he changed it completely to the sadness of walking head-first into a situation that you know will hurt you... 💔❤🩹

Geoff does serious about as often as silly, and sometimes mixes the two, like Folsom Prison Blues. He did a cover of I See Fire from the Hobbit. He did a copy of Misty Mountains. He did a copy of Blue Christmas. He did a copy of 16 Tons.
I am curious to hear what you think, I have already seen this one. Can't say it's my favorite by him... but it's because this song to me is so iconic with it's sound...
