Truely beautiful...I am in awe of how talented Geoff is. This cover has brought me to tears more than once. Geoff brings such depth, sadness and a sort of resignation to this song. Great reaction.
This song is so beautiful but so sad. I love the slow tempo and find myself listening to it over and over again. I love his low grumbly breathy voice. The location that they chose for this was problematic as there was no nearby parking. They had to haul the piano along with all the lights and the cameras down a really beat up sidewalk. It was filmed in a different room, but the same building, that they used for his cover of House of the Rising Sun.
The Broken Heart on the wall is lovely. He's not much on vocal fry but he is a master of subharmonics. His lowest full chest is F1 and lowest subharmonics is B0. I loved the feel of the the keys on a Yamaha. The teak upright Yamaha is gorgeous both visually and touch and sound. Currently I have the electric baby grand Yamaha.
@@fm213musicimpulse It does but because I'm still living in my little camper after my husband's death (we never got to finish our house), the piano is over 100 miles away in a friend's house. I'm hoping I can start again and maybe by next year have a home to put it in.
Thank you for doing another Geoff reaction! You should also check out Voiceplay. Their version of The Dragonborn Comes from Skyrim is incredible. Of course everything they do is incredible and they somehow keep getting better and better. Geoff does about 50% of their arrangements and Layne the beatboxer does roughly 50% as well and is just as amazing as Geoff. I really hope you will check them out. In fact two days ago they released a cover of Sleeping in the Cold Below from Warframe that is a banger!
Geoff extremely rarely uses fry or growl. In this song he uses chest voice, but just with a lot of air pushed through, and no subharmonics.

He is indeed a great and thank you 😊

I definitely want to practice sub harmonics more. Oh man I bet the baby grand sounds amazing!

Geoff uses different pianos in his performances depending on the sound he wants for each particular sound.
