  • The Passive Simucube throttle pedal is not bad at all but can't be compared to the Active pedals which will change the future of sim racing and this tech needs our support!

    I built a DIY brake version of these for around $350-400. It is a awesome pedal and I could never go back to a normal loadcell pedal. Being able to adjust the pedal through software and setup ABS or TC is awesome and easy. The one I made uses Simhub for the software which almost everyone should be using IMO. I wouldn't spend $2300 for one pedal and would wait for others to copy the idea for a cheaper option or build one DIY. I'm now in the middle of building a throttle also and have thought of making a guide for others.

    I have one active and the normal throttle since last August... it wad hard on my bank account at first... but after almost a year I can't go back. The easiness of adjustments and the natural feeling are unbeatable. Abs effect is only the icing on the cake. Hopefully it will become cheaper at some point to allow more people to experience it.

    Do these let you change the pedal mapping/role in software? As in, could you have clutch, brake, throttle pedals for some cars, then load a different software profile and have brake, clutch, throttle (or brake, unmapped, throttle; the middle pedal wouldn't actually be used in that mode)? Being able to do that would make the price a little easier to swallow, as physically swapping brake/clutch is such a pain normally that we end up compromising between the two driving styles. Having the brake pedal too far to the right can hurt my left knee at times when I'm doing left-foot braking, but I want to keep the option of using a clutch and right-foot braking as well.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  5 месяцев назад +1

      That is possible and is one way I use them as I have same knee problem when brake is too much to the left!

    These are so impressive and I’m so glad simucube made them. I understand the amount of R&D that went into making these must have been enormous and they want a return on their investment. I can’t help but feel like they would make the money back quicker if these were $1000 per pedal as opposed to $2500. It would bring them into the realm of affordability to buy at least one for the brake pedal. At the current price point you can basically only afford them if you are rich enough to be a real racing driver.
    If they were $1000 instead of $2500 they would sell 10x more and make the R&D money back faster than at this ridiculous price point. They are very high quality and nicely made but they can’t cost more than $500 each to make in time and materials.
