He has actually been in over 267 film roles as an Actor! Yeah, he's the real deal! I love him in everything. He's one of those actors that you hear is in a movie band you go to see him. My Mom loved him too! But she died pretty young.
It's about his ex-wife and their toxic relationship. He's said that several times in interviews now. The big reason it is so emotional to him is because it's the last song he wrote with Paul Gray before Paul died. Something else he's said in interviews for a long time now.

The first time I heard this song I was driving and I had to stop and pull over cuz it hit me so hard. The lyrics alone are enough to cut you to the bone but the music behind them just makes it absolutely gut wrenching. The video does kinda take a weird turn but it's supposed to symbolize how he loved this girl so much he couldn't live w/o her, so he became her. Yeah, there’s a bunch of definitions. I think the one it’s refers to in relation to the song is “to extinguish a flame.” To me, the flame is their love, and it was snuffed.

Snuff means two things, back in the day if someone said he was snuffed ( someone killed him) and Snuff is also used like chewing tobacco but I'm not sure if it's tobacco or not.

I also see this song as the way he feels when she left him alone. This has been a feeling that I have felt. An emptiness that you feel when you lose someone. And when someone goes that way. There’s a massive hole that is never able to be repaired. May god bless you.
The girl made him promise he would never let go. Even though they broke up and he knows she was bad for him, he couldn’t let go and dressing up as her is his way of not letting go
1:37 "wait, is Snuff an illegal drug?" In the UK, 'Snuff' is(was?) a form of crushed tobacco that you snort in pinches. I don't think you can buy it anymore though. Snuff is also a term for a type of "gentleman's special interest literature" (porn, lol) where someone is killed in the film. Finally, in the olden days, people would "snuff" out a candle (put out a candle) so Snuff can also mean to kill someone because of that. Maybe there's more meanings - i didn't Google it, this is just the uses of the word that i know of.
The video is about a man (played by Corey Taylor) who has broken up with his girlfriend, but is truly obsessed with her. The man enters the woman's apartment, smelling things with her scent on it. He then notices on the television a tape that he and the woman had made, and then collapses on to the woman's bed. As she walks out the door, she doesn't notice the man lying on her bed. The man then dives out after her, but she has already gone to visit a neighbor. Going back in, he sits at a table and holds a wine glass that she was drinking from. The glass shatters in his hands and the man goes into a rage, throwing things around and screaming. The video ends with the man cross dressed as his ex and exiting the corridor, revealing it was the man who had exited the apartment and not the woman; the concierge, not seeing the difference, walks back along the corridor whistling the tune to the song.
The title snuff is in reference to something like a flame being "snuffed" out. That fire that burning desire inside of you being snuffed out or taken away. The video tells a story but needs to be viewed as more of a metaphor. Yes it's about a woman that did him wrong. That he felt all those emotions over. But at the end when he is dressed as the woman, it's to show that realization that she isn't that fire. That burning desire and that passion, that fire is in himself and it's going to exist whether she does or not.
A murder video, disguised as a love video. I enjoy it cause it's his first or second (thinks it's first) without a mask .... which to me adds more depth to it.

Snuff is a tobacco product that is a powderized form of the plant which is snorted through the nose, like cocaine. My great grandmother used to snuff. She lived into her late 90's, too - just sayin'. Snuff is also a word that means "extinguish (a candle)." It is often used as a word for "kill." For example, "snuff videos" are videos which depict an actual murder.

Snuff is an old school powdered tobacco and slang for underground taboo films the Serbian Film is all about snuff films and as a term for murder. And Malcolm McDowell was a cool cameo.
Someone correct me if im wrong. But the video was made for the movie this song was on the sound track for. I think thats correct. Which is why you recognize the actor. The imagery does fit somewhat with the song though some of the stuff you directly reacted to i "think" were directly pulled from the movie? Can anyone confirm that? I think thats accurate... But yes, the song on its own is very powerful and something pretty much everyone can relate to on some level. One thing that has always kept me hooked with rock music. You can turn on a random rock station and listen to it for an hour and never hear two songs about the same topic being told from the same point of view.
"Snuff" is inhalable tobacco. No one uses it and is never caught on. Snuff is also a fictional porn genre of killing people for sexual gratification. This song refers to "snuff out" meaning to kill or extinguish. The narrator's relationship is over through either being dumped or her dieing and the only was to stay with her was to become her. So he dresses as his ex and lives her life to keep her alive/in his life.
You should watch him sing this live. It's heartbreaking. He even says before he sings it that it takes a lot out of him. Corey Taylor who is the lead singer also has another band that's named Stone Sour. Equally as big as Slipknot, but much more mainstream Rock. Edit: I said old dude from saw movies. That was SO incorrect. Android21, thank you so much for correcting me. Soooo embarrassing. My brain and fingers weren't keeping up with one another.
There's more emotion in this song than all their hard hitters put together. This song is probably the best thing to ever come out of Corey Taylor. Also snuff has 2 meanings, it's a word for a type of tobacco dip but snuff really means to kill. You snuff the life/light out of someone.
Michael Tabor thank you for your insight. I was not aware there was more than one. Dip is often called Snuff where I’m from so that’s why I said what I did.
Bro, Halloween is over Bob. That got me, but Snuff is a film term as I know it. It's basically killing someone irl, however it's in the confines of a fictional movie.
Feeling those words, huh...? Yeah, welcome to Corey Taylor. Ever heard his rendition of "Purple Rain"? It's phenomenal... It was a tribute to Prince, I believe, because it was right after he died. I can only two videos of it on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/r8naqdC_-1o/видео.html This one's from the crowd, but I think the audio is better despite the crowd noise and occasional commentary: ruclips.net/video/-8vZTB9Zv7k/видео.html
I wish I knew as little about drugs like you do. Unfortunately, some of us must take that long road down addiction's path to learn our lesson, and that I did. I'm better now! No, snuff isn't a drug. I can see where you would make that connection, though.

You can turn on a random rock station and listen to it for an hour and never hear two songs about the same topic being told from the same point of view.
The doorman Billy is Malcom McDowell he is from A clockwork orange, and played Dr. Loomis in Rob Zombies Halloween.
More Slipknot!
R.I.P Paul grey
I spaced out halfway though and the lyrics were just echoing in my head
"Is snuff an illegal drug?" lmfaoooo
Heaviest Slipknot song.
🤘🤘❤️🤘🤘 Snuff I this context regards taking a life. But there is a (really old now) type of "drug" called snuff also. Great reaction!! 🤘🤘
You shouldve reacted to the acoustic version with Corey Taylor. Its so emotional and just such a powerful song.
He is Malcom Mcdowell he is from A clockwork orange and He played Dr. Loomis in Rob Zombies Halloween, not saw, that is Tobin Bell
Android 21 Thank you so so so much for correcting me. How embarrassing lol.
@@XmylifescameoX happens to everybody, no worries.
Savior-rise against. It's awesome❤
There's more emotion in this song than all their hard hitters put together. This song is probably the best thing to ever come out of Corey Taylor. Also snuff has 2 meanings, it's a word for a type of tobacco dip but snuff really means to kill. You snuff the life/light out of someone.
Snuff can refer to Dip or tobacco chew.
Though it is also the kink of killing a partner, (being slipnot that may be the reason for the name)
Shredded tobacco = Chew
Finely Cut tobacco = Dip
Powdered tobacco (meant to be sniffed) = Snuff
Michael Tabor thank you for your insight. I was not aware there was more than one.
Dip is often called Snuff where I’m from so that’s why I said what I did.
I always took it (in the context of this song) to mean "snuff out" or extinguish a small flame.
Bipolar Bear I posted this before finishing the vid so I hadn’t seen everything yet. Just when billy asked
I think you are right
Did not read all the comments, but snuff refers a video where someone dies .... a snuff video.
You should watch the live acoustic version
Snuff is a kind of chewing tobacco I believe. But I think this is supposed to be more along the lines of “snuff film” stuff
The live version is amazing you need to react to that one
Bro, Halloween is over Bob. That got me, but Snuff is a film term as I know it. It's basically killing someone irl, however it's in the confines of a fictional movie.
Please watch the acoustic version
Edit: I wish I can super like a video your reaction was perfect!!!
The origin of this song is about his ex wife but he changed it after one of his band members died.
Where I'm from they call chewing tobacco (dip) snuff.
Feeling those words, huh...? Yeah, welcome to Corey Taylor. Ever heard his rendition of "Purple Rain"? It's phenomenal... It was a tribute to Prince, I believe, because it was right after he died.
I can only two videos of it on RUclips:

This one's from the crowd, but I think the audio is better despite the crowd noise and occasional commentary:

My brother went to high school with him
Snuff is a type of film where a person is murdered on film, for the pleasure of the viewing audience.
I think this is the most times you paused and asked questions that would have been answered had you just listened LOL
I wish I knew as little about drugs like you do. Unfortunately, some of us must take that long road down addiction's path to learn our lesson, and that I did. I'm better now! No, snuff isn't a drug. I can see where you would make that connection, though.
The songs dedicated to his band member who died because of drugs
H.C.H - snuff is about a previous relationship of Corey’s. They dedicated it to Paul after he died, but he was still alive when it was written
H.C.H - it was written about a woman he used to love but didn’t love him back. The thing about it involving Paul came later
React to Slipknot - Prosthetics
Snuff videos are videos of people being tortured and murdered
Snuff is also pure chewing tobacco
Snuff is like Copenhagen or Skoal. What cowboys do
Robert Freeman 😂😂😂wrong kind of snuff I think

To abridge my first comment, someone dies MAY not always refer to the one yours doing the video for or to ....
