The way she explains the topic in intro solves half the dilemma ....the objective of a specific topic and later the concept are cross referred ...excellent trainer I must say
I tried to understand this from two other very highly rated Excel teachers. I finally understood it with your explanation. Very grateful!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting.
I loved this video it was really very helpful for my daughter to understand goal seek .I have tried many times to explain goal seek to her.But everytime she was confused with it. Thanku so much Leila.
You are amazing tutor!! You explain excel in a simple way and giving specific examples helps me to understand better the application of each tool at Excel. I would like also to watch a video about VBA, Macros and Scenario Manager examples. Thank you!!
Thanks Vasiliki. I'm glad the explanations are clear. I am currently working on a VBA course and will be posting some videos here on RUclips as well - probably next week Thursday....
Very well explained! Good that you differenciated between input and output cells. One tip, especially if the model is quite large: use in the formula bar: Trace Precedents, or Trace Dependents. You might check if the arrows "flow" from the Set Cell and Changing cell. I use the Goal Seek very often in my classes for caclulating Break Even Points. In that case you have to substract the two "y" values and this result is the set cell that should be 0. Looking forward to solver......
Thank you for your video! I have a question I want to apply goal seek for multiple outcomes. I have several lines with specific outcome - but Goal seek or solver only applies to one cell. How can I apply to multiple cells?
I tried writing a macro using a button and a loop where goal seek would move line to line down a column to calculate margins it would only work for about 10 rows until it crashed. This was a few years ago never went back to work on it. However it initially worked
I will push a little bit here: is there a chance to use Goal Seek (or an equivalent function) for an entire column of a table? basically, to have the search done without being forced to use the procedure for each line of the column? I hope that this would be interesting for other "students" of yours... And, like many of them, I wish you good luck for 2020! Happy New Year!
Have been using goal seek. It only works in this vertical layout with the numbers ordered a specific way. The data input appears to allow you to pull cells from anywhere on the sheet but won't return an answer unless it is in this super specific format. Highly frustrating and makes goal seek next to useless.
Hi Leila, I have a question that How goal seek feature will work, if I have multiple range of product and I want result for all products individually? I don't want to apply Goal seek function on all products one by one, as it will be very lengthy. Is there any solution of my problem?
Hi Leila, Thank you for your very informative videos. Please can I ask you, is there a function equivalent to the Goal Seek feature in Excel to calculate the goal seek value automatically when you change the variables involved?
There is also a Solver function in Excel. It's for more complex “what-if-analysis” which Goal Seek can’t do. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/dRm5MEoA3OI/видео.html

you have a soothing voice. I am gonna fall asleep.

I have the same question

Can u teach scenario manager
Thanks
You're very welcome.
Can you teach us how to get the impact to goal, pretty please? :)
How are the cells changing colors? Input in red and output in green?

thank youuuu
Hi Leila, is it possible to set not a specific goal but MAX value?
You should check out solver. It gives you more flexibility: ruclips.net/video/dRm5MEoA3OI/видео.html
How to use Goal Seek dynamically please help me
Is there a formula to replicate goal seek method in excel ?
Have been using goal seek. It only works in this vertical layout with the numbers ordered a specific way. The data input appears to allow you to pull cells from anywhere on the sheet but won't return an answer unless it is in this super specific format. Highly frustrating and makes goal seek next to useless.
Hi Leila , thanks for training , where are you from ? although i can guess that 😊😊😊
Can it be integrated in vba program
Is goal seek good for Mortgage Cal. Or for EMI
Yes - you can also use it for Mortgage Cal.
Looks similar to the solve function in matlab. Would be useful when the equation is a ridiculously long.
There is also a Solver function in Excel. It's for more complex “what-if-analysis” which Goal Seek can’t do. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/dRm5MEoA3OI/видео.html
I wish she can drop the excel file for practice to make the video useful.
