- Come join me for a quick tour of my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, that I've converted into a no build minivan camper to car camp out of! This is a brand new floorplan I've been trying put for cold weather camping and extended trips. Beautiful! I have a couple questions- what size Jackery is that? And, do you keep.the potty in the ottoman?
Thank you! It's the Jackery Explorer 1000. In this setup I did store it in the ottoman, but my actual toilet resembles a smaller storage ottoman itself when it's setup. Here is a link to my bathroom setup short!

Is the basket attached or do you secure it when you drive?
Thank you so much! The 3 basket storage unit is secured to the seat, and then anything that is loose on surfaces here is stowed under the bed when I'm in "drive mode" again!

Thank you!! For now I am just doing part time and going on trips when my kids are with their dad (we share custody). I definitely see myself transitioning to more full time in a few years though! 🤞

When I don't have access to public or campground showers, I mainly use Scrubz rinseless shower wipes, and I can even wash my hair inside with special shower caps! I do have a collapsible toilet that appears as an ottoman for emergencies or boondocking, as well as disposable and reusable urinals! I have done a short on it, and a couple of full videos on it, if you want to check out my "vanlife" playlist for those videos!
How do you use a TV? I understand the power, BUT how do you get service/wifi?
I use a portable DVD player for backup, and then when using my laptop as my TV I will either have shows and movies from Netflix and Prime already downloaded, or I will use my phone or mifi as a hotspot to get wifi
Where can I get a bed frame like that for my Honda element?
I'm not sure of one other than the REI trailgate cot. I've heard great things about that one & you can adkist the legs to be very low so you don't sacrifice too much headroom, but I believe it's a bit pricey if you can't get one on sale or a refurbished one.

What do you do for bathroom/shower

I don't understand what you were referring to as your bathroom?
It's all tucked inside my storage ottoman I pointed to. I have a separate short on the bathroom, and the details are in my full length video tour as well - I didn't have time to explain further in this quick version 🙂

Is that the Jackery 500 or which one is that and do you find it sufficient enough for all your needs?
I have the Jackery 1000 and the smaller Jackery 240 that I started out with here. Those would be more than sufficient if I didn't have to run my fridge in warmer temps, but here in Florida the 1000 will only power a fridge for a couple days in the extreme heat, so it's something to consider!

Yes! I have a collapsible toilet that looks like an ottoman when set up. I use it on its own in my other setups as well (instead of inside the chest)

Nice van tour, looks like it works for you, I’m sure if you can someday afford it you should consider having it made into a pop top. There are companies that do it you will be amazed at being able to stand up in your living space.
I’ve watched literally hundreds of van life and camper videos on RUclips. It seems that at least in the United States we are systematically getting to where we accept the idea of living in a car or van as being a good lifestyle. Most people would see it as being homeless, I don’t. Having a dry roof over your head and security is pretty basic and I can see a van like this provides it.
The bad side of this is that every year there are probably 5000 more people doing the band life, at a certain point there will be no parking lots that allow van camping, rules and regulations will get tighter for things like harvest host, BLM land, etc. I met people recently who stay in national and state parks in their van. They end up having to move every five days or so. That might cost him $200 in gas to get to the next state park. When you do the math it’s almost like they’re spending 800 or 900 a month just to live in their car or van. Hopefully in the future more cities will designate secure parking lots where people can park their camper vans, and either have water sewer electric hook up for a fee or use of public showers, laundry etc. the problem with that is they have to really screen carefully who stays in places like that. Somehow they have to filter out the crazies, the drug addicts the very loud drunks, etc. etc. pretty soon you just end up with a small handful of people who can get along in a community of vans
