@@houssam6249 I mean not always, in shooters your thumb is always gonna be rested on the right stick, games like for honor as well, and there are also those who play claw so their thumb will also always be on the right stick as well
Claw is a style of holding the controller where you hit the trigger with your middle finger so that you can hit the buttons with your index finger and therefore never take your thumb off the stick. On Xbox controllers you can only do this with the right hand. On PlayStation controller you can do it left and right side. Just the left side when you "claw" you hit the dpad with your index finger aka left claw.
I play with a left handed button mapping.the x box controller sucks to me because the d pad its my ■●X triangle buttons, and the ■●X triangle buttons are my d pad,the triggers and analogs are switched too.thats why I use the ps4 controller on the xbox.(only with an adapter you can do this)
I actually use both symmetrical AND asymmetrical layouts, but I'm more accustomed to asymmetrical since I've been using XBox controllers for more than 20 years. I've been using the 8BitDo Pro 2 on my Switch and I recently got a PS5 DualSense controller for the PC, just to see how it feels like. Haven't used the symmetrical layout since the PS2 days but I quickly got used to it. Both are good for me, but again I'm more accustomed to asymmetrical.
Agh I’ve been searching for weeks for this info. Forgot to use RUclips. The stick placement makes fps easier for me. It’s easier to pull the L-stick on ps rather than pushing it like the Xbox
I only bought a series X for Starfield. I am struggling to find the D pad and menu buttons. I have had at least one version of every playstation so that's what I'm used to. I will get used to it but knowing this product is coming makes me happy!
throughout my life i’ve always preferred the xbox controller but lately i’ve been playing with a 1/2 claw grip (just on the right side) it’ll be nice to play full claw comfortably
I wouldn't mind getting one of those controllers especially for the hall effect analog sticks and triggers. Always wanted to use a PS4 style controller on Xbox Series S.
Yes! As someone who doesn't hate the Xbox layout, but vastly prefers the PS layout, this is fantastic! Hopefully they do release a wireless version down the road.
I use the touch pad as an extra button while gaming but on Xbox I can’t use any other button as that option. Ps has and extra button which is the pad so I’m sad
Xbox controller is the only reason for years I didn't want a xbox. When starfield was announced to be xbox exclusive it was a no brainer I was going to get my first xbox. I have played playstation my hole life I'm 32 now so been playing playstation since the original. As far as for me the playstation controller is the superior controller design. I have been using xbox remote play and adapters to use my playstation 5 controller with my xbox. I'm really glad to see this controller is scheduled to come out first quarter this year. So I no longer have to go out of my way to use playstation controllers on my xbox.
Love the feel of the Xbox Controller but the stick placement of the PS Controller. This looks very interesting, but without wireless play, it's pointless as tethering myself to a console is outdated.
@@tonyle66 it's okay for some but not for me. 8-bit dough does not do a good job with communicating, they don't respond to questions, overall it's a company I try to avoid

I wonder what took them so long, but as long as the D-pad is great for 2D games then I'm all game. I like the Xbox controllers but they just aren't ideal for 2D games, which there's a decent amount of on Xbone and Series consoles.
I'm slowly moving toward the xbox style layout over the years. However I'm not super impress with most of hyperkin's product line and this one is no exception. I think having a wired (only) controller to cut cost is a borderline poor decision in 2020s. If the msrp of the xbox controller is anything to go off, it's very expensive for what others already did and done better.
I like asymmetrical more but the most I like controllers without unnecessary nonsense. I don"t want to use a touchpad. I don't need adaptive triggers, microphone and speakers in a controller. Motion-sensing is fun for a few minutes and then you never use it again (nothing changed since PS3).
Yes but they still screwed it up!! The joysticks should be at the top. Just move the right joystick to where the letter buttons are... that's the most natural... does anyone make this!????
Sounds like a skill issue on your part. I've been using PlayStation controllers since PS1 & never had this issue. I still use my PS1 controller to this very day on my PC.

FINALLY!! 👍🏼👍🏼
That was my feeling! Now let's get the Ultra 64 clone console going!
I wish more companies would make good symmetrical joystick controllers for different consoles and PC.
Agreed
Can’t believe this controller is STILL not out yet! I’m a PlayStation guy, dislike the Xbox sticks but want full native PC compatibility.
It's literally ridiculous. So many products had been released in the meantime.
Symmetrical. Why? Because our thumbs are symmetrical
Big FACTS
but your thumbs will be offset since your thumb will rest on the buttons not the right stick?

For me the huge downside of non symmetrical layout its that you can't use left claw properly.
Left claw?
