Nice job man. I built one of these with a friend once and not only is it incredibly time consuming, those things weigh a TON. He ended up building 4 of them about the size that you built yours, mounted vertically and it was like trying to hang a car on the wall.
Thank you! Yes they are indeed super heavy haha, this one was into a concrete wall so with each concrete anchor rated at 200 pounds and 9 of them into the wall, it is mounted solidly. Thanks for watching!
Lovely build, if the dark frame was 1 inch wider and had a shamfer routed on the internal edge it would’ve really finished it off beautifully. Still looks nice though. 👍
May I ask what this weighs, I used hardwood (oak) for mine and I just finished gluing it down, well bugger me I struggled to move it! It's 1285mm x 550mm, I will be doing a french cleat but am nervous it is far too heavy!
This one weighs about 120-150 pounds. As long as you are mounting into studs, or a concrete wall like in this case and use the correct hardware then it will be secure. I made the French cleat as long as I could to distribute the weight evenly, and used 9 concrete anchors each rated at 200 pounds. Thanks for watching!
@@soundheadquarters thank you, I finally weighed mine, it's 35kgs, have the timber to do a 1100 cleat, will have a crack at that this weekend, this whole project is a first for me, fun so far!
Great build! Tip 1:21 sand the entire piece first then do the cuts so you only need to sand down the cut ends.
Guys, you are amazing. A lot of inspiration in your videos.
I appreciate that thank you! Thanks for watching
Love the look and color!!
Thanks Kajan!

That’s a cool idea for the frame, thanks for watching!
ola!!!! Teria como me passar as medidas tecnicas? grato
Genuine question, why somebody would put a diffuser that big in that room?
Looks heavy. What could you use as a cloud?
