I agree with you had a senior colleague at work who was doing well but never had an investment. Unfortunately he lost his job and went from living a comfortable life to hardship. There would had been something to fall back on if he had an investment

In America no one is above the law. We are all entitled to a trial and judgement by a jury of our peers. Then we all abide by the result. What Trump has done is not the fault of the Republicans and his conviction is not the fault of the Democrats. Another great thing about our country is each of us can express our opinion by voting in November. The crime was a violation of a New York election law that makes it illegal for "any two or more persons" to "conspire" to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means. After carefully listening to the facts, and asking questions they needed answered, the jury of 12 people, all selected by both sides, UNANIMOUSLY concluded that Donald Trump caused business records to be falsified, and that he did so with intent to defraud that included an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof. Trump has lied claiming they did not allow him to talk, however that is a lie. He had the opportunity to speak for himself, and decided against it because he had no truth to tell. Donald Trump is a convicted Felon and his sentencing will take place on 11 July 2024. Finally, Trump has learned that he is NOT above the law and there are consequences for his criminal activity, and also that money cannot buy everything. If you and I have to be upstanding citizens, then as a citizen of the United States, Trump he must too!

Exactly 💯% Justice was not blind. There were at least 2 Republicans' jurors, one even said he reads Truth Social (Trump's site), another Fox News, but the evidence was too much to overlooked. The defense did a very poor job, plus Trump disrespected the courts by his behavior and falling asleep. This case will not be overturned on appeal. As a convicted felon He should not be able to run for any government job.!!!!!!
I think "character assassination" is a bit much. While pointing out the obvious which is that the standards for what the prosecution was implying were far greater that anything that was given, they suggested that the entire intent of the judge and prosecutor were political in nature. Given that they've both been outward in their hatred towards Trump prior this should not come as a surprise. In a normal case this would be cause for a change of venue, if not complete dismissal.
While you're correct that anyone who is surprised is not paying attention, I think the only reason for that is that this case is clearly political in nature. It's a shame, but it's simply the matter of the fact.
