Can we take a second to appreciate how smart Iggy was/is. In the 2012-13 season he looked at the Warriors, a franchise that had only made the playoffs once in 18 years, a team with a bunch of young unproven talent led by a skinny kid with bad ankles, and saw something special happening. Dudes a genius.

The Sixers had a low key squad in Iggy's last year. (2011-12) Jrue Holiday, Lou Williams, Elton Brand, Thaddeus Young, and Nikola Vucevic. Lou Williams lead them in PPG at 14.9 and Elton Brand was 5th at 11.0. Everyone in their rotation had a positive defensive rating and they were 3rd overall. They were 5th in SRS. They beat the Bulls after Derrick Rose went down (Still a good ass team) and pushed Boston to a game 7. The Celtics then lost in 7 games to Miami. Brand was a little too old and everyone else besides Iggy was a little too young but that was a talented team.

Iguodala earning a starting role right away in his rookie year was kind of a surprising and funny story. The Sixers had Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson at SF who was one of the better mid-range scorers of his generation, and who had only just turned 32 and was coming off of a year where he still averaged a very respectable 16.6 ppg as the second fiddle to Allen Iverson. With his defensive hustle, Andre just absolutely manhandled and eviscerated Glenn in training camp to the point that they were forced to demote the Big Dog despite his pedigree (no pun intended) as an all-star level player. Supposedly, the veteran Glenn took the demotion so badly he feigned injury until a trade happened, then he was waived and managed to successfully ring-chase with the Spurs, sleepwalking into a ring and then retiring at a fairly early age.

I was talking basketball with a buddy about a dream scenario team for certain players. And after some thought, Iggy to GSW sounded like the perfect fit. And even my buddy didn't buy it. But I just thought it would be awesome if he came off the bench and did him.
You gotta give credit to Philly too. They drafted real well after AIs departure. First Lou Williams and Iggy, then Thaddeus Young, and then Holiday. You're talking about a team of glue guy, team first hard working players in every position. In retrospect I'd kinda like to see Philly max their potential with what they had.

Iggy honestly shouldn't compare himself to Pippen. He's a better locker room presence, and he has a future in coaching. While maybe not on Pippen's tier, Iggy's versatility goes beyond just his skillset, and he should give himself more credit.

I like this video because its closer to the truth as apposed to the obvious fodder we hear concerning Andre. Honestly Andre is an efficiency killer who doesn't know he is one most players make it about stats Andre in the 3rd and 4th made it about percentages which is why he won Finals MVP in 2015 based on percentages in the 3rd 4th qtr and overall Andre dominated that series.

iggys denver team was so fun to watch at the time. They were sick in nba2k too. Iggy was like budget lebron that dominated fast breaks and gallinari couldnt miss 3s.. the dude with dreads and balding white guy were good on the glass. and miller was a good floor general, kind of like an older chris paul. Fun era.

You should do a Shaun livingston video! Truly a underrated Gem who would have been one of the best had it not been for injuries . He was a more skilled Ben Simmons type. Didn’t shoot that well , but serviceable if needed. Having that type of length playing PG is a real rarity . I would abuse kids with him in nba 2k11 playing as the underrated bobcats! Gerald Wallace , Stephen Jackson Shaun Livingston Dj Augustine tyrus Thomas . All under rated glitches in that game if you really knew how to play! All the scrubs would pick the Lakers, heat, Spurs maybe Boston.. and they would get stomped out by the horribly rated Charlotte bobcats haha . Them and the hawks were my squad! Maybe a little Carmelo with the Denver nuggets . Great times man

I'm no basketball expert, but when I watched Iguodala play in high school, I thought he would be a D1 player, not an NBA player (let alone a very good NBA player). I'm very happy for his success and that he has found a way to be the best player he can be by being a team player. I love his style of play. Pippen is a great comparison to Iguodala.

We entered Lanpheir in 82 and won the state title in '83 and a runner up finish in '85 losing by 2 in overtime. Andre came later....

As a Warriors fan and Iguodala fan, LeBron was the most valuable player in the 2015 Finals. He put the Cavs on his back, but the Dubs were the better team. But in the '69 Finals, the first year Finals MVP was awarded, Jerry West was the only Finals MVP ever to come from the runner up.

I’m not saying that’s what happened where he got the final MVP but that’s could be a reason but I do think he stood out as a player besides offence that’s contributed in get the team to be more cohesive
