To find out more about the Single Plane Swing, I have created a "Single Plane Pocket coach" that you can take to the range, or course, and learn the fundamentals of the swing. Find out more about the Pocket Coach here: SwingPocketGuide.com.
I'm 76 years old. Had pretty much given up golf after back surgery. Ran across your videos and now I can at least play 18 and still walk the next day. Scores are still pretty high, 107 yesterday (white tees) but I am starting to feel more consistent and getting more confident. Thank you for telling the world about the single plane swing.
When I was focused on the single plane swing, I would constantly hit it about 2 or 3 yards left of my stance or shoulder line. An absolutely beautiful shot time after time. It was extremely predictable and very easy to repeat. I'd never let other people tell me I was pullin' it when it was landing in the middle of the fairway nearly every shot. Then they'd immediately launch one O.B. and justify it by saying at least they didn't pull it. It was hilarious. I'd come in with an 84, and they'd be over 100.
My season has come to a close,as far as getting on the course, but it was by far my best driving year ever thanks to your videos! It's cool hitting in from places on the course you've never landed at before!I never thought having an almost automatic straight ball off the tee with the big dog was possible, but it is.Thanks Todd(and Tim) and Happy Thanksgiving.😎👍
ABT is the first training aid I got. Very useful to get the setup width right. 2 years now in the SPS swing, shooting my best golf season this year. Since this episode is all about driver, been nailing some 300+ yard drives. Thanks Moe. Thanks Todd & Happy Thanksgiving 👍
I would love to see Todd take one of the long drive guys, give him a few days SPS coaching and see how far he could bomb it! It would finally debunk this myth that the SPS is not a powerful motion (and also just genuinely curious to see what the numbers would be)
Truth to all of this. Look at Lee Trevino, his feet are moving all the time until right before he swings. I have always thought he did this to get the right feel to where he wanted to be. He wasn't thinking, he was getting to the right place by feel to where he wanted to be. He was accurate!
Some people just enjoy being out on the course, the social aspects, appreciating the fresh air and the green stuff. Sure, scoring and having good numbers can be fun too. Anyone can get out there and hack away. But attempting to get a good contact with each ball strike is a FUN challenge too.
Enjoy the game guys. The single plane swing is easier to repeat and lots of fun! It's like shooting arrows straight almost every time. Don't worry about the distance initially. Just enjoy it.
Todd, it could be interesting for you to demo the effects of incorrect ball position using the trainer as a guide to show how your ball position is incorrect.
I'll try this tip out today. I've been using my 3 wood off the tee instead of driver. The three par 5's I've been topping the ball out of the fairway, which is really bad on the third par five as you have to go over about 80 yards of water to get to the green. I've hit a lot of balls into the pond.
The instruction here is not really a tip. It is relative to good Single plane Golf Swing Mechanics based on the Single Plane Golf Swing. Please review the Single Plane Swing to understand this instruction. Thanks.
I've been trying the Single Pane Swing for weeks now, just joined Graves Golf Academy yesterday. A couple days ago I found out why you have to position the ball so far back of the driver. I teed up the ball pretty high and positioned the Driver a few inches behind the ball and swung the club. No ball in sight. I'm looking all over the place and hear this thud in front of me. The ball went nearly straight up in the air and landed like 30 feet ahead. This happened a few times. Not so funny at the time but very telling.
Todd, I switched to SP swing in 2020 after watching your videos. Still trying to get it down. Biggest issue is I literally can't get off the tee. I think I'm rocking back in downswing trying to help ball up in air. What swing thought can I use to keep down and thru the target line? Thank you for all the instruction!
I played golf most of my life then took 10 years off. Im now retired and planning to adopt the single plane swing. Will I have to change my Irons? They are currently 2 degree's up and plus 3/4. Im 6'4''
I bought your book and I'm sold on the swing. I've been working on set up positions and grip for a couple of week. Weather was nice enough to get out and hit some balls today. The ball is going much straighter more often but i'm topping the ball a lot. They go straight but not very far. What am i doing or not doing to cause this. I'm going to video myself tomorrow. what can i look for that will help me figure this out?
Topping the ball? Not getting into lead leg. Leg must be flexed stable. You can always send videos to our coaching academy. This is the best way to make sure you are practicing correctly Email me at toddg@gravesgolf.com.
Thanks for all your lessons, I just finished your book videos, and they were awesome! I'm 61 and have arthritis in my lower back and normally the day after 18 holes I can barely move lol. Played yesterday trying to use your technique. I hardly had any pain today I was lasering almost all of my iron and hit some pretty good drivers. It's really hard for me to keep my trail foot planted when hitting my driver maybe I'm swinging to fast lol. I noticed in this video that you were finishing on your trail toe instead of keeping your trail foot planted. Is it okay to finish on your trail Toe? It actually hurts when I try and keep foot planted when I hit my driver.
@@ToddGravesGolf Thanks Sir! I served in the US Army for 25 years as a soldier and 13 years as an instructor, so I probably take things to literally. I was understanding I should keep the trail foot planted for the entire swing through impact. It's easy for the irons but the driver was causing me difficulty. After studying and listening to the book review I only heard keep your trail foot planted lol. Thanks again for your training!
Drawing or hooking? Our coaches are highly trained. In one video they identify this for you. Did you know that you can get coaching for as little as $250 per session or $1000 per year? Or you could keep guessing and I hate wasting time guessing.
Totally depends on your swing speed and how you launch the ball. I suggest that you get the "variables" correct as seen in this video. The Driver is the last variable after correct fundamentals. Do you know your swing speed?
My struggle area with Single Plane has been the driver. Started having a duck hook style shot. Other clubs have never flown straighter. Any thoughts Todd?

Thank you. Good as always. 😅. Happy thanksgiving.
Once again pure gold my friend

Enjoyed that Todd Tks..👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey Todd,
Love your videos. Can you make one on how to aim your shots?
I am convinced this is the way. Just need 1,2,3 of things to do to hit the driver
Happy thanksgiving
Good video
Were all Moe’s clubs E3 including wedges? Thanks!

@@ToddGravesGolf Sorry. I was commenting on another video and during my typing, it changed over to your video unbeknownst to me.
Am I the only one who noticed how left handed buddy on the range throwing one armed zingers out there? Wild, I couldn't take my eyes off that swing.
Chip shots and putting should be way more important than Driver.Players could use 3 wood to tee off when their driver is working well.

I didn’t even use my driver until I switched to single plane. Now I’m busing long decent shots.

Keep foot down through impact. Lift after finish.

Does shaft stiffness matter with natural golf? Regular vs Stiff. Tks
Yes, a properly fit shaft will accelerate your ballstriking ability - custom fitting all of your equipment is important.
I don’t know how to finish the hands and arms, I draw the bal to much? Thanks

Hey Todd can u work the ball with the single plane golf swing ? Moe only spoke about hitting it straight but never about working a gol ball . Thanks
Sidespin on the ball is easy when you can hit it straight. It makes it predictable. But I don't suggest curving the ball most of the time.
@@ToddGravesGolf I agree but can u work the ball fade draw if it’s necessary with the single plane swing? Thanks
@@joecalvacca3195 Yes. Easily. here is a video ruclips.net/video/2q_ylNATMq0/видео.html start at 32:32.
@@ToddGravesGolf that was very informative thanks so much. Happy New Year

Hello, is the pocket guide reserved for people living in the USA?
Please email me at toddg@gravesgolf.com and send me your address. I will figure it out. Thanks.
For a high handicapp single plane golfer like myself, Do you think having a higher lofted driver( 12 deg) will add more distance or decrease distance?

Yes. You need to be a member of my coaching program - toddg@gravesgolf.com
thats good,,"what r u fighting in yur swing",,,,,i think its also important to throw the butt at target
Jack said if he hit driver good he hit everything good.
Great technique. Poorly communicated. No need to understand bio mechanical explanation. JUST TELL us what to do 1, 2, 3.
I’m a coach. I explain.
